We understand that but the main gripe I have is how come they haven't been docked 30 points or 15 points like Luton or Rotherham were. It's stupid how they've been able to get away with it for so long.

They havent got away with it. They are literally about to be liquidated, they've been hit with points fines repeatedly.

i think weve been punished enough don't you 9 points in the prem and 10 in the champ and soon to be 10 in league 1 had embargo's and been relegated 2 times to league 1

not really!

Let me give you some examples.

Chester City owed like 10k and weren't given half as many chances as Portsmouth and were eventually forced into liquidation after being deducted 25 points.

Luton were deducted 10 points which confirmed relegation from League 1 and then the following season docked 20 points from the beginning leaving them with 2 consecutive relegations and on the brink of liquidation.

Rotherham United also suffered the same thing with them being docked 10 and 17 points. I remember this one vividly because we had bucket collections at Bramall Lane to help save them.

Most clubs that have entered admin have either gone into liquidation or had bigger points deductions every year. Instaed for Portsmouth it's the same deduction every year. Basically its like going out and murdering someone and getting 5 years in prison and then on release murdering someone else and getting the exact same sentence. It is morally wrong especially when so many others have suffered harsher punishments if anything for less problems.

The thing with Pompey is that there's always someone interested in buying them so in the end they never get liquidated. However every single buyer turns out to be a **** of epic proportions and they end up back in admin... I know it may sound unfair to other clubs but being objective I think they're pretty far up **** creek for anyone to complain... they did get a helping hand because they were in the prem when this whole thing started and it probably wouldn't look too good in the eyes of the world to let a top-flight team get liquidated, but from then on they've gone from bad to worse every season.

You missed the point, they havent come out of liquidation danger yet, hence no 10 points. Once they are out of liquidation and in admn, they will be hit by a 10 point deduction

You mean- Once they're out of administration and a new buyer has taken over, they will be deducted 10 points.

The 10 point deduction is part of the Football Leagues membership offer, which a new owner must recieve when he takes over the club.

And they are a long way from that right now.

well we have 3 owners interested in us now with chanrai interested in us again making a fresh bid and hoping to takeover within next two weeks and PST have also made a fresh bid and the worst one of all Former Watford owner Laurence Bassini is also interested he changed his name from bazini to bassini after going bankrupt a while back the pozzo family (new watford owners) have announced that he left the club in debt and on the brink of admin so he is a no go PUP!

Superbladesman i really dont understand who exactly you're wanting punishing more, The only people a larger points deduction would be punishing in the staff/players and fans of Portsmouth and they're not the reason the club is in the ****, Punishing them more will limit the interest in the club even more, Taking over a club with a 10 point deduction is already a problem, 5-10 more point deduction would leave them with a even bigger mountain to climb in terms of finding investment.

You want them punishing more and increase the chance of liquidation of the club, The only people that will be punishing is the fans because noone else gives a toss about them, The fans are doing everything they can to keep the club going and your solution is punish them more all because some twats in suits ran the club they support into the ground and then pretty much left them there.

As for your examples, Leeds were deducted points twice but that doesnt mean as a Leeds fan i should be wanting Portsmouth punished the same way we were or any other club was, I would rather see them start on 0 points if it helped the club get the investment it needs than see a club liquidated, You can talk about how other clubs were punished and how Portsmouth are getting less of a punishment but as a fan of one of those clubs and probably like alot of fans who support a club which has been in the position Portsmouth are now i think you will find we're more supportive of Portsmouth and what the fans are going through rather than demanding more punishment for them.

You might think they deserve punishment more than they have gotten but dont drag other clubs into your views on it because most of the fans of those clubs dont share your views in the slightest and would rather see clubs in this position get out of it than see them punished even harder.

Never thought I'd see a comparison, on a football thread, comparing murder to going into administration. Seen it all now :S

So how do we punish teams in admin then?? This is a genuine question. If you think points deductions are unfair you suggest a reason how it can be done better.

Do we just let them come out of admin and then be allowed to buy players to take them straight to promotion after having the slate wiped completely clean??

I also never said it should mean you have to support my views on it after all what would be the point of a forum if we all had the same view.

For the record I do feel sorry for the fans but the fact is the owners shouldn't have gone around spending money they didn't have. We do have a right to feel aggrieved considering the amount of wage cuts my club is currently having to make to avoid slipping into more debt and so do other fans who's clubs are paying and living with in their means.

So it's THAT day again. I wonder how badly that **** artist chairman of ours will **** our season this time round.

Will never beat the 'Beattie's got flu' story so he can't play.

Hope Cardiff can complete the Nicky Maynard signing and hopefully get in another DEFENDER we so desperately need!

Think this could be your year in all honesty. Suppose you will want autos though can't imagine you wanting to go through the play-offs again. I know we certainly don't.

Promotion always feels better after a few near misses.

Whoops one down already. Couldn't have sold Quinn two weeks ago when clubs were sniffing and letting us have time to find a replacement.

And some fans insist he's the best we've ever had.

At least we know that's auto's off the list then.

has quinn gone???? hopefully a good replacement or two, ryan hall permanant and ryan mgivern on loan aand if monty goes(hopefully) bring a striker in who can finish - is beavon still available

James Shield the Star reporter says there is news on Monty soon too.

I know Quinn leaving was inevitable but why always deadline day?

Notice the ******* fax machine is working this year an all.

Don't think we need another striker to be honest. Once the side have gelled then I reckon Blackman and Cofie will start scoring for fun. Especially against some of the poorer defences in this league.

We do need a replacement for Quinn though even if its just a loan when the window re-opens. I'm all for having the youngsters but would they last a whole season? Also Wilson hasn't seen fit to bring em off the bench. Does this mean he doesn't think they are good enough?

wilson disappoints me with his subs he either leaves it too late or is scared to change it ironside or phillliskirk will offer something different flynn, mcfadzean, tonne or chappell for width mmcalister/harriot could play with mcdonald to offer more threat
instead he just brings miller on every game

I hope so, playoffs are not our forte. We've certainly got the best team we've had for a long while if not ever - but we need to bolster the defence (we only have 5 defenders in the first team which is poor, however the 5 we got are stellar but we need depth, but 'ITKs' say we will use the loan window for that. We also have Malky who I believe to be an exceptional manager so this is our best chance imo. Expectations and pressure raised due to the woeful rebrand situation, never easy at Cardiff though!
