Thanks guys, I am worried I have put a lot of pressure on myself to succeed now though, especially after the 5 trophy haul last season. Champions league definitely has to be our priority this season!

A couple of updates coming shortly, including our first competitive match and it's the first El Classico of the season.

Pre-season Friendly Results

We had a solid pre-season all in all, we got through it with minimal fuss, however Varane picked up a 4 week lay off as well as a niggling injury for Ramos which will see both missing our first competitive match against Barcelona on the opening day.

I saw some really positive stuff coming from new signings Hummels and especially Hazard, not so much Pogba as of yet but I feel that may be my instructions more than his ability to fit into the team.

Arguably the two best line-ups in world football and the prospect of an extremely exciting game ahead.
The main talking point for team news going into this game, apart from the injuries to Ramos and Varane has to be Depay being dropped to the bench, Hazard and Bale have both been in great form over the pre-season and I felt that Depay was not quite at that level yet, I am sure he will return to form with a bang soon.

Despite the lack of goals this game lived up to its expectation. I am very disappointed that we didn't take all 3 points as I feel we definitely deserved more form this match. Ronaldo was off his game tonight, so much so that I felt nervous when he stepped up for the penalty, all though he dispatched confidently he never really picked up his game. Much to think about but a point is still a good result against a great Barcelona side.

Despite the score line and stats both suggesting this was just a routine game, it did not feel that way. Whilst we had a far superior number of shots, we squandered most. We also twice gave away a penalty as both Azpilicueta and Ramos have shockers. Our brilliant attack saved us in the end.

After the fantastic 5-0 away win in the first leg, this game was pretty much a formality, I decided to field a 'weaker' side, which still boasted the likes of Hazard and Depay along with Lacazette, Digne and Isco among others. Great second leg win and as expected, another trophy in the bag.

Gareth Bale out injured at the beginning of the season yet again, at least it isn't 5-6 months like last year. Luckily Hazard and RonPay are in impressive form.

The travelling fans sung the name of new 'Galactico' hero Eden Hazard today as the man was in sparkling form, a sixteen minute hat-trick along with 2 assists and a 9.9 match rating, Hazard showed his class and absolutely run the show. The only negative from the match was the silly sending off for Ramos.

Viktoria Plzen may well be a surprise package in our group, although eventually we managed to take a credible 3-1 win away from the Doosan Arena, Plzen put up a good fight, they had more shots and better possession, on another day the result could have easily have gone their way.

Superb performance, every player on the pitch was brilliant (above 9 ratings). This game was my highest score as a Real Madrid manager and I think may also be my highest shots recorded in a single match against any team in FM ever. Yet again RonPay and Eden terrorised the opposition with a combined 5 goals between them.
