Yes, but when he came here under Ramos he was utter cack, then Redknapp came and appointed Parks as GKing coach and he got better and then worse again. :S

Can we say he was adapting to the new league? As aerial ability is tested to death in Premier league which is by far his weakest area..

So many players have improved their game with Redknapp as manager, to name a few Bale, Gomes, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon

Lolz. Gomes is awful - almost as bad as Almunia!

Spurs make first signing of the summer

Harry Redknapp has already pulled off the transfer coup of the summer, sources have told ESPNsoccernet, by snatching Barcelona youngster Cristian Ceballos from under the noses of Chelsea.

Ceballos, 16, was hailed as Barcelona's new superstar four years ago when he became an internet sensation, featuring in a video juggling a ball with Ronaldinho.

However, after a falling out, Barca agreed to release Ceballos, an attacking midfielder, on a free transfer and he was taken to Chelsea for a two week trial.

Ceballos trained at Cobham predominately with Chelsea's youth side, but also trained with Carlo Ancelotti's first-team. In a shock move, he has now reportedly signed a three-year contract at White Hart Lane.

Sources close to the player said: "The boy captained Barca's Under-17's and here we have a proper player, potentially one of the greats if he develops as people think he might.

"He went to Chelsea for two weeks and trained for three days with the first-team before a Champions League game such was the impression he made, but for some strange reason no one seemed to make a decision about him.

"Now, he has signed a three-year contract with Spurs and Harry Redknapp has a player who will be in his first-team within a year."

Most depressing news since the arrival of Pascal Chimbonda.

Why? He has done great job at spurs. Yes league position could have been better, but when you look at the teams that have finished higher than you, it is hardly worse season.

You lacked striker, that is there for everyone to see. Harry did try to sign a striker but failed. If he didn't attempt then we could have blamed him. But he tried to lure a top class strikers, hence failed to sign one.

#rant incoming.

1) He's rude, obnoxious, and calls us fans 'idiots' when he was the one who set our targets so high saying that we can 'challenge for the title' but now we've failed its 'what more can we expect' + 'this as good as its going to get'.

2) His transfer targets are poor - Parker, Adam, Beckham, Pienaar (all midfielders note.)

3) He didn't put much effort into trying to sign a striker at all - spent most time after Parker and Beckham *sigh*. Then SUPPOSEDLY went after Aguero on the last day which was probably more-so to do with Levy.

4) Hes arrogant and too ego-tistical, and not in a good way where he gets the results i.e. Mourinho.

5) Too influenced by favourite players. Took him months to drop Defoe and Crouch as they were wank and Pav hasn't been used enough.

6) Poor squad management/rotation. Look at Kranjcar, Bassong and the like who he has treated poorly and now Bale has been injured several times (back) because hes been overplayed. Redknapps fault.

There you go. :)

In other news... Gomes linked with PSV return | Tottenham Hotspur News, Fixtures, Results, Transfers | Sky Sports

Gomes wants out. Finally some good news!

Well can't argue on that. :)

Interested to see who Spurs sign this summer. They're going to want to build on the squad they already have so that they can get back into the Top 4 or even mount a title challenge.

However, at the risk of upsetting CJ, they may have to sell some players and may lose a key player or two although that's not a given. Going to be a very interesting summer at the top of the league with everyone capable of spending and admitting that they need to strengthen in certain areas it's going to be insane!

The problem I have with Redknapp, is that he only looks towards the short-term future at Tottenham, presumably because he isn't planning to stick around for longer than 1-2 years. This results in him searching for experienced players for the most part, such as Gallas, Parker, Forlan, etc, rather than focusing on future stars which we could nurture over time.

Not really surprising, but I really want us to build for the future. Having to re-build the team in a few years doesn't sit well with me.

I think we should be looking at Leandro, personally, at Internacional. Young Striker, and friends with Sandro; maybe the same potential.
