Whats the deal with Sherwood sitting in the stands btw?

Prob do the fact he kept getting **** from the press for his atire and body launguage in the tech box. (i know wtf). Just let the man learn his job whos give a **** if hes in a tracksuit or jumper, as long as he doesnt nut anyone. :)

Norwich City have sacked Chris Hughton with 5 games to go

and replaced him with the u18's manager until the end of the season.. absolutely ludicrous

I don't normally get surprised anymore with the way sackings are handled but this one is just......head scratching

Also fans have narrowly backed the proposed name change from Hull City to Hull Tigers. The owner didn't like Hull City as it sounded "common" and "lousy". Apparently the name change will make it more "marketable". I have an idea. Why doesn't this tosspot just **** off and leave the club alone? I hope the FA does the right thing and sticks to it's plan to reject the idea.

Absolutely raging about this

Only around 5000 season ticket holders voted out of 15000 or so, I'm from Hull know a lot of city fans and I find this outcome strange because everyone I know is against it so I wonder why the other 10000 didn't bother voting

I actually dont see anything that bad in what he is doing. He has put a lot of money into the club, and he does have the right to do what he wants. Its not like he is completely renaming them, or that he has pulled the "Tigers" out of no-where. The tigers are their nickname, so its not like they are overly changing much.

For the fans it is not just about changing the name he has ****** a lot of people off and not just through his comments about the fans, I'll try and be concise as I can with this because it's all a bit messy and there's a lot more to it than just a name change as to why a lot of people basically think allam is a **** and would just oppose him most likely for that reason

basically when he bought city Adam Pearson got brought back into the club then they fell out and Pearson left and bought hull fc who share the kc stadium. When allam bought city he also purchased the the stadium management company, which started being hostile to hull fc an example would be one of the airlie birds great rugby players jonny whitely has suite named after him in the kc with pictures etc because hull fc hadnt paid some kind of admin fee he went berserk and stripped the whitely suite of all memorabilia thus ******* off all the hull fc fans which a large contingent happen to be city fans too. (this happened after the next paragraph)

when allam bought hull yes he intervened in the financial meltdown but he also then had a little battle with the council thinking that they should just give him the kc stadium so he could build casinos and hotels on the stadium site the council flatly rejected and he did not like it and it was becoming apparent that (shock horror) mr allam was in this to make money. He currently has lent the other rugby team in the city hull kr a million pounds but there is confusion as to whether this is a gift or a loan it did stop them going bust but it would appear he is trying to negotiate some kind of deal to build on craven park but nothing is confirmed so I can't say for certain.

there is also the fact because the council rejected him over the kc stadium he has said in the media that he may move city to a site in Melton so he can build a stadium and his hotels but nothing has happened I think it is just an empty threat. There is more but this is the short version ;)

but anyway through his behaviour he has not made many friends in hull and the fans feel ****** off and worried about the identity of their club so you can see why they would oppose it not just because of the name change but because of everything on top of that

personally I dont think they should do it but I'm a traditionalist ;)

I didn't think he should've been given an 18-month contract, and still don't. Contracts virtually mean nothing in modern football, but it's still baffling why Spurs gave him such a long one (they'll have to pay him compensation now).

To be honest, though, most owners are in it for the money.

I am not sure how true that is because there are more clubs that lose money than make money and football is not an atypical business model for sound investment. For every arsenal there is a team like my own club leeds who have faced financial meltdown or even Italy where the full league faced a financial crisis because the tv deal went **** up

Well what else what most owners be in it for? I doubt the likes of John W. Henry, Randy Lerner or the Glazers are in it for sentimental reasons, and that's not even mentioning the sheikhs and oligarchs in football!

I fail to see how the sheikhs are in it for the money because sheikh Mansour has put in what over 500 million he is never getting that back same with abramovich he is never getting back what he put in those two are definitley not in it for the money. Then you have clubs like Norwich, Swansea, stoke, west ham etc who are owned by fans

I will agree on Lerner to an extent, Henry and Glazers 100 percent but you only have to go through the leagues to see that it is the minority who make money so I cannot agree.

Maybe, but I'd say then the majority of owners are in it in an attempt to make money or just for 'the fun of it' (which is probably the case for Abramovich and co.

I agree with that to an extent for instance if we are just talking premier league, but I just can't get my point out right now I've written and rewritten it 4 times been doing my dissertation all day brains not working :(

The reason they gave him an 18 month contract was it gives him a 'year' to get back on his feet in football due to the compensation payment.

He was youth manager before, and he wasn't going to be moving to his old role, so something new for him was necessary, it was more of a 'thanks for covering us Tim, I realise you'll get a lot of **** for this if it goes badly so here's an extra year contract to 1. show we have faith in you 2. preserve your career status regardless of what happends.

Considering the money in modern football, an extra 12 months of Sherwood's wage isn't killing anyone to pay.

As expected, the FA have rejected the proposed change to Hull City's name. Good. To say "let me change the name or I walk" to the FA and the fans just smacks of being a douchebag. You don't blackmail organisations or fans like that just because you dislike a team name, because it sounds "lousy" and "common".

His kind disgust me.

Vincent Tan said he would sell the club if he was ever forced to change the colours back to blue. At least the Hull fans aren't too concerned about the name change.
