Villa are robbing the French League lol

After a few years of BEING robbed by every mediocre British player in the entire world and their trusty Northern Irish wardancing sidekick, I reckon it's justified eh? ;)

Manchester United are reportedly set to complete a deal to sign Palermo’s exciting young playmaker Javier Pastore. The Argentine’s agent Marcelo Simonen is apparently in talks with the Old Trafford club completing a deal to bring the 21 year old to the Premier League table toppers according to Cordoba based media outlet Radio Event. Such news will come as a blow to Barcelona who are also said to be actively pursuing the Serie A star.

Sir Alex Ferguson is known to be an admirer of the rangy attacking midfielder and has had the player scouted in recent weeks. Pastore has been the driving force in Palermo’s towards a top sixth finish and the club’s recent 7-0 home drubbing at the hands of Udinese has apparently led to the player’s push to leave the club he joined in July 2009.

The Sicilian side is determined to see their €40m (£34.3m) valuation met before they sell their prized asset and it now appears that Ferguson is willing to meet those demands and break the club’s transfer record outlay which was set when Man United purchased Dimitar Berbatov from Tottenham back in the summer of 2008.
Pastore has been in fine form this season netting ten goals and assisting many others and he is seen as an ideal long term replacement for Paul Scholes as Ferguson looks to bring in a goal scoring midfielder to help boost the attacking third of his squad.

Manchester United’s owners have promised Ferguson significant transfer funds to help boost the club’s squad, a promise that was also made to England international Wayne Rooney who wanted to see the club bring in top level signings before committing to a new deal some months back.

Sir Alex Ferguson will look to trim some players from his squad to help fund such additions with Owen Hargreaves and Michael Owen unlikely to be offered new deals and the likes of Jonny Evans, Danny Welbeck, Bebe, Gabriel Obertan and Darron Gibson all fighting for their Old Trafford futures.

I cant see Fergie splashing that sort of cash on a player from the slow Italian Seria A!?
Btw i thought the Glazers dont give Utd much funds to spend! They are 800M in debt. Seems like a big rumour there...

Liverpool is still "keen on" Kranjčar. Word is that they'll try to bid again for Kranjčar.

Sorry just a little question, don't know if here is the right place for it...

When does the loan window shut?

Rennes midfielder Sylvain Marveaux claims he is 'very close' to agreeing a deal to join Liverpool next season.

Marveaux is out of contract in the summer and has been heavily linked with a free transfer switch to Liverpool in recent months.

Reports claimed the 24-year-old had been a guest of the club for the home game against Wolves earlier in the season and he has also attracted interest from Newcastle United.
It now appears Liverpool are close to tying up a deal to add the former France Under 21 international to their squad for the 2011/12 campaign.

"I am very close to reaching agreement with Liverpool about joining them next season," Marveaux is quoted in The People.

Marveaux has spent his entire career with Rennes and the Ligue 1 title hopefuls are resigned to his departure in the summer.

The left-sided midfielder is currently recovering from a groin operation he underwent last month and is not expected to play again this term.
