Why you asking us? Surely Oliver Kahn knows a good keeper when he see's one ;)

NOVEMBER

We played struggling Hannover to start the month, and well, I guess they needed the 3 points way more than us, and in the end that showed in the result!
View attachment 237764

There was another couple of weeks to go before the next game, and we had a lot of work to be done- conceding late into the games is not a good thing!
The lads need to be mentally stronger, and we worked on that over the next few days, while playing a friendly against Leverkusen, and losing 1-0!

Stuttgart, a point above us, and our rivals! This game was to be special for the fans.
And what a performance to show! 2-0 down in 15 minutes, the lads kept working after that.
Weiser tormented with his pace! (Tremendous pace and acceleration the lad has- 16/17!)
And Josue scored a brace to earn us the bragging rights!
View attachment 237763

Paderborn are struggling, down in the 18th place, rock bottom!
And they were leading 2-0 in half an hour against us!
But our new signing who joined us for free mid-season, Goran Pandev scored 2 goals in as many minutes to be sure of getting a good treatment in the dressing room come half-time!
I just told the boys to go on, keep the belief up, and well, Wilson scored off a lovely+thumping+amazing free-kick from Sallahi that rebounded off the post!

End of November, after 14 games, this is how the table looks now!
HAPPY :)

I think you've just answered your own question then ;)

Probably.. What I wanted to know was whether it would be better to sign him now with fee, or try to lure him later on a free!

Begovic IMO is one of the best keepers in the world right now - and relatively young for a top-class GK as well.

Does Hildebrand want to become a staff member when he retires? Would be great to have him work with the other three - if he has the right attributes... ;)

Hildebrand is decent, will look to make him join as a coach. I currently have Ballack, Materazzi, Van Bommel, Raul- some of international players among my coaches!

Why you asking us? Surely Oliver Kahn knows a good keeper when he see's one ;)

YES, he knows it!

GK:
Koen Casteels
Ben Amos
Timo Hildebrand
(Asmir Begovic)

So I guess I'll have to sell one this winter window with Asmir Begovic coming in..
Casteels or Amos?
Casteels= higher value, more wages.. and I have a soft spot for Amos after the last season.
Hildebrand's contract is running out this summer.

RB:
Ryan McLaughlin - loan
Eric Dier - loan
Edgar Le
Cristian Trasch

Might look to buy a first team player at the end of the season, not overly concerned about the RB slot as of now.

LB:
Ylli Sallahi
Christian Fuchs
Steinhart

Sallahi and Fuchs are as good as I could have a player for this position.
Might entertain bids for Fuchs at the end of the season, and buy a back-up LB maybe, and offer Sallahi a new contract!

CB:
Fabian Schar
Materazzi
Slobodan Rajkovic
Cho Yong-Hyung
Manuel Gulde
(Lisandro Lopez)

Lisandro Lopez will be joining this January, he is a very nice CB, and a deal for him was agreed last season from SLB.
As such, and with Dier also capable of playing CB, Gulde might be sold now. Cho Yong-Hyung as well if we can get offers. Unfortunately for him he has been injured, and with a decent back 2-3-4, I can't risk breaking that momentum.
Maybe 1-2 new CB's in the summer if we sell another player.

DM:
Ruben Neves - loan
Kristoffer Ajer
Thomas Partey
Lewis Baker - loan

The players on loan are awesome, but there's no way I could sign either atm!
Ruben Neves has a $22-24m release clause iirc, while Chelsea want $40m+ for Baker!
These players would last till summer, at which time I might look to get someone new.
Gokhan Inler is available for $1m, and I'm inclined to sign him. He's a senior player, tonnes of experience, and could be fine.. or maybe someone else?

CM:
Sergi Roberto
Lucho Gonzalez

Baker is the other option here. Sergi Roberto is no nonsense first team player, and shall continue at that. Lucho is 34, and with Baker departing this season end, might have to buy someone good for this position.
My targets- both Lucas Romero and Gaston Gil Romero!

AMC:
Josue
Joao Teixeira
Alexandru Maxim
Moi Gomez - loan

In Josue I have one of the best AMC's, though vastly underrated! He is among the leading assist maker in the league. Maxim is decent as well.
Quintero on loan maybe, or someone else as talented on loan, or if presented the opportunity to buy, will go ahead with that.

AML/AMR:
Mitchell Weiser
Jordan Ibe - loan

Moi Gomez, Sallahi, Mina, Maxim can operate on the wings, but my main formation is all central, no AML/AMR.. As such, not a critical position to improve atm.. Maybe this summer! Would need 2 wide men for sure.

ST:
James Wilson - loan
Santi Mina - loan
Joan Roman
Goran Pandev

My best strikers are both on loan! And the backups are back-up at best. As a result, not a position to upgrade in January, but definitely in the summer.
On a side note, might have to get another striker in as Wilson is out for a month and half, though that period is the winter break time!

DECEMBER & WINTER BREAK

December had 3 league games, and a game in the Cup 3rd round.

First it was the game in the Cup against division 2 rivals Aalen. James Wilson assisted all 3 goals, and had an amazing game! A mildly rotated team to keep everyone fresh!
View attachment 237429

Next up was a tough game against BMG. We were trailing at half time, and till the half hour mark. Wilson has been a great form this season, and pounced on an opportunity to equalize, and finally Sommer's mistake was enough for us to earn all 3 points!
View attachment 237428

25 minutes, 1-1, game over! Nothing much to separate the teams in this game, both teams had a few chances, but neither showed for it in front of the goal. A point gained, or two lost, that's to be judged at the end of the season!
View attachment 237427

The final game of the month, and the best one! Josue again proved to be the difference, MAGIC!
View attachment 237426

With that performance, Josue earned the POTW award!
View attachment 237425

View attachment 237430

We also played a couple of games in January to keep the players fit and ready for the second half of the season!

After the last game in December, it was time for the players to take a break from football, and they went on a short vacation. After which we were travelling in Spain for training!

And it was time for me to get to business!
With Lisandro Lopez coming in now, I had to ship at least one centre back out, and Cho Yong-Hyung was the one who would depart. He was signed for $100k + $200k in add-ons, which were never met, and he's leaving for $300k- sensible business! Also, his time with us was marred with injuries, unfortunately!
A very decent folk, we wish him the best back at his nation.
View attachment 237422

Now now now! Before anyone gets excited, I just wanted to look where Chygrynskyi was- my surprise, or shock!
He had retired from playing. As a result, I picked him to join our back-room staff made up of ex-international players.
View attachment 237421

Good News! 90% of player sales to be added into transfer budget now, up from 75%!
View attachment 237420

The Board came up again to discuss season expectations, and I wanted to see my chance with an optimistic target!
More than that, I wanted the slightly higher budget & payroll for the transfer window!
View attachment 237419

And the reason why I wanted the higher budgets-
View attachment 237418

View attachment 237417

FREE AGENT EVERTON RIBEIRO!!!!!

Ribeiro has become the highest earner in our team, but given he came for free I'm barely bothered by that!
He's immensely talented, and with his current valuation so high already, it's a definite win-win for us!
He has a $45m release clause in his contract and if any team wants to exploit that, I'd be more than happy! :)

Cho Yong-Hyung has already departed, and Lisandro Lopez has come into the team.
In other news, Marco Materazzi has brought an end to his playing career, and will be involved full time as the head coach of our II team. He was an important figure last year and has helped the young players find their feet. An inspiration and motivation!

That makes it 2 out, 1 in for CB, right?

NO!

Slobodan Rajkovic has earned a transfer to Russia. We receive $5m for him. He was signed for free!

The reason? His discipline. 2 red cards in 7/8 games, then an automatic suspension because of receiving 5 yellow cards in under 15 games, also I wanted to remove him as vice captain without any disruptions.

3 out, 1 in in CB's!
Need one more maybe.. Looking at the loan market now to strengthen..

So my captain and vice captain have both departed.
Lucho Gonzalez takes over as captain of the club, while new signing and goal keeper Asmir Begovic takes the role of vice captain.

Lucas Leiva is transfer listed for $7m, with a wage demand of $100k/w approx..
Chris Smalling has his contract running down in 6 months, and would come for free, with wage demands of $100k/w+..
Andre Wisdom is available for $3.5m to sign with $20k/w wages, or on loan.
Javier Hernandez again is like the Smalling situation.

There are a few more players, I'll post the ones who are listed currently or having their contracts running down.

JANUARY

Just the 2 games this month, against Kaiserslautern and RBL, both games which I was hoping to win. Optimist!

First up was the game against Kaiserslautern who defeated us the first game of this season. Sweet revenge!
New signings Asmir Begovic & Lisandro Lopez looked as comfortable as any other player on pitch.
View attachment 237203

Next up was the game against RBL, and I was confident of securing a victory here as well.
1-0 down in the 1st minute, and then 2-0 down by the 70th minute! Josue on his own tried to win or level the game, but it wasn't to be! 3 points lost!
View attachment 237202

Nelson Oliveira, a prolific Portuguese striker arrives on loan from SLB!
View attachment 237201

View attachment 237200

And Munir from Barcelona arrives on loan. I hope he can spark a similar reaction as Janujaz did last year!

1st February 2016

This has to be one of those days!
A day full of dilemma, options, confusion and all...

It was the transfer deadline day, and it began with us signing a player I see as a key player for us in a couple of seasons, a transfer target before this window began, I was overjoyed to bring him here!

Gaston Gil Romero
View attachment 237179View attachment 237180

Next up, one of the toughest decisions I've had to make in my managerial career- selling Josue!
He joined us for a little over $4m, so it was three times plus profit, with us retaining 50% of his future fee!
That's a lot of money for us at this time, and well, sentiments aside, I did what i thought was right for the club!
View attachment 237187View attachment 237186

The biggest issue now was who replaces Josue! There were a few players in the team unhappy with Josue's departure, and I can not blame that. So I really had to bring someone in to replace Josue.

This brings me to the next signing-
JUAN FERNANDO QUINTERO!
View attachment 237185View attachment 237184
$~13m fee, majority of that over 48 months. That's there- a replacement and upgrade over Josue, coming for a fee less than what Josue went for.
Win-win?

Something I observed over the last few games was a weakness in our right side of defence. Ryan McLaughlin is decent, no doubt, but there was something lacking there. Maybe experience.
Marcos Rocha is an experienced right back, and for a transfer fee of $8-9m, most of which again is in instalments, I didn't really have to think twice to pull the plug for this deal.
View attachment 237183

Next is a young CB/RB. Hadziahmetovic joins from Toronto FC for a fee of $2.6m.

FEBRUARY PREVIEW

The month of February is by far our toughest one.

To play 7 games in a month, and Bayern, Schalke, Hoffenheim, Leverkusen, Wolfsburg.. Hamburg & Augsburg are no easy games either!

The new signings are to make an immediate impact if we are to have further success this season.

View attachment 237161

FEBRUARY REVIEW

The month began with us hosting Bayern in the German Cup. The Board expected us to reach till the QF's, and that's where we had already reached. Bayern's never an easy game, but this time around, setting up defensively on the counter initially, our work became easier with Boateng's early sending off!
We dominated from that point, and finally, Bayern old boy Weiser scored the winner to take us into the semis!
View attachment 236514

Hoffenheim in the next round.
View attachment 236512

No surprises here! Bayern were firm favorite!
View attachment 236513

More chances, more possession, but not the win!
View attachment 236511

Less chances, less possession, but the win! That's soccer!
Schalke are strong, and this victory was very important for our push for continental soccer!
View attachment 236510

What a come back! All the drama in the first 30 minutes.
2 penalties conceded, but we kept going on to secure the 3 points!
View attachment 236509View attachment 236507

View attachment 236508

We dominated with the number of attempts, but it was a late goal from Munir that won us this game!
View attachment 236506

Absolutely entertaining. Both teams were equal on the pitch- shots, possession all being more or less similar.
But we kept our cool in front of the goal and scored the important goals!
View attachment 236505

Mina grabbing 2 assists. Game won at half time.
View attachment 236504

So what was to be our toughest and most challenging month, came to be the best for us so far.
Big big wis against teams above and below us in the league, and that Cup win against Bayern- priceless!

YOUTH INTAKE

Nothing in it really this time around. No stand out talents, all very ordinary players to be honest. Not looking for any miracles from any of these lads!

A number of clubs have approached for my services, but I can't see leaving KSC any time shortly.
Looking to take this club into Europe next season, and maybe after that when the club is financially secured, I would take up a new challenge!

TRANSFER UPDATES

View attachment 236489

None of these players are part of the future. Amos has barely played a game this season, and coming on a free earlier, we make a good profit. Same for Fuchs as well as Pandev. They were short term options, served their purpose, and now is the time to move on!

MARCH REVIEW

A very tough month, just the 3 games, but 2 very tough games against Bayern & Dortmund in the league. Bayern are 1st and Dortmund 2nd.
View attachment 236476

Gonzalez scored an absolute stunner to take the lead, and in the end, Munir came off the bench to score the winner!
View attachment 236481

This was special, very special indeed. No one thought this might happen, but the players believed, had more chances, more of the ball, and in the end, showed for it!
View attachment 236480

Priceless victory! What this result does is......
We overtake Dortmund to climb into the 2nd spot!
View attachment 236479

Schar's performance earns him the POTW!
View attachment 236478

So apart from the league, we played 2 games in the international week, and tried a new tactic to go into April!

View attachment 236475

APRIL REVIEW

The month started with home game against Hannover, and Sallahi scored what was to be the winner, and the only goal. He started at left back, but with nothing happening till the half time, I opted to push him forward- it always pays!
View attachment 236409

Game against our rivals- Stuttgart, and we dominated from the kick off. Just didn't get the 3 points though.
View attachment 236408

Well well well.... Now that is what you call an absolute demolition! 9-1 the scoreline in Cup Semi final against a team more or less equivalent/better than us! Crazy Football!!
View attachment 236407
View attachment 236406

Game against Paderborn, this victory for us relegated them for certain! Oliveira scored a brace, he hadn't impressed much so far during his loan spell though.
View attachment 236405

In other news, Bayern won the Bundesliga!
View attachment 236404

This game was absolutely epic! Goals, goals, goals!
View attachment 236403
View attachment 236402

What that result did.... was ensure......
We go to Europe next season in the Champions League!
View attachment 236401

Great footballing display to ensure 3 more points. Can't let Dortmund overtake us now.
We are 2nd, and plan to stay that way!

Fantastic 3 months man!

Beating Bayern twice and then trashing Hoffenheim 9-1!! :)

Performance in the league is top notch at the moment!...I go away for a few days and you go from a middle table team to challenging for the title. haha well done, keep it up.

In the Bundesliga, honestly, you can take a decent team to finish 3rd imho..
the big step up is challenging Bayern! and that's a very steep step!

have finished the season, and currently upgrading and overhauling the squad for the next season.

with the season we had, many players are wanted by other clubs.

also, a few players had sick low release clauses and they wanted way too much money in the next contract.. so it's a lot of outs and ins to fill those gaps.

Asmir Begovic in all honesty kept us in the hunt.
He had much much more clean sheets than Koen Casteels! and a way better save %!

and this season I'm looking not to loan in players, except if I can have a player we can't buy, and if the player covers for us in an important position!
maximum of 2-3 loan ins...

that Hoffenheim game was unbelievable if you ask me! would never have predicted it that way..

also, turned down offers from big clubs already...
Man Utd, Man City, Spurs and others..

update should be sometime later.

cheers!

MAY REVIEW & SEASON CLOSE

With us securing a place in the CL next season, the lads got complacent here this last game, and it showed!
Going 2 goals up, there seemed nothing more to play for, and I do not blame them! No worries, a point away from home. Not exactly the best way to end the season for the fans though.
View attachment 235613

This was better. Much better! Decent performance to lift the CUP!
