Danny Drinkwater has handed in a transfer request to try to force through a move to Chelsea. Leicester want £40 million for him

Presumably, he must think that has a great chance of happening to do that at this late stage.

Gibbs isn't good enough defensively for a Pulis left back, so he'll probably play as a defensive winger

Window net spend sans any confirmation of Sakho, Drinkwater etc tomorrow.

Just shows outside of City how hard clubs have found it to get deals done.

Shows how much dead-wood City had to flog out.

Happy with United's window. 3/4 targets landed. We missed Perisic, they missed Sanchez, but both Manchester clubs can be very happy with their early work.

Liverpool had a decent window too. Kept Coutinho, added pace up top, sorted LB long term. Needed a CB though.

Huddersfield got in 13 players along with Watford so some teams didn't have much of a challenge, Brighton also added quite a few but fear for them with none of them being a striker

Sorry. I should have clarified at the top end of the market.

I didn't bother as there's very few regulars outside of fans of the top 6 clubs who are shopping in a completely different market but I forget how people pick up on non-specifics here. My bad.

Yeah but even at that, it was an all mighty struggle for Utd this summer.

You're currently sat with a CB he doesn't yet trust to play. Although everyones happy and he's started out scoring, a second choice striker. (Cue people claiming he was the target all along but that's purely on who you believe. With some very reputable journalists saying the complete opposite on Morata.). And only dropping lucky on the DM down to Chelse bizarrely handing one to you on a plate.

No club outside of City readily willing to well over pay to get their guys has had an easy window getting players the top end of the market.

And that goes across Europe for anyone not called PSG.

Thats the curse of the English money. Everyone in Europe knows you have it, so a bang average player's price goes up and a raw gem ain't worth taking a risk on as it might not work out. No wonder premier league clubs especially the promoted sides were struggling in the market.

The £92 million Monaco ended up wanting today was ridiculous for a 20-year old that's done nottin' the game and is still developing potential. Albeit excellent potential at that.

Mad that he wanted to come. Everything had been agreed with the player but they wanted more than the £75 million on the table. Because, like you say, they know we have it.

Frustrating but happy the club walked away from that one. Every player has to have a price before it just get's stupid.
