Toronto FC New Stadium?

View attachment 207246

Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment have announced that Toronto FC will build a new home that will be completed by December 2016. This is a shocking move since it was announce that BMO Field was going to expand up to 40,000 by May 2016. Many suggest that Toronto FC head office does not what to share the stadium with the Canadian Football League's Toronto Argonauts.

"This plan will help us move forward with the club as we need to own the atmosphere and to make this place a tough playing ground for visiting teams." Said Tim Leiweke, the CEO of MLSE.

With Tim Leiweke was manager Dwayne De Rosario and General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko.

The new stadium does not have a name at the moment but its project name is called TFC Ground.

In 2014 when BMO Field was announced that it would expand to 40,000 in 2016, it was to accommodate the Toronto Argonaut. Many Toronto FC supporters told their displeasure over the Agros coming to BMO Field as they did not want the pitch to have the football marks and deteriorate the natural grass after the football match.

The new Toronto FC stadium will featured a roof, suites, underground parking and many more. The location of the stadium will be either in the Downtown core of Toronto or somewhere close to Downsview Park, where the Toronto FC's KIA Training Ground is located.

The Major League Soccer All-Star Game is an annual soccer game held by the MLS featuring select players from the league against an International club. MLS initially adopted a traditional all-star game format used by other North American sports Leagues where the Eastern Conference faced against the Western Conference. This eventually evolved into the current system where the league annually invites a club from aboard to play against a league all-star team. The MLS All-Stars hold a 8-4 record in the competition marking the season midpoint. Players are awarded roster spots through a combination of fan voting and selections by the appointed manager and league commissioner.

In case of a tie after full-time, the game does not use a 30-minute extra time, instead it goes straight to a penalty shoot-out.

I hate the all-star game, they always pick 7-8 of my key players for this useless mid-week friendly and they're all tired and unable to play the next fixture for me!

Great job with the layout, but most of all with Altidore! He's been a major let down for me and couldn't score to save his life, I was happy to get rid of his monster salary just for a draft pick and some cash XD

There was moments during the season that I wanted to trade him but I'm glad he finally started to play.

All-star game is just annoying at times.

Don't know what to say but we got extremely lucky in this match. I mean I never struggled so much in a home game before but Sporting Kansas City outplayed us badly.

Heath Pearce scored on the Toronto only shot of the game after heading the ball in from a corner set piece. Jose Valencia tied the game when headed the ball in during Marky Delgado error.

I'm happy that we won but I wish we scored more and really didn't want to score late in the game. This match had a total of 33 fouls with Edmonton taking 26 of them. One of the fatality was our goalkeeper Joseph Bendik that will be out for 4 weeks but we sent him to a specialist so hopefully he'll be back in 2 weeks.

Jonathan Osorio scored the only goal of the game late in the match after a tap in by Giovinco's cross.

Toronto FC will head to New Jersey where they will face the New York Red Bull.
