We'll see, Frimpong wouldn't have got a game with Khedira and Beckham there. Ter Stegan is a mile better than Butland and Cavani was on high wage and I wanna give Bertoli a chance

Monthly Review


So a good month, we went down early to West Ham and struggled. I did play a slightly weakened side though. Bertoli has stepped up just like I hoped . He also got 1st and 2nd in Goal of the Month and got YPOTM.

Monthly Review


Another solid month. All pretty simple wins, I was happy with the victories over Liverpool and Dortmund but they scrapped a draw over Madrid to blow the group wide open as we will probably lose to Madrid. Rodrigo buried a peno to get us a win over Bolton as I fielded our back ups. Oh yeah we cleaned up in the POTM awards

Monthly Review

An okay month. We were shocking against Sunderland though and Carlos Fierro rescued us as we came from 2 down. The City match was absolutely mental, shocking defending from both teams and Bertoli got sent off for the most insane tackle I think I've seen there was no point in him making that challenge. Madrid swept us aside, what annoyed me most was Fierro was put clean through on goal hit the post Marcelo just lumped it forward and Higuin was suddenly clean through and he netted -__- I hate this game sometimes.

Fleetwood made me worry massively I simply could not lose to them!! So close though with Dennis Walter levelling on his debut with a brilliant goal, it went to extra time and I sent on Fierro who rescued us . The Arsenal game was simple after Song was sent off, Lallana's goal was amazing though!!

We finished top which is obviously good considering we had Russia in our group and everyone knows how dodgy International football can be, one bad/unexpected result can mess everything up. We scored an incredible amount of goals too,, leaked a fair few though but I always do with my tactic.

Adam Lallana hotly tipped to win Ballon d'Or

Southampton's Adam Lallana is an early favourite to break Lionel Messi's strangle hold on the Ballon d'Or. It would be a sensational achievement as no Englishman since Michael Owen in 2001 has won the award, also no Southampton player in history has been blessed with the award.

Adam Lallana issued this statement:

''Obviously I haven't won anything yet but I'm chuffed to bits to even be considered for such a sensational award, there's no greater personal achievement. I would like to say a massive thank you to all my team mates and manager Sam Birch. Hopefully I can become the first Englishman since Michael Owen and first Saint to ever win the Ballon d'Or.''

Monthly Review


A mental month of results, our defence was so leaky but attack was sensational!! What more to say... mental!! Strong results though and through in the Champions League. Annoying that ter Stegan got injured for so long James Hunter isn't good enough for this level but we'll have to tough it out.


Fierro scored a brilliant overhead kick and Shaw scored a sensational cross/shot goal. Fierro won YPOTM and Bertoli came second. Kevin De Bruyne has been sensational this month though.
