The Manchester United Thread

Another comfortable win. Lots of positives. Hojlund goal after 22 matches. Garnacho goal after 19 matches. Good to see Amass make his debut and not look out of place. More mins for Youngsters like Collyer and Obi. Fernandes on form again. Clean sheet. Players returning from injury.

Only negative and it’s a big one is Heavens injury. Was fantastic again till then. Hopefully not as bad as it looked.

ℹ️ We can confirm that @Geyse_Ferreiraa will spend the remainder of 2024/25 on loan at Gotham FC, subject to international clearance.

Best of luck, Geyse 🤝

Ruben Amorim on wanting to “bring one or two big players” to #MUFC: “It's characteristics that we don't have in our squad. Trying to see gaps that we have in our squad. When I say big players, it’s not players from Real Madrid, etc. It's big players in the way I see the game”

NEW: Kobbie Mainoo has always wanted to STAY at Manchester United, and the club do not want him to leave. There is an expected standoff regarding the salary because that is what agents do. He is on approximately £20k p/week and wants his club/international status acknowledged in his take-home. There is a belief that an agreement can be reached to bring the player to a figure similar to Leny Yoro and Amad which would include performance-related add-one and a scaling system to aid with PSR compliance. The line remains the same as when we exclusively reported in January: “Barring travesty,” Mainoo will not be sold, and both parties are committed to sealing a long-term agreement. [

Safe to say Matic assists from the Bench 😂 The worse part is you might not even have the money in the summer to upgrade him as other positions are a priority. Shambles all around.

We defo won’t have the money to upgrade him considering some priority positions in other areas. And the amount of players that will be leaving and need replacing. Saying that I think there’s some youth that will be promoted in the summer/ next season

I know you can't keep harking back to Fergie but my god he would've binned him back to Italy within 10 games. He didn't mess around if a player wasn't good enough. At this point just get a decent stop gap PL level keeper. Anything to not have that clown in goal. You can't build anything starting games 1 nil down as you know he's liable to chuck one in the net. You can't build a defence knowing they don't trust the keeper to bail them out.

If Bayindir or Heaton weren't injured the clown would probably be out of the side by now, Amorin does kind of have his hands tied in this instance unfortunately. However, good news both Bayindir and Heaton have been seen training with the first team squad so fingers crossed he will be dumped soon (even they can't be as bad).
