WONDERKIDS WATCHLIST

A couple young players I have been tracking... but unlikely to make a bid for either due to very, very, VERY HIGH fee demand by their respective clubs!

This RB looks like the real deal...

And finally, United get the Pogba they failed with previously!

MARCH REVIEW

The month of March began with a strong and dominant win against Nurnberg. It was Sallahi's 100th game for the club, and he scored 2 penalties, and missed one!
View attachment 231342

This is how the table looked like after the game against Nurnberg. 9 more league games to go, including games against Bayern & Dortmund!!
View attachment 231341

So there is Bayern game gone! We were the better side, and I don't mind this draw. We have taken 4 points out of 6 against Bayern this season!
View attachment 231340

Drawing the game we have more or less achieved our target for the season!
View attachment 231339

And here's another new contract for me.
View attachment 231338

Trailing 1-0, we went into this game believing we could overturn that deficit, and wanted to let every team know that we are here for a reason! And what a game!!!
View attachment 231337

A very nice and dominant game, Khedira got his 1st goal for us..
View attachment 231336

International friendly game against South Africa, and I decided to give young players and fringe players a chance to impress before the WC'18!
View attachment 231335

A good win here, dominating performance...

CL QUARTERFINAL DRAW
View attachment 231334
We play Liverpool who are a very good side, and look amazing with their players! Tough, tough ask!

WOW! Can't believe we won this game... We were just sitting back, absorbing pressure, and attacking on the counter. Went with a slightly rotated team here...
View attachment 231332

28 games gone, 6 to go!!!
View attachment 231331

Looking good in the league nice win against Copenhagen in the CL looks a challenging tie vs Liverpool

It's close between us and Dortmund now for the title!

And honestly I believe if we get a positive result against them when we play them, the title would be ours to lose, or win!

Bayern are more or less out of the title chase...

I'm planning to get the team ready for the season close run, and look at the positives and negatives from this season, with a view to searching for potential targets..

My primary transfer target is Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, the 22y.o central midfielder from Bayern.. He can play DM, CM, CB and a number of other positions. An amazing talent, I'd consider a bid of $45-60m for him!
Currently I have Kondogbia, Verratti, Khedira, Sahin, Oliver, Kristoffer Ajer, Pastore and a couple of youngsters..
Sahin is unhappy with his playing time, and I guess he's served his purpose here, and this summer he might be gone..
Oliver again is unhappy with playing time, but I would like to hold on to him as he still has potential to improve..
Pastore came with a lot of hype, and has failed to impress here. No worries as we can easily make a profit on him, and I'm looking at selling him when the window opens.
Verratti would stay with us surely, and form a first choice partnership alongside Hojbjerg if he arrives.
Kondogbia has been good. Very good in a few games, but has already been sent off twice this season. There are still about 9-12 games or so this season he has to impress, and if he fails to do so, he might be out. Whatever fee we receive for him would be spent on another similar DM.

Considering the goalkeeper position, we have Handanovic and Horn as the main GK's. Horn for me has been the better player of the 2.As such, if we can get a younger and reliable GK, Handanovic might be out.

Shawcross, De Vrij, Gimenez, Carl Davies and Papadopoulos are our main CB's..
Shawcross has been consistent, but with Ginter coming in, it's the aging Shawcross who moves out of the door.
Papadopoulos has been very very good, so has been our captain De Vrij... Gimenez came in this January, and is definitely staying for a long time.
So not exactly looking to change a lot of things here, but well, we shall see as money rules!

Mario Fernandes at RB is as good as one can get. He is solid defensively, while also contributes when attacking. So he will stay on. Behind him are a couple of youngsters, so we are effectively covered for this area.

Ylli Sallahi has had a lot of interest in him, but there's no way he would leave. Now, there's this thing.. that Sallahi's PA is nothing extraordinary, but for me he has been a very consistent player, and is probably the only player in the team from when I took over!
Ruben Barbosa is a very young option behind him, and the other Ruben was brought only as a back up and rotate with, and there's all the chance I'd look to sell Ruben after the World Cup!

Alex Oxlade Chamberlain has been a WOW player on the right wing, and the young Venancio is a good enough second choice.. Also, there's in no way AOC will be sold anytime soon, so this area is covered for a long, long time!

Munir and Calhanoglu have been the left attacking players in general. Calhanoglu is HG at the club, and the highest earner at $175k/w(new contract)... Munir very much might be sold for mega bucks! He came in for a free, and despite being consistent and very good, there's a possibility I would look to bring in someone else for him!

Paco Alcacer and Destro are the primary strikers, though Calhanoglu has played majority of the games as a F9! So, Destro because of his inconsistent form is likely to be sold, with Alcacer having impressed in the last few games.
Luka Jovic is out in loan at Bremen, and he would provide cover...

In case anyone has any suggestions regarding transfers please leave your comments...

Hojbjerg would be a great transfer had him on a save was a world class CM

Hojbjerg would be a great transfer had him on a save was a world class CM

Never managed him previously, but read somewhere that the game's main developers had stated that Hojbjerg is among the best in this edition...
His stats look top class honestly, and as he's still pretty young, there's a very good chance he's gonna improve..

I prefer playing a Regista in the holding role, and Hojbjerg seemed to be the best choice, hence why I am looking forward to signing him.. Now it is only a matter of time when our bid is accepted and he signs for us!

APRIL REVIEW

We welcomed Liverpool at home in the 1st leg of CL quarters, and we absolutely dominated them! Almost twice the shots, and 150% possession, that was amazing. But they got the goal, and we didn't to make the task all the more difficult, virtually impossible for us to go through to the next round!
View attachment 231092

With eyes set on the away game against Liverpool next, a large number of youth and fringe players featured in this game, and I must say I would have taken a draw before the game bagan!
View attachment 231091

And that is Liverpool for everyone! Amazing attacking team, it's a surprise how we kept them silent for so long when they came to play the first leg!
Still, proud of the boys- they gave their all! Again we bow out at the same stage as last year, when we faced Manchester City in the QF's!
View attachment 231090

A win is a win, and I'd take it anyhow it comes. Any dropped points at this stage would be very difficult to make up for! Dortmund are right at us in the league, and we can't afford to slip away!
View attachment 231089

German Cup semi final game and we are into the finals! Thrice in a row! Can we win a hat-trick of German Cups?
View attachment 231088

This was poor. Poor in defence, and not efficient in attack! 3 dropped points... they might end up hurting us!
View attachment 231087

A big big blow! Calhanoglu is out for the rest of the season!
View attachment 231086

This was better.. With Dortmund keeping us on our toes, we had to take control of this game and get the important win! And that we did!!!

TRANSFER UPDATE

With us out of the CL, I put my attention to the league this season, and looking to address the team for the next season- strengthening some key areas that I felt need to be upgraded if we are to challenge and consolidate even more.

Which brings me to the following signings-

View attachment 231080

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Mateo Kovacic will both join us next season and form a formidable central midfield partnership alongside Marco Verratti.
Both these players are excellent, though expensive additions to the KSC team, whose primary aim next season would be to challenge for title domestically, and also attempt to go further in Europe!

MAY REVIEW

Two games left in the season, and we sit 6 points clear of Dortmund in 2nd.. The thing is, we face them next!
If we lose both & Dortmund win their 2 games, they would be the champion!

We went knowing that a point would win us a title, and look at that performance- pathetic!
What good is that possession % if we can't make it count!
View attachment 231077

Final game... if we lose and Dortmund win, title is theirs. If we draw or win, the title is ours no matter what happens in the Dortmund match. If they fail to win their game, title is ours, no matter the result in our game!

This was the line up I went with.. Balance all around, hoping to get the win and the title in front of our home fans!
View attachment 231076

THE CROWNED CHAMPIONS!!!!! Excellent performance from the go. The boys knew our fortune was in our hands, and they made sure we win this game!
View attachment 231075

View attachment 231074

German Cup Final... We went into the finals the third time in 3 years, and missed just by "this much"!
View attachment 231072

Fernandes really has been the best RB in the league, undoubtedly!!

FRIENDLY MATCHES

4 Friendly games to be played before we go for the WC games in Russia...

I asked the boys to keep it simple, and build up some fitness before we step up! A dominating game, no goals there, but these are players who basically play in different countries and clubs!
View attachment 231028

Against a strong Spain side, we played well. Solid defensively, and scored important goals. This game is a prequel to the 1st group game!
View attachment 231027

Honestly I was hoping for a rout here, but it wasn't to be! Anyway, absolutely dominating game, and a rotated team to build up fitness!
View attachment 231026

I guess we can say we are ready for the WC! Changed formation and tactics, and looked to hold less possession, and we did well on the counter!
View attachment 231025

* Eder, our striker got injured and he's out for 2 months! Nani was called to replace him...
Josue, the attacking midfielder and set-piece specialist is also injured and would miss the group games. He would only feature if we progress to the next round!

Well done on the league title, knew you'd get it eventually! :D

Knocked Bayern off their perch!!! Finally!!

Going on with the WC group stage now.. :)

I need a GK for 1st team, and am looking at Scuffet, Ter Stegen, Bernd Leno.. but they are all expensive! Leno is cheapest at $44m release clause, Ter Stegen is $80m, & Udinese want way way too much for Scuffet ($70m+)!!

No negotiation possible for Scuffet?? Not even a little bit?

Well if anything Leno could be the one, maybe about 35-40M? How are his stats looking?
