It's close between us and Dortmund now for the title!
And honestly I believe if we get a positive result against them when we play them, the title would be ours to lose, or win!
Bayern are more or less out of the title chase...
I'm planning to get the team ready for the season close run, and look at the positives and negatives from this season, with a view to searching for potential targets..
My primary transfer target is Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, the 22y.o central midfielder from Bayern.. He can play DM, CM, CB and a number of other positions. An amazing talent, I'd consider a bid of $45-60m for him!
Currently I have Kondogbia, Verratti, Khedira, Sahin, Oliver, Kristoffer Ajer, Pastore and a couple of youngsters..
Sahin is unhappy with his playing time, and I guess he's served his purpose here, and this summer he might be gone..
Oliver again is unhappy with playing time, but I would like to hold on to him as he still has potential to improve..
Pastore came with a lot of hype, and has failed to impress here. No worries as we can easily make a profit on him, and I'm looking at selling him when the window opens.
Verratti would stay with us surely, and form a first choice partnership alongside Hojbjerg if he arrives.
Kondogbia has been good. Very good in a few games, but has already been sent off twice this season. There are still about 9-12 games or so this season he has to impress, and if he fails to do so, he might be out. Whatever fee we receive for him would be spent on another similar DM.
Considering the goalkeeper position, we have Handanovic and Horn as the main GK's. Horn for me has been the better player of the 2.As such, if we can get a younger and reliable GK, Handanovic might be out.
Shawcross, De Vrij, Gimenez, Carl Davies and Papadopoulos are our main CB's..
Shawcross has been consistent, but with Ginter coming in, it's the aging Shawcross who moves out of the door.
Papadopoulos has been very very good, so has been our captain De Vrij... Gimenez came in this January, and is definitely staying for a long time.
So not exactly looking to change a lot of things here, but well, we shall see as money rules!
Mario Fernandes at RB is as good as one can get. He is solid defensively, while also contributes when attacking. So he will stay on. Behind him are a couple of youngsters, so we are effectively covered for this area.
Ylli Sallahi has had a lot of interest in him, but there's no way he would leave. Now, there's this thing.. that Sallahi's PA is nothing extraordinary, but for me he has been a very consistent player, and is probably the only player in the team from when I took over!
Ruben Barbosa is a very young option behind him, and the other Ruben was brought only as a back up and rotate with, and there's all the chance I'd look to sell Ruben after the World Cup!
Alex Oxlade Chamberlain has been a WOW player on the right wing, and the young Venancio is a good enough second choice.. Also, there's in no way AOC will be sold anytime soon, so this area is covered for a long, long time!
Munir and Calhanoglu have been the left attacking players in general. Calhanoglu is HG at the club, and the highest earner at $175k/w(new contract)... Munir very much might be sold for mega bucks! He came in for a free, and despite being consistent and very good, there's a possibility I would look to bring in someone else for him!
Paco Alcacer and Destro are the primary strikers, though Calhanoglu has played majority of the games as a F9! So, Destro because of his inconsistent form is likely to be sold, with Alcacer having impressed in the last few games.
Luka Jovic is out in loan at Bremen, and he would provide cover...
