This match was meant for us to lose, not because they outclassed us (which they did), but how the MLS does not follow the International rules. We were without Michael Bradley, Mark Delgado, Tesho Akindele, Jonathan Osorio, Jay Chapman, Ashtone Morgan, and Jonny Steele. Our depth was tested today and was not on par against Seattle.

Osvaldo Alonso scored Seattle first goal with a well timed goal from close range. Nelson Valdez double the lead with a deftly finish. Jozy Altidore cut the lead to one with a powerful strike from inside the area.

Toronto FC next game will be at home as they host the New England Revolution.

Much better game when we have our entire team on the field. Jackson had a big game with 2 goals on his first full start since his injury that felt him sidelined for 3 months.

Jackson scored quickly for Toronto after a well timed strike from close range. Jackson scored his 2nd of the night after another well timed shot from range. Jozy Altidore made it 3-0 with a header after Giovinco crossed it in.

Toronto FC will go to New York to face the New York City FC.

MLS Transfer Window Closed

View attachment 201042

The MLS Transfer window of 2015 has ended. The clubs will not be able to buy, sell, trade, or loan their players for the remainder of the season, including the MLS Playoffs. In the MLS Transfer Deadline Day, Toronto FC made two moves. They waived Herculez Gomez and brought in Marinho on loan.

View attachment 201036

Herculez Gomez was brought to Toronto FC at the beginning of the season from Tijuana of Mexico. His role to the team was to be the backup for Altidore for the 2015 season. But just days before the MLS season started, he suffer an injury that put him out for 3 months. With the addition of Tesho Akindele, Gomez was relegated to the 3rd option. Now that Jozy Altidore has been on form this season and Akindele been the "Super Sub", Herculez Gomez game time was non existence.

Both Dwayne De Rosario and Gomez both agree to waive him so he can hopefully get picked by another MLS club or if not claimed, he will be a free agent and with be allowed to sign with anyone.

Toronto FC may finally found their AMC by acquiring Marinho or full name Mario Sergio Santos Costa from Brazilian side Cruzeiro on loan until the end of the season, with the option to extend his loan of the 2016 season. Marinho is attacking midfielder that can also be a winger for both sides. The ambitious player is very pacey and has the potential to become a star in the league. Toronto FC may be concern about his proneness to injury but De Rosario is confident that it will not be an issue.

As a manager, I don't like this result. AT ALL. I mean if manage to take 22 chance and only one goes in, it really should concern you. And the number of chances that ended in the post and crossbar was ridiculous. New York City FC was extremely lucky to go away with a point.

Ned Grabavoy gave NYCFC the lead in the 43rd minute with a powerful strike. Tesho Akindele came in for Jozy Altidore in the 2nd half and saved Toronto with a goal from 12 metres.

Toronto FC goes back home to BMO Field to begin their 5 game home stretch, starting with the Colorado Rapids.

All of our chance were used against New York City FC because today against the Rapids, we didn't have many chances but I 'm happy that we took advantage of our chances. Joseph Bendik was the deserved Man of the Match after a spectacular performance where he had 9 key saves.

Sebastian Giovinco scored the first goal of the game by a penalty after Marc Burch pushed Jackson inside the area. Marcelo Sarvas tied the game with a tamed effort from inside the area. Jozy Altidore regained the lead with a placed shot from close range. Sarvas scored his 2nd after taking advantage of Justin Morrow's mistake to score from close range. Colorado keeper Clint Irwin scored an own goal after knocking in Giovinco effort inside the net.

Toronto FC will host the Chicago Fire next.

Very poor game against Chicago today as the players did not perform on par. Ashtone Morgan was sent off early today but his ejection was a not factor as the club was not good today.

David Accam scored early for the Fire when he scored a deftly executed shot from close range. Jozy Altidore tied it early in the 2nd half after a well timed effort from close range. David Accam got his 2nd when he scored a well executed shot. Ashtone Morgan was sent off after a bad tackle.

Toronto FC continues to stay at home when they host the Philadelphia Unions.

Toronto FC September Review

September was an OK month as TFC went 2-1-2. They had big wins against New England Revolution and Colorado Rapids but missed their chance to get all three points against New York City FC.

One of the better games that we played even though I wished we scored a bit more. The Philadelphia Union keeper David Yelldell played one of the best performance in the MLS this season as we kept shoot to the net and he stopped everything but one in.

Jonathan Osorio scored the only goal of the game with a well timed shot from close range.

Toronto FC will stay at home to host the New York Red Bulls.
