To be honest, the ME seems just as broken as before to me. The number of personal mistakes by the back four and midfielders is insane, and the results seem to vary so much that it is beyond belivable. I just lost 5-0 against Crystal Palace at home playing Southampton. We both played the same formations and I played the better team. I got 3 shots on goal.

That isnt realistic. Its just a bad build. I guess we are back to the "if you have the correct sliders you can use the same formation every game" as it was before. If thats an improvement I hardly doubt it. At least the idiotic wingers had some predictability and the shouts mattered etc.
 
I just bought FM the other day after having played the demo, just wondering though how do you get illegal copies and are they free?
 
So the fixes to the match engine are complete now? There is nothing I have to do to update them?
 
whoooooo wooo woow whaaaaaa :S.... so I decided to start a new game with spurs.... apparently brad freidel gets over 200k a week before tax.. just tried to sign demba ba.. he wanted 300k a week, and in the process of trying to sign falleni for everton.. he wants 425k a week.... am I missing something here or whatttttt ???#crazymoney
 
Obviously more high balls are played after the patch, from both my team and opposition.

I'll be honest, its almost certainly your instructions. The difference between this build is and the last is night and day. Its not perfect, but its certainly the most realistic match engine ever produced by them. If you really cant see the difference, then i genuinely wonder how much attention you have been paid. Even the most ardent critic will tell you there is a huge improvement. The slider sentence is also just completely wrong, since you dont even need to touch the sliders by using the TC

Rather than blaming the match engine, i suggest you check out the tactical sections.
 
is it just me or has this patch just made everything worse.... got beat 3-0 at home by reading :S
 
New ME rollout seems fine to me. Forward movement seems a lot more sensible, and it looks like they've fixed the issue I had with multiple players closing down one opponent and leaving several others free.
Have scored some very well worked goals in the three games I've played since the update, and have won all three with no tactical tweaks as yet. There is a massive difference in the new rollout to the last one.
 
yeah well I just conceded another error goal from a back pass in the 88th minute against Tottenham where I was 1:0 up and really needed the win! thanks to my new singing Pirlo of all people played it straight to Benteke's feet and passed it into the goal....

Know the feeling. Before this patch, Mattia Cassani (loanee) is supposed to be a good RB, but during a match which I lost he gave the ball away stupidly near the end which led to the winning goal. Then I switched him to a defensive FB with limited freedom etc and now he's much much imrpoved. Avge rating was 6.7 now it's 7.1
 
another defensive error from Samba who has a rating of 8.08 in the EPL after 25 games! best player in the league! deep free kick just on their halfway line, he heads (no one around him) directly to the opposition player at the back post (who cannot be offside) and taps it in!

edit: while typing this my QPR team scored 4 goals before halftime! lol!

still would like to see these errors erased.. yes players do make mistakes I get that :) just not every game at least and sometimes twice

Really enjoying the new patch. After the last tactics i was working on had an epic fail on the new patch i have decided to make something completely new and different, a 3-5-2 tactic based on Conte's Juventus.

So far so good with Boro, 2 FA cups, 1 league cup and a Euro league win and Champions league football. Its also the first time ive managed to use an out and out Target man successfully.

I am not moaning about the game, I still think the update is near perfection and is fantastic! I was just hoping to see the stupid errors erased a little more from the game..

I do concede to the fact that players will make mistakes though.. lets hope we can stamp those out in the next several games!

beat Swansea 6:2 after that error then 2:0 vs a good Stoke team

playing great football, loving the new patch :) designed a brand new tactic now as well for this patch as I am using my old pre-patch tactics (still working a treat as well)
 
The update has been brilliant for me. No longer are my players long shots curling so badly that it goes out for a throw in. ;)

However, I've been hitting the post 2-3 times per game with close range shots. Has this been happening to anybody else?

I have had a few as well mate :) most was 5 in one game
then 4
 
What is the full name of the updated version and match engine? Still not sure that I have it, as I haven't noticed any match engine changes...
