The Manchester United Thread

Exactly, mister, thanks for the explanation. I was late 'cos I went absolutely stuffed cabbage after the game. :D

Oh Christ, stuffed cabbaged!?

Never tried that myself, think I'd get a back injury, don't know how you get yourself in to those positions, fair play

Also, where did you get the goats milk and tweezers at that time of day?

Amazing how people go silent on Pogba for months, then suddenly crow again after one bad game (let's ignore the fact he was excellent vs both Arsenal and Spurs).

Just read back through the thread as I've been offline.
I only see people criticizing his performance against Liverpool (which is justified surely?).

If a player has an absolute shocker in a match, surely people can say so?

Good win for our u23s tonight. Beating Pool 1-0. Riley,Goss,Tuanzebe,Gribbin fantastic. Proper derby to very good game tackles flying in. Handbags the lot. Pool players were absolute classless after we missed the peno. Was like Arsenal on Ruud all them years ago. But got the win and was the better team on the balance of play, came on strong last 15.

Any game where we beat Liverpool is a very good game in my opinion :P

Touché.

But that was a real poor game of football. Not helped by a scratch L'pool side with the Plymouth game Wednesday along with a youth cup game at City the same night.

Not one outfield player stood out with both 'keepers the best two players the park. Which was impressive as there was 7 total shots on goal. With hardly one real troublesome. Brilliant penalty save from George. Should of been a L'pool penalty just before. (Common theme this weekend referees missing massive decisions in Utd's favour but I digress..... )

That was a poor 0-0 all over it until the injury time winner.

I don't think Mike was saying that, more referencing to the fact that he had a bad game but now he will have criticism for days about this, when other players would not, and have not, received the same treatment.

I personally think he had a terrible first half, but pulled it back slightly in the second. Just don't think the constant abuse is unwarranted. People who blast him over and over are the problem. We all have to remember he is still only 23.

Most fans who blast him are rival fans and his price tag with always be bait for them to use after a poor performance. It's just funny how we haven't heard these for the past 2 months when Pogba has been playing well.

Most amusingly before the Arsenal game at Old trafford, Arsenal fans belike "Pogba is **** 89m harharharh, we have better in Xhaka". After the game it was like they had all gone into a cave or something because it suddenly went quiet.

For the reference Pogba has been very good in some big games this season, Arsenal and Spurs stick out the most at Old Trafford. Of course people won't remember that because. #hahapogba89m

Looking retrospectively the result against Liverpool was ok, I mean I still expected a win but you have to accept that they are one of the best teams in the league at the moment. With their line up I did think we could get the victory as they were missing key players but there you go.

Our next 3 fixtures are: Stoke, Leicester and Watford I believe. We need to win them and we will hopefully be in a good position because in the next 3 round of fixtures in Premier League there is a big team facing a big team above us. So we have a chance to make up points. For example this weekend it's Man City vs Spurs.

The problem you get is with the ridiculous fee you paid.

You pay that, you expect him to be dominating the REAL big games like City and L'pool. Until he does that in those games he's gonna' get stick. Not just from the critics but from frustrated Utd fans.

Rightly or wrongly that comes with the fee and the hype.

Joe Riley heading to @SUFC_tweets to complete loan move this morning. Also suggestions Sean Goss will leave Man Utd for @QPR on a permanent

I was saying Pogba is **** in big games long before United bought him, so not quite sure what's all the drama about.

And my God, the mighty have truly fallen if Spurs is a big game now.

Arsenal was a big game and he totally bossed the midfield.

Anyway this is a moot discussion, first season in Premier League and he's 23, he has time on his side anyway.

But how is Spurs not a big game at this point? They are one of the best teams in the league in recent seasons, last season they came 3rd and were in the title chase. This season very much the same. They have one of the brightest young managers in the game and one of the best defences.

Spurs are a team to be taken seriously, plus even if we say not in terms of them, the game of magnititude of importance, it was a must-win game for us at that point.

Verthongen will be a huge loss. Hope they hammer City.

Yeah I didn't think I needed to spell out exactly what my point was, wasn't particularly complex, nor why spurs huge improvements and current standing have changed how they are perceived. Also the rightly or wrongly point on a fee is moot. If it's a stupid argument, it's a stupid argument. Fee doesn't dictate ability.
