Thanks mate :) it took a fair while to do it, but worth it when you get opinions like that!! I really did fear the worst when went down to 10 men, but it really didn't seem to make a difference at all!

Done my first TV update so any help with it is much appreciated as I don't think it's good at all.

******* fantastic

Haha cheers buddy :)

United's Rooney receives 3 match ban

Thursday 5th February 2015

England and Manchester United vice Captain Wayne Rooney receives a 3 match ban and a charge of violent conduct for his actions in the Premier League match against Arsenal on 4th February. This will no doubt be a huge loss for Manchester United over the coming games.

Wayne Rooney accepted the charge, which relates to the incident involving a jumping two footed tackle into Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen who was lucky to be able to continue after the incident. The charge was raised after the match when the video footage was analysed by Premier League officials.

Wayne Rooney will miss matches against Newcastle, Bolton and Burnley whilst serving his 3 match ban, and will return for the League Cup Final where the side face Blackpool at Wembley Stadium. It is likely that Sir Ryan Giggs will be giving young striker Boakye a chance to show what he can do against Newcastle at least, and potentially play him alongside Chicharito as this will be the perfect opportunity.

Unfortunate about the 3 match ban, but at least he'll be back for the League Cup, plus the games he's out for shouldnt be too difficult :)

Indeed, just doing the Newcastle update coz I forgot I had an International game after that and always like to have a break indeed the posts of club and country. What you think of that Arsenal update?

Great write up, dont see that much detail in many stories :P great writing all the way through :)

United travel to face Newcastle

Sunday 8th February 2015

680.png

Manchester United have travelled north to face Alan Pardew's Newcastle side in a match where the Northerners will be desperate to get something from, the Toon Army is currently lying in 17th position level on points with Portsmouth and just 3 points ahead of Wigan in 19th. If Newcastle want to keep their Premier League status then it will be important that they get points where they are not necessarily. The main problem seem's to be Newcastle's home record having only won 2 out of their 14 matches and losing 8, the atmosphere is beginning to get tense with the fans knowing that the club only has 12 games to save their season and their downward spiral has been rapid so far.

Newcastle previous 20 fixtures
NewcastleResults.png

As it's possible to see Newcastle's only success so far in the last 20 matches have been against Bolton and Burnley having started the season in great form, but this quickly descended into a long winless run beginning after the win comfortable win over Burnley.

Alan Pardew said:
"It's really important that we pick up some results the winless run that we're currently on. People don't expect us to get anything from this match against Manchester United and this is the type of game that is the perfect game to turn things around.

They are missing Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic so this is no doubt a fantastic opportunity to face them, although that boy Sam Merritt has been fantastic for them and to keep a clean sheet against Arsenal with 10 men shows that this team has unbelievable quality.

Both teams line up in a 4 - 4 - 2 formations with United starting with 21 year old Boakye and 16 year old Sam Merritt once again. It is expected to be a lively affair with both teams having plenty to prove. Boakye will no doubt be aiming to have a good impact coming in for the suspended Wayne Rooney.

Sir Ryan Giggs said:
"(on Boakye inclusion) He has been knocking on my door asking to have a start in the league, and you can't say no when you see this boys record, 11 goals in 7 cup games, unbelievable for a player of his age, great prospect. He'll be alongside our little assassin Hernandez and of course Sam comes in at defence again. I have been looking forward to this match games vs Newcastle are always exciting affairs."

MoM: Boakye (8.7)

Manchester United brushed aside a plucky Newcastle side at St James' Park today as they ran out comfortable 4 - 0 winners. No surprises who got the opening goal as young striker Boakye got on the end of a Patrice Evra cross to head in from close range. The second was heart break for Tim Krul who after having a powerful Cristiano Ronaldo free kick fired at goal spilled the ball into his own net making it 2 - 0 to United just after the break. Cristiano Ronaldo then scored his penalty when he was brought down by Alan Hutton. The final goal came in after a fantastic flowing move that saw Gareth Bale push forward down the left flank and play a great ball into the 6 yard box for Gustavo Amaya to get on to the end of it to score his 5th league goal of the season.

Good result again, Liking the manager comments before the games etc. another great update :)

Mate, this story is amazing! You deserve so much credit for this :D

Wales face Scotland in
Carling Four Nations Cup Challenge

Tuesday 10th February 2015

801.png

The Carling Nations Cup returns to our TV screens and it's time to look at the competition between the World Cup winners and the World Cup runners up, in a match that the Welsh have certainly had the better of in recent times, with Wales winning all of the four meetings between the two teams under Sir Ryan Giggs with an aggregate score of 11 - 5.

Walesvsscotlandfixutres.png

There is no doubt that the Scottish players will still be hurting after that dramatic World Cup Final loss and Scotland will no doubt be hoping to get their Carling Four Nations Cup campaign off to a winning start. Wales have won consecutive CFNC Titles winning all 6 of the games so far in the competitions existence.

There has been a surprise inclusion in the Welsh squad with a young Cardiff defender Gwyn Hopkins being included, he is 18 years old and has been plying his trade in the Championship playing 20 matches so far this season and has put in a string of good performances, Sir Ryan Giggs feels that this is the perfect opportunity to give the young defender his debut, likely coming in for Swansea centre back Ashley Williams.

Wales once again got the better of Craig Levein's Scottish side at Cardiff City Stadium today and it was in no part down to a fantastic performance by West Ham's Jack Collison. The midfielder, who plies his trade on the right side of Wales' midfield put in a fantastic shift scoring a goal and assisting another. The first goal of the day came in the 29th minute a cross from Gareth Bale crossed the ball into the middle with Ched Evans picking it up and playing the ball to Collison who fired in a left foot shot past the keeper. The second was a howler from Craig Gordon who was wasting time on the ball before Gareth Bale put in a great tackle and placed the ball into an empty net. The final goal once again came thanks to that boy Jack Collison once again who played Ched Evans into space to turn and shoot past Craig Gordon, a comfortable victory for Wales.

United prepare for Russian challenge

Saturday 14th February 2015

680.png

Ahead of Manchester United's trip to Russia for their match against Spartak Moscow on Wednesday they face a Bolton side who have been under performing so far this season finding themselves in 17th position dropping below Newcastle by 1 point, and are just 1 point from safety with Portsmouth in 18th position.

680.png
Unavailable United players: Nemanja Vidic (suspension), Wayne Rooney (suspension), Rafael (dead leg), Gustavo Amaya (tired)

So with Manchester United missing four of their key players it's time for them to prepare for the clash with Bolton Wanderers. It is likely that Andy King will come in central midfield alongside Marc Jones and Patrice Evra who impressed at right back against Newcastle will come in, in defence for United.

In just 5 minutes Manchester United crushed any hope of a Bolton result as they ran out 3 - 0 winners today at Old Trafford today. The scoring was opened by Wales star Andy King a powerful finish after some great work from the sensational winger Nani. Boakye then worked the ball down the left flank in great fashion to put a wonderful ball across for Chicharito to beat David Wheater in the air and power a header into the net. The game then seemed to slow down, with United continuing to create chances but not managing to put them away eventually the goal came when David Beckham came off the bench to put a wonderful set corner kick into the box for Luis Nani to fire a powerful shot past the keeper.

United arrive in Russia for Champions League Clash

Wednesday 18.2.2015

1301394.png

With the Champions League 1st Knockout Stage about to get under way Manchester United prepare to face Spartak Moscow which will no doubt be a tight affair. Aiden McGeady will be playing against Manchester United today who has been in brilliant form since moving to Russia from Celtic. Manchester United will be playing the returning Rafael, Nemanja Vidic and Wayne Rooney as they are eligible as they only have a domestic ban, whilst Rafael has recovered from his dead leg.

MoM: Cristiano Ronaldo (9.7)

Manchester United look dead certs to gain qualification to the next round after a fantastic performance from the Red Devils in Russia. This was in no part down to a sensational hat trick scored by Cristiano Ronaldo. His first came in the 16th minute after some fabulous work by Wayne Rooney who looked back to his best after coming out of suspension for the European tie. Polyovyi then grabbed an equaliser with a well struck shot from the edge of the area. But this was short lived with Chicharito then grabbed his first of the day after Ronaldo's shot rebounded to the Mexican's feet to fire into the back of the net.

Rooney was again the provider for Cristiano Ronaldo after breaking through the Spartak defence before crossing for Cristiano to slide one in at the far post. The final goal came in the 90th minute after some wonderful interplay between the two Portuguese stars with Nani crossing for Ronaldo to slide on in at the far post. Cristiano Ronaldo showed that he can score poachers efforts as well as brilliant goals today.
