Anfield Road Stand expansion gains planning permission

Plans for the proposed redevelopment of the Anfield Road Stand were given the green light by Liverpool City Council's planning committee today.

Liverpool's Premier League fixture list revealed

Liverpool will begin their 2021-22 Premier League campaign with a trip to Norwich City.

So long as it’s not the Friday/ Monday night, and presuming there’s away fans 🤞🏻🤞🏻, Norwich is a BRILLIANT weekend to start the season. Made up with that. And Leeds and Brentford to follow. Three belter away trips to start with.

Leeds away excepted, that should be maximum points going into the early, key title crunch with City.

Superb boxing day game. Chelsea NY’s a pain but at least it's a normal train service.

Only two fixtures missed in January with the AFCON. (Unless they are called up early.). And good ones too. Bonus!

Good run in to #20!

The Derby on a Tuesday night is utter ***** like! 🤬

Just need to wait a month or so for the ‘proper’ schedule when TV’s had their say.

I hope Rafa wears a red tie at the press conference and says how good it is to take up the challenge of a small club.
 
After the superbly turned out, unanimous member vote ratifying the go-ahead with groundbreaking fan representation at board level here at a major club, it continues to stagger e the amount of base ignorance that still prevails over the union after now 13-years and counting of all the wonderful work they've done and continue to do. But in terms of football fan rights and socially/ in the community.

It astounds me when people pose the question 'Do the SOS represent them?' When in truth, everything put to the club is from a collective after consultation with other fan groups. Which is a constant dialogue.

It’s collaborative.

The £30 cap on away tickets for example every top-flight supporter in the Country now enjoys. Who exactly do people think were in the room on the other side of the table from the PL bigwigs et al over that? Aside from the miraculous task, along with other groups that work closely together with the SOS like Spion Kop 1906. of mobilising SO many fans to get together and walk out on their team on just a few short days notice?

And I could go on and on about the numerous face-to-face meetings they've had with the club from Henry on down, fighting our corner on agreed fan issues. Or the amount of help they've given supporters who have found themselves in trouble with the club through various means. Etc etc.

And that's before you even get to the tireless community work they do.

Anyway, before I really go off on a tirade, this is a good point to revisit a recent Irish pod with the union's chair explaining pretty much everything about the Union and how the collective fan board will work in conjunction with the club-

 
Would love to hear your thoughts on what positions and players you would go for scouse? Personally, idc Klopp, the scouts, and Edwards, and all involved have gotten it right time and time again (Apart from cough Keita cough lol).

Make or break season for Naby Lad coming up. One of the most talented players in the squad. Unique, two-way talent who is, IMHO, up there with anything in this league when hes healthy and flying. Who should be coming into his prime at 26 …..

But none of that amounts to a hill of beans when he’s consistently unavailable. ☹

Hopefully🤞🏻🤞🏻, the patient approach the club has taken the second half of last season with him working individually with the German specialist we brought in from Schalke (Dr Andreas Schlumberger. Our 'Head of recovery and performance.' A specialist role we created for him when he joined late last year. By all accounts, in this area – rehab, performance, recovery – he’s the the best in his field in Germany) to sort his core health problems out pays dividends and he finally gets a consistent, injury free run in season 4.

If he doesn’t, there probably won’t be a 5th year here.

As to what I'd bring in. (Shall we park the Parisian for the purpose of this 😉)-

Konaté was a superb start to the window at a ridiculously cheap fee in reality to his true value on the release clause. Absolute top draw CH addition to a top draw CH main three to start with. And maybe that eases the issue with 'biscuits' Matip as the burden on his legs should be eased?

I do think they'll be another CH addition though. Probably later in the window. A younger, Kabak type to add deeper depth t develop. (Wouldn't rule him out still either. I'd heard that was done. Just a case of ne gotiating a desperate Schalke down but then presumably the late season injury altered things there.).

Everything seems to be pointing to Neuhaus from Mönchengladbach being all but sealed. Must profess I know jack about him but every Bundesliga expert you read raves about him. Hoping he gets some time for the Germans at some point the Euro's to get a glimpse.

So that's one big midfield signing. I'd hope for another personally. I know you aren't as keen, but Tielmann's would be the one if I could have any. I just think he's the complete, all-round midfielder who has the versatility and intelligence to play a multitude of roles like Gini. Whereas, as much as I like him, Basouma is limited to a specific role. And very F pricey within that. And I really like Aouar at Lyon. Again he gives great positional versatility. And he's the perfect age for Klopp to mould. I think they'd pay the money for Tielmanns as he's a complete package now. But others would come down to value. Or what Edwards perceives as value.

I'd defo be looking at bringing in 2 midfielders though as we start the next evolution of Klopp's L'pool. But I can see them sticking at one this summer. Here's a prediction- Bellingham and Ajax's Gravenberch will be playing together in Red over the coming years. They are massive on both of them. Keep an eye on that over future windows and feel free to laugh at me if they go elsewhere haha.

And then a top bracket forward. He who we aren't mentioning aside, the constant Sancho talk persists. And we know how much Jürgen likes him and vice-versa. If that came down to ourselves and Utd, there's no contest where he'd end up. But as noted above, I don't think Sancho will be the one we ultimately box from BVB.

I've never been in any doubt the they'd spend heavily this summer on top bracket quality. If not so much quantity. Which is all we need and where we should now be looking as to the consistent, very top level we are now at. I read a piece on Depay earlier on a free ..... Aside from the fact he's done to Barcelona by all accounts, he's nowhere near the consistent, top level quality of player we should be looking at IMHO. He'd have been sound the last 5-years to get us to this point. But now we are at the VERY top table consistently, he's not the quality required to feed there.

I wouldn't surprised if there's another one announced through the Euro's. And then things will get boxed after.

*And there's 'he who shall not be mentioned ' that would blow the whole window up .....

*Edit* The main thing mate is starting next year rested and healthy. And getting us back in the ground in full. Combined those two things, even without any more signings, and City will have one heck of a fight on their hands again after we took our 'season of'f after there's last year.

I'd pay anything to get Bellingham. The intelligence in his game and technique at his age is outstanding. Dortmund would charge an absolute ****** headache inducing price for him though. Probably best aswell for him if he stayed put for another couple years to stay away from the circus that is Pl footy at times. Sancho I'd stay away from not because he isn't great but the entourage he hangs around with and being from a similar area he is from the rumours I hear ain't so good ( still rumours mind you) but he is a London lad and would prefer to go to Chelsea if he had his way. Raphina would be the winger I'd go for if it was up to me.

Yeah, both Bellingham and the Ajax kid seem tohave their heads screwed on and are openly not wanting to go anywhere this summer.
