Was hard to split this from the Chelsea game or even the draw with Spurs when we were down to 10 men for 60 minutes but with the amount of injurys and bans we had on this day

Made a slow start to life in the top flight due to injurys but came up big in December mainly off the bench but still enough to win an award in our greatest month so far!

Winter Transfer Policy
With the money coming in i hope to reap the rewards of two years scouting the world and nosing into other people saves to sign a large squad of u21 & u18 players. Most of which turned me down in the summer but may be more interested now that were a contender!

30 years old and unemployed following a poor season at Liverpool with only 7 appearances he's joined the Owls and is having a second wind to his time in the Premiership

Transfer Window
Chelsea make £5m profit on both Baba Rahman & Hakim Ziyech using the profits to buy Andrew Robertson from Hull. Newcastle complete a £8m move for Bernard Mensah

Sheff Weds

10 players joing the club. 8 go into the youth team while we grab two bargains of the century off the Transfer List

Christian Benteke - £8m
View attachment 199446

Saul - £8m
View attachment 199445

Both players were transfer listed by big European sides and thanks to the boards investment we could easily afford the £8m each required for these two players. Didnt really need Saul but will move talent around to make space for them.

The other 8 join the youth team but will all see action for the 1st team except Situaru who rejoined his team on loan till the summer.

So its Tottenham vs Arsenal for the title nobody else is close. The battle for the other 2 Champions League spots is far more interesting. Man Utd should get one of those spot 4 points ahead of City and ourselves. All have tough schedules and all have to play either Arsenal or Spurs. We also have to play Chelsea who have no tough games but should be out of it 5 points behind.

Tottenham secured the title with a game to spare so there focus was not really on our game perhaps. Sadly we couldnt hold onto our lead. If we had then we would have secured Champions League football but we'll be more than happy to take a spot in the Europa League with our young squad.

Season 2016/17 Review

The aim was just to survive and we managed that by 31 points and in doing secured Europa League football for next season. Looked through most of February and March that we had a great shot at the Champions League positions but our form at the end of the season ended those dreams.
Shockers of the season were Chelsea. They did thrash us during the run in but finishing 2nd will keep them out of Europe next season after a poor start from Jose Laurent Blanc came in and never managed to turn it around. Defensive legends of the 90s Fernando Hierro & Frank De Boer combined to win only 4 games and relegate Crystal Palace. Liverpool's Roberto Mancini & relegated Ipswich, Mick McCarthy were also sacked.
Tottenham went on to complete the double beating Man Utd in the FA Cup
Further down the leagues Rotherham have a player manager. 44 year old Roberto Carlos

Adam Johnson & Luiz Adriano were superstars in the first half of the season while players from the championship Cubas & Bentancur carried on there good form. Benteke will have to play much better to keep his spot in the team

After last summers struggle we manage to keep most of our star players only loosing one starting player.
Almost all our transfer action was to build an amazing u18 team and we'll continue to buy lots of youth as long as we keep a solid spine to our first team
Great news on the world cup, Hope this happens in real life.

FA & League Cups - Back up teams
Europa League - Knock out Phase

The club wants a cup run but full focus is on the League & Europe.

Starting team 2017

Sticking with the counter tactics from last season. We sometimes dragged our wingers back in tougher games. Vallejo is the only change to the defense replacing Lovren who's loan deal ended. If we make lots of money Valejo may stay next season. Expect more rotation with our wingers now Zivkovic has left and we've got two amazing youngsters in Odengaard & Lozano joining. Benteke remains as our lone top drawer striker.
