The Telegraph
Harry Redknapp

Aside, but I can't stand that underhand, plastic faced, fraud (in more senses than one) of a manager. Absolute jackass to be polite who's achieved nottin' in the game in reality to what his ego thinks he is. But he's chummy with the London press so they give him the attention he seeks.

BT have done a decent job with what they've bought. If it wasn't from some of the absolute D listers they have on their panels and co-commentating.

Louis van Gaal cannot take all the blame at Manchester United - terrible transfers have given him an ordinary squad

Harry Redknapp

What a terrible article, not surprising that Redknapp can talk only about transfers and nothing more.

Transfers were fine, we singed players who were doing really well but once they started playing for ManUtd, their performances started going downhill.

Herrera - Had great season at Bilbao and still a very good player.
Shaw - PFA team of the year as a teenager. Says it all
Rojo - World cup finals, he was very good for Sporing Lisbon too. Anyways he is a squad player
Di Maria - Had his best season of his career before moving to United
Blind - Won Dutch league player of the year and had a very good world cup.

Depay - Top scorer in the Dutch league and IIRC second best player in the league.
Darmian - Rock solid fullback and full Italian international.
Schweinsteiger - Roy Keanesque performance in the EC finals just 12 months back. Not the same player he was before but still very good player.
Schneidderlin - Rated as one of the best DMs in the league and at that time only competition was Matic.
Martial - Golden boy award winner.

It's just lazy analysis that transfer policy is poor and all that nonsense. More to do with Van Gaal's methods and how players are afraid to take any risks.

Its not that the transfers in have been bad, but really the amount of players he's let go which has crippled the squad. We have no plan B. When we are chasing games, all we can do is swap pretty much like for like, or hoof it to Fellaini.

He's bought Martial who has the pace he was asking for, but plays him on a wing instead of on the shoulder of a defender to use his pace in behind. Thats just for starters.

Because of the squad he's left us with, we cant really change formation too much in games either and use our subs to change games. If after 60mins the tippy tappy **** isnt working (which is becoming normal now), we dont have the reinforcements to come on and change the shape and performance. How many games could we have won if we still had Hernandez and possibly Nani? For the record I cant stand Nani, but he would have given us another oprion. After 60 mins get Hernandez on and make sure there are 2 quick wingers on either side to get the ball in relentlessly. Either Young/Memphis/Nani on the wings putting crosses in. Hernandez could even be supported by Fellaini for the knock on's or provide a bit of height.

Put the ball in the box and Hernandez would score. We knew that all along, and he's proving it at Leverkusen. But because LVG won't deviate from his "philosophy", even when its blatantly not working, and got rid of all the players that would provide that plan B formation/style of play, we're completely ******.

Rafael should never have been let go, especially when we want to play with wing-backs. His defending is a bit suspect at times but I think thats more down to him making mistake when trying to get into position when attacking and makes rash challenges. Something which would have been greatly reduced with somebody like Schneiderlin on that side covering. Then we have the hernandez situation which ive explained. Nani as an option for direct attacking wing play.

I know he got rid of a lot of players to trim down the squad and get high wages off the bill, but when we look at the transfer fee's we recieved, and what we are crying out for now, it hardly seems worth it. He's trying to mould players into his philosophy that simply dont fit. A good manager would have realised this by now and tried to come up with another solution. The players have tried for 18 months to adapt to his methods. It isnt working. Now I think its time for LVG to adapt to the players and come up with something different. Something that will allow the players we have to get the best out of themselves. Not trying to shoehorn them into something they are not and is clearly not working.

Never thought that was in doubt. By 'can't believe', I mean't I can't believe the reports you weren't.

But the home grown option? All things being equal that could be calamitous.

Apart from Giggs being unready, I'm pretty sure he's been the source of the leaks against both Moyes and LVG. I have no faith in his integrity. Guarantee G Nev would have never let that stuff out, whether he agreed or not. Giggs needs to go, whoever comes in.

Funny just before I checked back in here I was reading a few pieces on the current situation, and the stills of them both on the bench leapt out. The body language between the two speaks volumes.

If he is/ has been undermining successive managers to his own ends, after all that club has done for him, then what an absolute ***** that man is.

Im sorry to Mike but I CANT believe that. That is only speculation (of the worst sort)!

Yeah, hard to believe that Giggs would stab someone in the back... *cough* Rhodri *cough*

^^^^^ Someone wants to give that **** a severe slap and relieve him of his 'merchandise.'

And the same for the tool behind with the frigging half and half scarf!

Did you seriously just use that line in regards to Giggs? The guy has nearly 1000 apps for ***** sake. If there's one case where player did more for the club than the club did for him, this is it.

All relative. Where would he be without the club? Who even now have him in a position scarcely deserves.

He'd have 1000 apps for somebody else and would still be a satisfied multi-millionaire. Where would the club be without Giggs, is another story. But most likely some place worse.

Lol wut.

All hypothetical. There's no telling how his career would of gone under different circumstances and guidance early.

And you really think he's warranted a straight jump to assistant?

And you really think he's warranted a straight jump to assistant?

Yes? He has all the coaching badges and knows the club better than most people on whole the planet. And it wasn't a straight jump, anyway, he was player-coach for a year under Moyes. He's working his way up the ranks.

I think it shows the level of hysteria in the fanbase when people are suddenly starting to blame ******* assistant manager out of all people.

From player-coach to interim manager to retiring to assistant manager.

**** of a fast track. Sound better?

No real concern of mine but to equate, if Gerrard had jumped straight through like that with little to no experience I wouldn't be happy about it. Screams jobs for the boys. However they wanted a Utd influence in there.

Maybe he'll turn into a decent coach. Maybe not. But he shouldn't be in a position like that at a club like coming straight from being a player IMHO.

But regardless, very positive start to this game from both sides.

Dude half of your fanbase has been complaing that Gerrad didn't stay to be involved in the staff.

What the actual **** are you even talking about. Coaching is an entry level position, where would expect him to start, as janitor? People go from players straight to coaching all the time. He has the badges, so he's qualified.

Capello was a business manager for sports teams when he got appointed as Sacchi's replacement. That's a fast track.
