In a feisty match at Eastlands it was once again the visitors who came out on top. The Red Devils opened the scoring in just 3 minutes after the ever developing Gustavo Amaya played a fabulous ball to fellow countryman Chicharito who turned and fired a powerful left footed shot past Joe Hart. Edin Dzeko grabbed a goal back in the 19th minute after firing in a powerful shot from range. Just before half time United got another goal back when Cristiano Ronaldo scored a powerful penalty to make it 2 - 1. In the final minute of the game Jordan Henderson was sent off for a second bookable offence, a bad end to his first Manchester derby.

Manchester United defeated Tottenham in a fantastic match at Old Trafford with once again the young Welshman pulling all the strings in midfield setting up 2 of United's 3 goals. The first goal came in the 18th minute when Marc Jones played a wonderful through ball for Chicharito who fired a powerful shot past the despairing Gomes. The second was a tap in after some great work from the young Mexican who drew the ball back for Wayne Rooney with an empty net to fire the ball into. Jones again set up Chicharito as he scored an audacious lobbed effort from outside the box. The two Portuguese stars Nani and Ronaldo combined brilliantly as the latter grabbed the final goal of the game with a headed effort after a wonderful cross.

United look to December Fixtures

After a fantastic November, Manchester United's focus turns to the December Fixtures. The Red Devils have performed fantastically well so far with new signing Cristiano Ronaldo showing exactly what Real Madrid are missing having scored 24 goals and assisting 15 more in just 22 matches for United. A fantastic contribution from the wonderful talent that he is, at 29 years old Manchester United will no doubt have plenty of time left to play and perform at the top level.

United look to continue cup run

Wedensday 3rd December 2014

carling.png

After a fantastic November, Manchester United turn to their first fixture in December being a match against Birmingham City in the Quarter Final of the League Cup. It is expected that Manchester United will be naming a weakened team in preparation for the coming Premier League and Champions League fixture that lies ahead. Birmingham City have only just sacked their manager Mark Hughes and have replaced him with Israeli Avram Grant, who was removed from his position as West Ham boss after failing to meet the board expectations.

Pre Match Analysis

Looking at the starting 11's it's possible to see that Manchester United have made 11 changes to their squad bringing in some experience and some youngsters in a bid to qualify for the Semi Final. With strong forward Boakye and explosive striker Michael Nelson leading the line there is plenty of pace and power in a bid to put pressure on the Birmingham City back four. Antonio Valencia has been in sensational form on the right flank in the Carling Cup and he once again starts after scoring 4 goals in his first 2 games in the competition. Juan Manuel Vargas also comes in on the left wing and has somewhat slipped down the pecking order at Old Trafford but is no doubt still an important player on the fringes of the squad.

MoM: Antonio Valencia (8.8)

Manchester United's shadow squad ran out comfortable winners against Birmingham City in the Carling Cup Quarter Final, with once again Antonio Valencia starring putting in a fabulous performance down the right flank. Manchester United looked to get right on the front foot and they certainly did that with Juan Manuel Vargas picking up the ball just outside the area from Boakye before firing in a first time powerful shot past the despairing Ben Foster. 9 Minutes later Boakye got on the scoresheet after an exquisite ball played over the top by Antonio Valencia left the powerful Ghanaian to run free and place a wonderful finish past the keeper. The final goal came in the 85th minute and capped a masterful performance from the Ecuadorian when he scored a tidy finish from a Juan Manuel Vargas cross to the far post.

United look to continue good form

Saturday 6th November 2014

28228.png

Manchester United look ahead to fixtures against Sunderland and APOEL as they look to continue their fantastic run of form in both Europe and the League. Sunderland lead by ex Burnley manager Eddie Howe has declared that his side will 'go for it' against the Red Devils. Whether this is going to be a bold decision of not will soon be seen when they meet in the Stadium of Light. Sunderland so far this season have been in great form and are lying in 5th position with 24 points from their first 15 matches. They are currently unbeaten at home and will no doubt look to continue this run against Manchester United. It's worth noting that last years equivalent fixture ended up in a 3 - 0 victory for he Red Devils.

MoM: Nani (9.7)

A sensational hat trick from Portuguese winger Nani propelled United to an unexpected 6 - 1 win over Sunderland. United got off to a fantastic start with Nani heading the ball back to Gustavo Amaya who from the edge of the area fired a fantastic shot in off the bar. This lead was short lived as just 4 minutes later it was the Red Devils who were picking the ball out of their net when Roy Beerens scored a close range volley after a corner caused chaos in the Champions' penalty area. Marc Jones put the Red Devils back into the lead after picking up the ball on the edge of the area before bombing forward and firing a powerful shot past the keeper.

The game then became the Nani show as his first came when he scored a fantastic curling shot from the edge of the area. His second came when he linked up with Cristiano Ronaldo heading in from one of his crosses. After Rooney was brought down in the area, Nani volunteered to step up and slotted home with consummate ease. Jonny Evans completed the scoring after heading in from a Marc Jones corner. A fantastic yet unexpected victory for the Red Devils.

This completes Manchester United's fantastic run in the qualification stage scoring 34 goals in just a matter of 6 matches. After the match striker Javier Hernandez spoke about his delight at playing for Manchester United.

"This is a fantastic club, we have great players, and I hope I can continue to bring the level of success that we have already achieved." Chicharito said, "We look forward to the draw for the next round and will not fear anyone, to win these tournaments you have to beat the best so we will be ready for anyone."

Roberto Mancini sacked from Arsenal

Thursday 11th December 2014

28228.png

Arsenal head coach Roberto Mancini has been relieved of his duties following yesterday's 1 - 1 home draw against Greek side Panathinaikos.

The result just compounds the terrible form that Arsenal have been suffering from this season under the Italian - they are currently lying in 12th position with 21 points - and a statement on the club's website confirmed Mancini has been removed from the position of manager.

Assistant manager Franco Baldini will take over on a caretaker basis whilst a replacement is south.

mancinipic-540807707.jpg

All over: Mancini frustrated in 1 - 1 draw against a poor Panathinaikos side

Arsenal's Coach Paul Power have also left the club as part of the move.

Chairman Peter Hill-Wood said. "This has been a tough decision but we, as a board, believe it is the right one to give the club the best possible chance of continuing to compete at the top end of the Premier League."

"Our poor sequence of results stretches back for more than three months now and there has been little signs of of it coming to an end."

"If this run continues much longer, achieving our goals of finishing in the top four will become increasingly difficult. That is why we felt compelled to act now."

The main problem for Arsenal in the league this season has been scoring goals having only scored 12 goals in their 15 league games, only winning 5 of those 15. A record a club like Arsenal should not be suffering.

some fantastic scores there again mate! scored loads in the champions league group stages! :O im amazed! APOEL got it bad! :L lol and sunderland! :) nice update on Mancini too! love the story so far :)
