Much needed shorter month after the madness of last month, it doesn't make it less important though as we have probably the biggest match in Wuhan's short history against Beijing in the Cup.
We can also go a long way to wrapping up the League title this month as well.
Here's the fixtures...

View attachment 349055

Wuhan vs Liaoning (3/9/17) Wanda Plaza Super League

View attachment 349054

43 shots on goal is insane, we peppered there goal from start to finish.
Just a shame we conceded two goals as our performance was mostly very impressive, we got the 3 points though and that's all that matters.
Man Of The Match - Bo Jiangshan

Tianjin vs Wuhan (17/9/17) Wanda Plaza Super League

View attachment 349048

Fairly routine win, although Tianjin did give our goalkeeper a few problems as they created just as many chances as us but we were just more clinical.
Good to see our goalkeeper in top form once again as well.
Man Of The Match - Bo Jiangshan

Changchun vs Wuhan (23/9/17) Wanda Plaza Super League

View attachment 349043

Bit of a mad game with 4 goals in 10 minutes, thankfully we just had too much for them.
Bo Jianghsan was exceptional and crucial to us winning this match by getting a hat-trick and 2 assists.
Man Of The Match - Bo Jiangshan

Wuhan vs Beijing (26/9/17) Chinese FA Super Cup 2nd Leg

View attachment 349037

Ecstatic with this win, it's probably the biggest win in Wuhan's history.
The game was so tense and close, luckily the two goals we got in the first leg really helped us.
The win is huge as it takes us into our first major final and beating Beijing will always please the fans.

Wuhan vs A'erbin (30/9/17) Wanda Plaza Super League

View attachment 349021

We were quite lucky to win this match, we played poor defensively and have to thank our keeper for saving the penalty and ultimately winning us the match.
Luckily we just keep outscoring teams and as long as we keep getting the 3 points then it doesn't worry me.
Man Of The Match - Chi Wenyi

We couldn't have asked for a better month, we've put ourselves clear at the top of the table and also earned the chance to win our first Cup.
I'm glad with the amount of goals we scored this month as well, it really helped us be succesful by getting 17 goals in 5 matches.
Here's the League Table...

Not the best goal we have ever scored but still a great finish nevertheless.

Player Of The Month

View attachment 349003

He's easily our best player, he's won so many matches this season with his amazing ability to get goals.
He scored 9 goals in 5 matches this month and grabbed a handful of assists.

Bó Jiangshan looks like an absolute wonderkid! That National team goalscoring record is insane too

Enjoying this, any thoughts of where you're going next?

He's incredible to be honest, to stumble upon him at a club like Wuhan is amazing.
Not sure where i'll go being next, I think I might give the Asian Champions League a go with Wuhan first, then maybe move to a club in Oceania

Australia is too mainstream in Oceania, do New Zealand (if you have it on your database)

But yeah, i'd like to see you have a crack at the Asian Champions League

Australia are part of Asia on FM, New Zealand is definitely being considered though

oh, didn't know.. which countries are considered as Oceania then?

End Of Season Run In

These were a very important few months for us, we could potentially could do a League and Cup double which for a promoted team is just incredible.
We also had an All Stars Match, which doesn't mean much but it would be nice to win it.
Here's the fixtures...

View attachment 348880

Wuhan vs Yongchang (8/10/17) Wanda Plaza Super League

View attachment 348879

We really should of won a bit more comfortably, however I was glad to see us keep a clean sheet for once.
We hit the woodwork at least 10 times, it was insane, this tends to happen a lot as we like to bombard the opponents with crosses.
Man Of The Match - Bo Jiangshan

Fuli vs Wuhan (21/10/17) Wanda Plaza Super League

View attachment 348877

This win was really special, this win wrapped up the League Title and we did it in style.
The sending off did help us admittedly, but we did well to break them down after they really tried to contain us after going down to 10 men.
Man Of The Match - Bo Jianghshan

Not much to say about the next two league matches, so I'll just post the screenshots.

Wuhan vs Shenhua (28/10/17) Wanda Plaza Super League

View attachment 348873

Wuhan vs Chengdu (4/11/17) Wanda Plaza Super League

View attachment 348872

Wuhan vs Fuli (11/11/17) Chinese FA Super Cup Final 1st Leg

View attachment 348870

Fuli give us a really tough match, they looked dangerous on the counter attack and managed to get that important away-goal.
The away goal really put the tie in the balance, as we need to make sure we score an away goal in the second leg.
Man Of The Match - **** Xiwen

Fuli vs Wuhan (29/11/17) Chinese FA Super Cup Final 2nd Leg

View attachment 348868

Incredible performance, we can really thank our keeper for this win as they created copious amounts of chances but he managed to keep the majority of them out.
Once again though it was our attacking play that caught the eye, we're just absolutely lethal going forward as we exploit the wings and just destroy teams with our pace out-wide.
Man Of The Match - **** Xiwen

Wuhan vs CSL All Stars (24/12/17) All Star Game

View attachment 348865

I wasn't too bothered about this match, although it was nice to win it.
I'm also sure the All Stars team would of been a lot stronger with a few of our players in it ;)

Man Of The Match - Feng Gang

End Of Season Summary

What a truly incredible season, I really didn't expect us to have this much success in our first season in the top division of Chinese Football.
We completely dominated the League and also got Wuhan's first ever Cup win, so we've exceeded all expectations and more.
It's also see's us qualify for the AFC Champions League, so we'll be staying with Wuhan to see how we fare in the competition.

Here's the final League Table...

Goal Of The Season

It's just an incredible striker, he couldn't have caught it any sweeter as it flew in to the top corner.

Player Of The Season

View attachment 348858

Truly amazing player at this level, his record this season is crazy for such a young player.
He scored 33 goals in 36 matches, and also got 18 assists,
he also seems to be doing the buisness at International Level as well.

Transfer Window

View attachment 348426

So with us now being in The AFC Champions League we needed to add a bit more quality to the team, we were able to shop in a higher bracket and maybe take some players from the teams around us in the league.
I was careful not to bring in too many players though as we did really well last season and I don't want to mess about with the team too much.
Here's who we brought in...

View attachment 348402

Zhang Weihao

View attachment 348399

Our left-back Xu Wenbin just retired so we needed a change of guard, Zhang Weihao is good young left-back with a lot of potential, he's very pacey and has some good marking and tackling stats.
We'll be working on his crossing though

Ivan Vukovic

View attachment 348396

He's being brought in to just strengthen squad, he may not be a starter but he's still a very good replacement if we pick up any injuries.

Jorge Bazan

View attachment 348393

Great signing for us, Gao Ming was getting on at the age of 35 so we really needed to bring in a replacement.
The best thing about Bazan is that he can play in AMR, AML and AMC all equally as well

Here's who left the team...

Looking Forward...

View attachment 348375

It looks like we'll probably be able to dominate Chinese Football once again this season, obviously the aim with this story is to gain as many different trophies we can in many different countries.
I feel like we have a great chance of adding an Asian Champions League here at Wuhan, it would be an astonishing achievement to do it considering we were in the second division only two seasons ago.
Anyway here's my aims for the rest of my time at Wuhan...

 1. [*=center]Continue to dominate Chinese Football and add another League and Cup double to our CV.

2. Make the club self sufficient for the future, we'll look to improve our youth system so Wuhan can bring through their own talent.

3. To win The Asian Champions League, this would be our second Champions League in as many continents.
It definitely going to be tough but we can do it with players like Bo Jiangshan, Dong Xiandong and Yan Shipeng leading the way for us.

Club Improvements

View attachment 348278

As we are now looking to win the AFC Champions League we need to improve the club in more ways than just improving the team.
By improving things such as training and youth facilities, we would be able to get our players to their full potential and also make sure they're getting the best coaching possible.
It also set's the club up for the future, and gives them some stability, we just needed to improve the club in as many departments as we could.

Training Improvements

View attachment 348277

As you can see our coaching was not the best, our coaches were being stretched very thinly but thankfully we are now in a position to improve this drastically.
This is how we did...

View attachment 348276
View attachment 348275

Here's the coaches we brought in, we also nicked Jiangsu's assistant manager.

View attachment 348264 View attachment 348263 View attachment 348262 View attachment 348261 View attachment 348259 View attachment 348258 View attachment 348257

Youth Facility Improvements

I also mentioned that we'd be looking to make sure Wuhan can bring through their own talent, the easiest way to do that was to improve our youth facilities.
I'm glad we were able to do this after the board previously cancelled the project due to a lack of funds.

View attachment 348254

View attachment 348253

Scouting

Another way I looked to improve the club was to improve our scouting network, we are currently restricted to only being able to scout players within Asia.
I felt we could benefit from expanding our range as it would mean we would be able to bring in different types of players hopefully with higher quality, unfortunately the board didn't want to grant my wish...

View attachment 348250

Although we were unable to expand our scouting range, we were able to bring in some new scouts which will improve our knowledge of the talent within Asia and provide us with better reports.
Here's the scouts we brought in...

Super Cup + March

View attachment 348159

We now enter the Champions League after last season's successes, I'm not sure how we match up against the other teams in this competition so we'll just take as it comes and make no predictions.
We also have a chance to add another trophy to our collection in the Super Cup against Beijing.
Here's the fixtures...

View attachment 348158

Wuhan vs Beijing (21/2/18) Super Cup

View attachment 348156

This match is proof that we are the most dominant team within Chinese Football, Beijing are one our competitive rivals and they couldn't get near us.
It's good to start our season with a trophy, it gives us confidence going into the season and adds to my growing C.V.
Man Of The Match - Dong Xiandong

Wuhan vs Seoul (28/2/18) AFC Champions League

View attachment 348153

What an incredible comeback, Seoul were just way too strong for us for the majority of the game and it looked like we were easily beaten.
Looking at the stats as well we deserved the draw, but we struggled massively until the last 10 minutes or so where we produced this completely mad comeback.
Also nice to see us getting some bigger attendance as well.
Man Of The Match - **** Xiwen

Wuhan vs Shandong (10/4/18) Wanda Plaza Super League

View attachment 348152

I'm glad to return to normality after the madness of last game, although we nearly let our lead slip after an explosive start as we lost a bit of concentration early in the second half.
We kept attacking though and grabbed a well-worked 4th goal to clinch the win.
Man Of The Match - Bo Jiangshan

Muangthong United vs Wuhan (14/3/18) AFC Champions League

View attachment 348147

We struggled a little bit with our finishing in this match, we missed a lot of chances which we can't keep doing in this competition luckily their keeper made two huge mistakes to let us take the three points.
This is a very important win, it's get us our first win in the Champions League and the performance proves to me we can be competitive in this competition.
Also picking up three points in an away match put's us in a much stronger position in this group.
Man Of The Match - **** Xiwen

Giurare Yokohama vs Wuhan (21/3/18) AFC Champions League

View attachment 348145
A little bit disappointed with this draw because of the amount of chances we created and just couldn't convert, but the main aim of this game was not to lose as a draw away from home is a decent result in the group stages.
One major negative to take from this game is the injury to our box-to-box midfielder from Zeng Yongxuan who will miss a few important games
Man Of The Match - Li Lei

Not a bad month of results, we picked up a trophy to add to our collection and also stayed unbeaten in the Champions League.
This month gives us a good starting base to work from for the rest of the season.
Here's the League Table and Champions League Group standings..

Goal Of The Month

Incredible strike from **** Xiwen, it came at a very important time and helped us in the comeback against Seoul.

Player Of The Month

It's a sight were getting used to seeing, he's an incredible young player and I'm very happy to still have him after many clubs tried to sign him in the Transfer Window

April

View attachment 347988

This month is just crazy, its definitely our biggest test so far as we have 9 matches in 25 days.
We also have very important games in the League against strong teams like A'erbin and Beijing, we also have some crucial games in the Champions League which will determine whether we qualify for the knockout rounds.

We'll also to have make full use of our squad and is it will no doubt suffer from fatigue, I was just hoping we didn't pick up any big injuries.
Here's the extensive fixture list...

View attachment 347986

Dongya vs Wuhan (1/4/18) Wanda Plaza Super League

View attachment 347985

We really didn't deserve to win this game by such a big scoreline, Dongya really did match us all over the pitch apart from in-front of goal where we so unusually clinical.
Although as they always say, the best teams can win when they're not at their best and that's exactly what we did.
Man Of The Match - Ivan Vukovic

Seoul vs Wuhan (4/4/18) AFC Champions League

View attachment 347983

Huge win, I really didn't expect us to be getting such a good result as we really struggled with them in first leg defensively.
They did once again give us a really tough challenge except their were much poorer defensively, their full-backs are pretty poor, so i put Bo Jiangshan out on the wing to really exploit their weaknesses and it worked a treat as he picked up 3 assists.
The three points from this game put us in a much stronger position to qualify from the group.
Man Of The Match - Bo Jiangshan

Wuhan vs Fuli (8/4/18) Wanda Plaza Super League

View attachment 347980

Once again our problem of being complacent when we get a lead nearly caught us out, we really need to sort this out as we're not going to be able to ride our luck like this in the Champions League.
I think I need to be more tactically flexible and change tactics in-game when we get a lead in order to preserve it.
Man Of The Match - Bo Jiangshan

Wuhan vs A'erbin (11/4/18) Wanda Plaza Super League

View attachment 347979

We really didn't do ourselves any favours in this game, we were lucky not to concede a goal only that our keeper made some great saves.
It's a big win though as A'erbin are up there challenging us for the league title.
Man Of The Match - Dong Xiandong

Liaoning vs Wuhan (14/4/18) Wanda Plaza Super League

View attachment 347978

Probably a fair result, we just weren't at our usual best and we misplaced way too many passes.
At this point though we really were struggling with fatigue, we had to play players out of position and bring some of our youth players into the senior squad.
This month's schedule is just mad.
Man Of The Match - **** Shenggou

Wuhan vs Giurare Yokohama (18/4/18) AFC Champions League

View attachment 347977

This time our complacency really did punish us, thankfully after our impressive win against Seoul this draw didn't really put us in too bad of a position.
I'm not really sure how to solve this problem of conceding late goals though, I've tried changing our mentality during the game and also the tactic and nothing seems to work.
I have set the training to Defensive Positioning to try and solve the problem, our attacking play is outstanding so it shouldn't affect that too much.

Man Of The Match - Dong Xiandong

Beijing vs Wuhan (21/4/18) Wanda Plaza Super League
View attachment 347971

Another great win over Beijing, we seem to be their bogey team as we were nowhere near full-strength in this match and we still managed to scrape a win.
I think they've only managed to beat us once in 7 matches.
Man Of The Match - Dong Xiandong

Wuhan vs Muanthong Utd (25/4/18) AFC Champions League

View attachment 347969

Great performance and a very important win as it see's us qualify from our group in first place topping Seoul.
We were completely dominant in this match as the stats suggest, we were much better defensively and then took them apart on the counter.
Man Of The Match - **** Xiwen

Tianjin vs Wuhan (29/4/18) Wanda Plaza Super League

View attachment 347966

Just another routine dominant performance from us, not much to say about this game other than Dong Xiandong was expectional and was involved in all 5 goals.
Man Of The Match - Dong Xiandong

Honestly can't believe we did so well this month, we picked up so many injuries that players were forced to play in positions they were not familiar with and also some of the youth players got some unexpected playing time.
Luckily our squad seems to very versatile and strong and somehow we remained unbeaten this month, most importantly we qualified for the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
Here's the League Table and the final Group Standings...

View attachment 347960

We also got a very intersting draw in the Champions League...

Goal Of The Month

Probably the best goal we've scored since I've been managing Wuhan, actually got me properly excited XD

Player Of The Month

View attachment 347950

For once Bo Jiangshan didn't completly outshine everyone, Dong Xiandong was great this month picking up 7 goals in the 9 matches we played.

Nice one qualifying from the group, would be cool to see you win the whole thing
