I said when the 20m euros bid broke that IF Arsenal go in with 25m euros Rennes will accept.

It's M'Villas hometown club but when it comes to it they wont stand in his way.

Not to mention they need the money, chairman was being bravado, IF Arsenal have came in with 25m euros they should get him.

Re Albiol: He has been for sale all summer, could be a RVDV signing and a Prem club come from nowhere.

But he is for sale, not sure Arsenal are in for him though.

But a name to watch in the next week, Mourinho wants him out the door see's him as an immobile liability (Very unfair in my opinion).

Your theory is about to be put to the test, Arsenal having upped their bid and a response due in a few days

Why Yann M'Vila is Mr. Dependable for Rennes and France at Just 21 - WhoScored.com

The beautiful area of Brittany will welcome Red Star Belgrade to the Stade de route de Lorient this evening as Rennes try to protect an excellent first leg result and confirm passage to the Europa League Group Stage.

Goals from Jonathan Pitroipa and Victor Hugo Montano, having gone behind to a Mendes Kadu penalty, gave Rennes a commanding position for the second leg. Red Star would need to score two unanswered goals before they were back in the tie.

For Rennes to be successful this evening and even more so this season they will need to call upon one of Europe’s hottest young prospects. Yann M’Vila at 21-years old finds himself as one of the most wanted players in Europe and a fixture in Laurent Blanc’s Les Bleus side.

Although earlier in the summer the midfielder pledged his future to Rennes stating he wanted to stay for one more year, it didn’t stop reports that Arsene Wenger had made a bid rumoured to be between €15m-€20m. A move to Arsenal would usually excite most players, but earlier in the year Laurent Blanc stated that he wanted young French players to stay in France, giving them a better opportunity to play in next years Euro 2012 tournament should France qualify, meaning Rennes should keep their man for another 12 months.

Last season M’Vila was without a doubt one of Rennes best players, playing 37 league games for Les Rouges et Noir, he is the type of player that if you don’t notice him and he flies under the radar then he’s had a good game. In all the 37 games he was only once picked as WHOSCORED.COM’s Man of the Match but he finished the season as the player with the highest rating (7.06) in the whole squad.

With only two goals and one assist his game is not to be a goal threat or a threat in the final third. He did though only pick up two yellow cards throughout the whole season. At this point fans that haven’t had the pleasure of watching M’Vila play might be asking what he actually does in this Rennes team.

Yann M’Vila is the player that starts Rennes play, every move put together will usually start with an M’Vila pass. Last season he averaged 61.2 passes for game, which is more than 17 passes per game higher than anyone else in the squad. Completing over 82% of these passes, he is a very elegant and classy midfielder.

It is not very often that the midfielder gives the ball away- he is dispossessed less than once a game and averages one turnover per game that is a fantastic stat for someone who is in control of the ball so often.

When he doesn’t have the ball M’Vila is just as efficient. He averaged 2.9 tackles per game last season only 0.1 behind Kévin Théophile-Catherine who made the most tackles for Rennes as they finished 6th last season. To contrast the two players, last season Théophile-Catherine averaged 2.1 fouls a game but with the same amount of tackles, M’Vila averaged a paltry 1.1 fouls a game.

It’s not just his good timing that makes him stand out but it’s his exceptional positioning and anticipation that makes him such a good player. With 2.4 interceptions per game he was in Rennes top three in this category.

When next summer rolls around there will be plenty of teams looking towards Yann M’Vila as a potential summer signing. If they are looking for a flashy player armed with 60-yard Hollywood passes, M’Vila is not their man. If they are looking for a dependable, solid and consistent performer- someone who will protect the defence and keep a team moving forward, then there are not many better than the young Rennes midfielder.

Real Madrid, Cheslea, Arsenal and Manchester United have all been linked this summer and if M’Vila continues to play in the same way for the next 11 months there is no doubt they will be back after Euro 2012.

Aquilani medical apparently today, so would expect his loan->buy to go through soon.

Then this on Coates:

The centre-half, who was voted the best player at this summer's Copa America, says he is shunning interest from megabucks City to team up with countryman Suarez at Anfield.
"The offer ticks all the boxes, so you can say that the transfer is a done deal," said Coates. "The chance to move to Liverpool is very attractive.
"It's a club with a lot of tradition and history in English football, and the fact that Luis is there is a great help for me.
"I have spoken to him. He got in touch with me and we had a chat. It is good there is another Uruguayan already in the team - it is easier if there is someone I know well.
"He has told me what the club is like. It's important because he won over the fans straight away and is scoring lots of goals. He's doing really well, and that's good for me as another Uruguayan arriving."

I'm with José here, never rated Albiol. IMHO he's ****, plain and simple.

Robben open to Barca switch | Sky Sports | Football | Transfer Centre | Speculation

In the same article, Robben says, and I quote:

"I'm feeling very well here and am happy at Bayern. Don't go writing that I want to join Barcelona, because that's not the case."

Gotta love journalism.

I agree. Albiol IS a liability. He made so much mistakes for Valencia i was very surprised Madrid signed. Every time i see him for Madrid, he looks clumsy and lapses in concentration so much! He's a player built on a big name and often gets over-rated because he plays for R.Madrid.

Love that quote from Robben and the title of the article!

Harry has taken Yago on loan from Juve...

Aye a-yaye.

Him and Bruna were in the same class of the next generation of WC talents a few years ago now he's nothing more than an after thought.

If Blackburn/Mid table team signed him I would go it's a good move all round, but going to Spurs baffles me.

Marotta is somewhere sipping his sangria thinking what a deal he's got because if Yago steps up he gets a more built/experienced player come next summer and if he does bad he can just release him/loan him out again.

I can't see much of a benefit for Spurs in that deal.

Adebayor is a good signing though.

If they can flog Wilson/Crouch to Stoke as expected then surely Redknapp will go out and buy Diarra/Ruiz...

Hopefully he goes back in for Samba as well but with Harry you never know.

Would it honestly surprise anyone if he signed Kanu?

Bryan Ruiz? Assuming he will play up front if that was the case. Diarra would be a good upgrade on Palacios.

Whenever I've seen him play, I've been very impressed with Ruiz. And whenever I've seen him lay for Twente, the commentators always discuss the interest from Spurs. IMHO, a highly skilled player who can be the next RVP (hopefully without injuries) if he can play as a striker.

Why other teams have not made a move for him is baffling.

Heard Everton are looking to sign Macheda or Diouf on loan. Moyes was at our reserves match itseems..

They made 6 Million bid for Cahill? I dont think so. Probable bs.

That's Phil Gartside - the Bolton chairman, I don't see why he would lie.

Is it a verified account?

What was Wenger thinking to make that sort of bid. 6 Million is not even enough for a decent prospect let alone established CB.

Its been confirmed by OC. 6 Million? We have all that ******* money and we bid 6 Million? **** sake...
