Oh god is this how it feels to have one of the best keepers in the world. Best keeper since Grob.

Carlo and his players look pretty silly with all of their dismissive bullshit comments now

It wasn’t even a good save or shot at the end! Pool dominated the game and should of been out of sight!
When you have had years of Mingolet in goal it is a good save. Mingo would've rolled out the red carpet for Milik by diving at his feet or worse probably just stayed on his line.

Edit: his positioning and anticipation is what makes this save. Not everything has to be a fingertip save over the bar.

Game couldve been different if VVD tackle had been a red. Probably was a red.

Two things.

If we don’t complain about those officials ..... outrageous.. Absolutely outrageous. Can’t remember a worsely officiated game than that. Had to beat the shithouse Italian theatrics and the referee.

And man do we have a ******* goalie! 12 clean sheets and counting. That was Schmeichel-esq. Either the other two clowns we’re in the Europa.

Toughest group the first round negotiated. **** off back to Italy yer horrible shitbags yer!

NOBODY will want these Reds Monday.

Europe. Its what we do!

Up the F Pool! Mighty Reds!

To be fair to Ancelotti mate, he did somewhat backtrack on that yesterday by saying there was no ground in Europe like it when we’re on it.

Mertens is a gobshite though like.

In control all game, but sure as **** a tough one to watch. Should have won 8-1 at the end of the day. How Milik and Mane didnt score at the end there I will never know. I remember people laughing when we paid so much for Allison, but what a beast of a player he is!

Its weird because that pit in your stomach feeling has been drilled into us Liverpool fans with our defending over the years, and its hard to get rid of it, despite having such a superb defence now.

THIS. EXACTLY THIS.

I cannot watch a game without sweaty palms and weak knees. Even at 3-0 at Bournemouth I had a feeling of " okay 10 minutes to go, if we hold on for 3 minutes more, then they need to score 3 goals in 6 minutes"

7 years of terrible defending will do that do anybody.

On the game - should have been out of sight. Mane really needs to work on his finishing.

Out of a group containing Napoli and PSG and Serbian hardass*es. Top of the league.

Lets just get past United on Sunday and take it one game at a time. A consistent team is all I wanted and now with results come expectations, I really hope the players and the fans can manage them. This article summarizes it perfectly:

It was straight at his stomach from about 3rds away. He didn’t do anything it. Just hit him lol. Get what your saying about Mig :) happy all English clubs went though!

Still stand by Scouse that PSG won’t be challenging for the CL this year! Never said there not a top side just that they tend to find wanting in the real big moments.

Milik always does this, so welcome to my life with our national team for the past 3 years.

He has an amazing ability to find unexpected goalscoring position, the ball just seems to accidently fall at his feet all the time, and then he boots it over the bar.

.
Bit hard for him to do anything when there’s a massive yellow starfish on him making the goal minuscule. Schmeichel-esq that game winning save last night.

World class goalkeeping from a World class goalkeeper. Again. 90 minutes of having next to nottin to do then he ensures the win and progression.

Just like big Virg, nobody’s even mentioning the price now. Let alone mocking it.

Best we’ve had since Brucie Grobbelaar.

This season, the best in all of Europes top 5 leagues.

Really? Isn’t that interesting?

Personally get the complete opposite knowing we have well arguably the best CH in the World and a top bracket goalie who’s fast elevated himself over the last two seasons into the discussion for the best around in his position. Not to mention JMG outshining even big Virg and being bith our and the entire leagues top CH to this point this year by gemeral consensus. Along with Andy Robbo’s meteoric rise.

I don’t think I’ve been less concerned about our defence as a collective since ‘01. Not even worried these days when either Matip or Moreno come in.

Interestng to me people still worry on things back there.

Its one of them brain vs stomach things.

My brain is not worried at all, but my stomach is just going mental. Its a really weird feeling. Its just a case of re-training my body to know everything is actually good now

Ok. So unless we’re EXCEPTIONALLY unlucky and pull Turin, we really can’t fail to have an absolutely boss trip next March from Mondays last 16 draw.

Could have really done with Utd winning in Valencia this evening to remove what would be a nightmare trip to Turin. (Pretty sure I’d just do the day-trip from a safety standpoint.). But they not surprisingly didn’t so if the Football Gods are reading, I’ll take this order please Monday morning:

Munich.
Porto.
Madrid.
Barcelona.
Dortmund.

Juventus.

On the pitch, I’ll happily take anyone.

One things for certain. Not one of those sides will want to pull this gang of superb Reds!

Yup it is. Logically one shouldn't be worried but we have hardly ever been a logical team past 7 years....

Maybe need another CB in January now...

Might want to reinforce indeed if you want to compete on two fronts. Especially since Champions League looks really open this year. A lot of usual top teams are not playing to their best. Barca and Real are both wank, Bayern couldn't' get out of their own box for half of the Ajax game, and from what I've seen of Juve they're not as solid as they used to be either.

That’s unfortunate for Joel after the three straight boss performances hes put together.

Next man up!

We’ll sound so long as Degsy doesn’t go down. On his natural right side alongside big Virg he’s been pretty much stellar for over a year now in the main. Fabinho can always drop in back there. And as limited as he is, you feel a whole bunch better over Nat Phillips after his pre-season displays in a worst case.

Least JMG and Matip are short term so its muddling through until they’re back.

Unless maybe soneone young with longterm potential comes up, or we box a Keita like deal for Pulisic, I’ll be surprised if we add anything in January as of now. Could do with replacing one of Lovren or Matip the summer though given the time they miss injured.
