I've seen him as well, I am far from convinced he is, or ever will be, good enough to replace a player like Gary Cahill. Sure, comfortable on the ball, and a good passer...but Cahill is a leader for Bolton. That is what makes him a great player. IMO, I think Chelsea are lining Cahill up to not only partner Terry, but to one day replace him like for like.

We could do better than Aly, Cheick M'Bengue is 25 x better imo :)

lol ur taking in account of fm.

but really. i have seen him play for both Lyon and France. he is a pure class LB. and he's not like santos(who i think is better of being an LW), and is more fitter than gibbs ;)

Need depth Calum. What happens if André comes back and get's injured again.

there is two ways in this argument. but atm, i think a loan option will be ideal. and Aly is not for loan, but Lyon are willing to sell. if thats the case, we can get him in the summer. beside Lyon are also in the CL last 16.

same goes for podolski, matias suarez, and our usual targets, like hazard, and mario gotze, and countless more

Cissokho doesn't warrant spending £8 million when we already have Santos, Gibbs, Vermaelen and Miquel who can play there.

How often are 3 of that 4 likely to be injured? Then we will be left with 3 LB's who all expect to be first choice if Cissokho comes. It just won't work. Much better to just bring someone on loan for 3 months or until the end of the season.

Plus, if Lyon are more than happy to let go of there first choice LB without him requesting a transfer obviously he isn't doing so well.

Newcastle are in for him, according to French media, he apparently will have a medical for a move tomorrow/Monday. He has been left out of Lyon's squad for their game with Montpellier, and he has been ever-present for them this season. Certainly a player we need, we don't have a proper LB, and it's been either R. Taylor or Santon out there. This would mean Santon could go to his natural RB position :D

But you have Simpson there, he is amazing this season.

Yeah, not doubting that, but over time, you would expect that Santon is going to progress to a higher level than Simmo, and will eventually want to playin his natural position at RB.

Simpson is what ? 23,24 yo ? Still good prospect. Although I think Santon can be better if he stays fit.

It's always good to have competition for places. :) Who knows how either will be or develop in the next year.

What happen to the RB who was set pieces specialist ? Taylor I think ? He's more than decent.

Ryan Taylor right ? If he's so bad, then I guess Santon to RB sounds great.
