All were league games this month, but who would o fthought that the only game we gave up the goal wasn't the game we would tie. We would win that one 3-1, but we just wasn't sharp at the end of the month to finish perfect..

Another month where we don't lose league games. Maybe we need to to start making noise in the Deildabikar Cup. Either way we are the only team with double digits in goal difference and we sit with 24. Bjornsson already has 7 clean sheets on the year. KR starting to realized we are running away in the league so they moved all the way up to fifth and are just three points away from second (although they played one more game than everyone above them). Por showing the have the magic from the end of last year as they are sitting in second place. Still a very close race for second, but we are just slowly pulling ahead in first.

Three keys to the month:

So only have one person to make the NT now and that is Baldur Bjornsson. 13 others are on the under's team and some of them are sent out to Grotta on loan. Maybe we really are stockpiling our players. Though if any other teams want my players in the league we are willing to part with them for cheap.

View attachment 114191

So as a nation we just kicked the door down and announce the arrival of Iceland. Sure everyone laughed at us, but we did improve not only in Europa League for the second time, but we now improve our Champions League places. Now we will have two teams vying for the group stage. We are pretty much a lock now to at least make it, but hopefully we can have two teams. Maybe this is why KR starting to start playing now...

Well I thought all our people didn't have release clauses. Apparently I was wrong as Gislason (pic 1) had one and that was matched by Celtic so there goes another promising youth player. Indeed it made coach Sterling sad, but we do have a proven wing back to come in and play who use to be a starter for us.

This is shocking (pic 2). Not so much for the lack of the fee of just 245K, but Runarsson said he wanted to play for a bigger club and he did have 6 months left. Caen probably could of signed him for free, but we were able to at least make a profit. So much for improving our team as now we are just back to starting XI and bench players for our senior squad.

All-Time Borgunarbikar Quarter Final: 0-0-2 (2 games went to a shootout)
All-Time Champions League Second Qualifying Phase: 9-1-0
All-Time Champions League Third Qualifying Phase: 3-0-1

Coach Sterling was going to allow his bench to play in league games, and then show his dominance in Champs league by playing his starters. That would change as his squad would get the first league loss right before starting Champs League. With that loss Sterling decided to go back and allow his bench to play Champs League, and allow his starters to play the league games early on.

Haukar still hasn't gotten a win. They only have one point and well they are done for the year. KR seems to just be a middle of the road team, but Prottur R. who did hand us our first loss has been slowing climbing up the rankings and now sit in third place. Still have an 8 point lead over second, but we are not threaten of losing our lead and our bench still might be able to see time in the league. At least at the end of the year.

Forgot that he had a release clause when he signed his professional contract...

View attachment 114133

Coach Sterling after hearing this would offer him the biggest contract ever for a player at Stjarnan. How big you ask, well the salaries for the team for a week was 20K. He got a contract for 10K a week which pushes our salary up, but hopefully this is the first sign of keeping our younger players on our team. He still has a release clause, but Sterling is perfectly happy with it, since he was allowed to choose it, so he picked a hefty 20 million price tag for him.

Due to that coach Sterling would iron out some other contracts before they reached their final year to keep the squad happy and most of all his players on the team for a couple more years. Still we do have people under 19 squad we can call up, but don't want to lose anyone else hopefully this year.

All-Time Champions League Playoff: 5-3-2

After crusing to a 3-1 win on the road in the first leg of the Champs Playoff on the road at PAOK we came home and let our reserves finish it off. After them scoring first in the first 5 minutes we would take the lead at half 2-1. Witha 5-2 advantage it seemed all in the bag. Although in the final ten minutes they would find two goals, but would just run out of time before scoring a goal as it would be the second time in the history of the Playoff leg that we would lose.

KR climbed up to fifth place. They are running out of time to claim second and might be too tough this year. Finally break the 8 point mark from second and now lead by 11, although IBV has a game in hand, so it could be back to 8. All we need is just one more win and we claim the league but you can tell our players are class above everyone else. As we have 2 of the top 3 in scoring and players of the match. Leading shutouts as well, and have top three in average rating and assists (which we never usually have one person in).

Three keys to the month:

Our youth facilities is taking us two years to build and we already have one year in. So it should be close to State of the Art (or whatever the top youth facility is called) as well as training. With Above average youth recruitment (hopefully we can get this higher after the completion of youth facilities we can be world class). This is where Sterling has shined with youth players. So anything now, even if we lose a guy a year, in about 4 years have the depth finally to not worry about losing people. Although with all these good people coming in they might only stay a max until they are 20 before being sold for not wanting to play for our league.

Despite all of what was just said we already have gumblings of our GK Bjornsson wanting to leave since our league isn't very good. Please say it ain't so. Although if that is the case it means we will probably lose our center back as well a year later. Just seems like Sterling is swimming upstream still.

Our striker Bjornsson would get injured and it looks like their will be a decision at the start of the next year who will be the striker since a youngster is tearing up the league late. This is basically the same thing when Bjornsson did right before getting the start so it will be interesting of what will happen.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP STAGE

View attachment 114018

Last year if you told this is who we were facing I would tell you we would be good for maybe 4 points. A win against Schalke at home and maybe a tie with Chelsea (home) or Shalke (away). However our team, despite being young, we have been playing extremely well. Also our team will consistently be fit for the games so it is a toss up. We didn't lose much to Barcelona in the knockout stage earlier this year, even if they were a second seed for the draw. However, they might not take us for granted and we might not post more than 3 points like we are predicted.

Month Record: 3-2-1
September All-Time Record: 21-7-8
Champions League Group Stage: 1-2-6

Coach Sterling has looked to have thrown away his shell tactics as in both group stage he allowed his players to attack. Good news is we went 0-1-1 so far in the group stage. Bad news is we haven't scored a goal. Great news is that we played Porto and tied them at home. They had a bunch of chances but Bjornsson stock skyrocketed as he shut them out.

View attachment 113844

Record: 3-1-0
All-Time Record: 20-6-5

It would take two games into the month for us to claim the league and we ended with a 9 point victory over second place IBV. KR somehow climbed all the way up to third, which is good, and again we had mostly everyone score at least 20 points in the league. Sadly Haukar would be relegated as soon as they got promotion, but they did win a game (2) and ended up with 8 points on the year. With five teams in positive goal difference it still didn't amount to Stjarnan's goal difference.

Three keys to the month:

Back to having 3 people on the national team. We got a couple of under 19 squad who might be getting called up to the senior squad for Sterling. Most are surprised that Svansson is on the under 21 squad and not the NT squad. Is there really at least three better center backs than him?

View attachment 113842

We didn't max out our attendance for the league, which is worriesome since with the new stadium coming, but it is at a nice number. Like the broken record, an increase is always good.

View attachment 113841

Hey our league we got 20.67K for winning first. I miss the good of days where that would be enough to cover our salaries for the year. Now we are paying one person 10K a week so much for that ever been a possibility.

Chelsea looked like a one seed team as they just crushed everyone (they only allowed one goal!), and again everyone else just plays terrible, and we just magically score 6 points (I guess that is our number in group stage), and we advance to the Knockout Stage again! Although it is the first time we actually outscored two other teams in the stage, so just shows how terrible Porto (what happened as a one seed?) and Schalke could only manage five goals.

2021 Season Recap and Awards

SEASON RECAP:

View attachment 113793

We didn't have this many two-and-a-half rep star teams last year, so how did everyone go down? Well I guess IBV didn't move, but still it is looking good that the majority of the league is staying together. We were the only team in Pepsi-deild league that went up, but still staying as the only three star team.

View attachment 113792

That didn't take long for Svansson to get his first cap for Iceland. He is so amazing. If there ever was a reason for cloning this would be a good reason to have it.

View attachment 113791

23K increase from last year now for the TV rights. Just imagine if we could make a million. Oh that would be the day. Probably will never happen but a man can dream can't he.

View attachment 113790

Three people were sold for a total of 3.6M. At least the money is high enough now where we can cover our wages for the year with just the transfers. We didn't send out a lot of people to Grotta this year so it didn't help them to gain promotion. Still we have them as an affiliate so that is always a plus.

View attachment 113789

First time that we would have one part of our revenue go down. It wasn't by much (just a million) from our competition prize money. Still we can't complain too much since our finances are in a very good spot.

View attachment 113788

Finally we get word about our new Stadium. 13,129 will be our capacity. Not as good as I wanted it, but actually better than what I though they would give me. With our finances so much in the positive we didn't need to secure an external funding. Although wouldn't it be better to add more seats if we didn't need extra funding? Still the grounds will be called “Sterling Arena” and is only proper due to to what he has done for this team.

Team and Player Awards:

View attachment 113787

When ST Bjornsson went down with an injury our youth player just went on a tear. When Bjornsson came back he was limited with the reserves, and it showed as you don't pull the hot hand out, as he sets a team record for highest average rating of a 7.75 in 26 games.

He came close in a lot of other records being broken but just ran out of time. Still this team is very good and at least hopefully will stay together for another 2-3 years (before we can't afford some of our young stars).
Teams go through peaks and valleys, this might be the highest peak for Sterling yet.

So we would sell off no one in the pre-season...wait, what is this shenanigans? You mean we kept our youngsters? Yes we did, although GK Bjornsson is wanting out. Sterling did get to manage to hold off asking for a transfer by promising trophies in the next two years. Although his price is at an all time high it might just be worth getting rid of him now instead of gambling of winning trophies to re-sign him. Probably would run out of time before that happened and he would resign with someone for free instead of us. The upcoming starting lineup:
View attachment 113786
Fans are nervous, coach Sterling is nervous of what this season will hold. Right now he is on the team and will be key to us in Champs League. He has 50 caps now and only conceded just 26 goals in the league. One of the two key players on our defensive side.
View attachment 113785
16 more caps just last year puts his number now to 83 and is a keep player. Sure he isn't rated overall amazingly, but he does have the ability to be a force for our team. Even playing in Champs league doesn't seem to be overwhelmed when facing off against the bigger clubs anymore.
View attachment 113784
As a 17 year old he already has 24 caps and is linked to Bjornsson as the two keys in why we shut down teams. Even at 17 he is the hands down the best player on our team, and now the key is ride him for the highest rake of income we can get. He is already unhappy with the club wanting to move up, but Sterling will hold on until we have to absolutely have to give him up.
View attachment 113783
A youth player (17 years old) who looks to become the future for Svansson when he leaves. Right now is getting the start only cause of Svansson, but will be spliting time with proven center back Sigurdsson. He does have 7 caps to his name but again, hopefully more playing time he can be a proven linchpin for our back line.
View attachment 113782
He did get to play in about half of our league games last year, but he has been tapering off on his growth which is scaring Sterling and his coaches. Still is very good when it comes to the league, but now people think this is the weakest link out of the starting XI. Still not bad since he is really good. Has 23 caps as a 20 year old.
View attachment 113781
14 league games last year (37 caps total) for this 19 year old shows that his stamina is getting on par with everyone else. He has been able to relieve pressure on the opposite center back of Svansson for how defensively amazing he is. He never goes forward (coaches are perfectly fine with this), and is a huge key of why we post a ton of clean sheets.
View attachment 113780
This will get confusing as we both have Jakobssons (not brothers but we will refer to them as brothers) as they look to be very good. He is younger at just 18, but this is his first time being called up to the senior squad after spending last year on loan at Grotta.
View attachment 113779
17 caps last year moves his total to 31 caps overall for this 20 year old who has only had a year and a half on the senior squad. Proven midfielder. While he doesn't have the best ability he is very capable of dominating the midfield and will be key for us this year.
View attachment 113778
This 18 year old played in 15 caps last year for us. He now is up to 29 caps and seems to be the next great AMC we have. The problem is that these guys usually get sold for how good they are. Hopefully we can keep him around and he might have a chance to break the assist record.
View attachment 113777
All he does is improve and be a beast. Not only does he set up goals he acutally scores in double figures for the second straight year. Only being 21 he does have 43 caps and 32 goals.
View attachment 113776
He dethrones Bjornsson after a steller year when Bjornsson was injured for a few weeks. He went on fire a tthe start and never gave up as Bjornsson came back. So much so that in just 17 caps for this 18 year old striker he has 15 goals. The best goal to game ratio for a striker under Sterling ever.

BENCH
View attachment 113775
With not being good at really any position he is good to sub for many positions and found that role useful as he played in 11 games last year. His cap is up to 60 now for the 25 year old.
View attachment 113774
Weird to see this 21 year old coming off the bench who has 82 caps and 47 goals to his name. Also a two time Golden Boot and yet is coming off the bench. Question now becomes is that his contract is almost up and if he stays on the bench how much do you pay for your backup to sit. Right now is getting paid starter wages.
View attachment 113773
Teams are trying to steal him away with low transfer bids. While Sterling would do this for an Icelandic team it hasn't been one. So the 25 year old stays on the bench with 60 caps. Another jack of all trades for this team.
View attachment 113772
For being 21 he still sits on 7 cap swith 6 conceded goals. He is actually out of contract so it just month-to-month at 250 a week.
View attachment 113771
Grabbed only 7 caps last year, but as a 21 year old player (we are keeping our players now this is exciting) with 45 caps coming off the bench is invaluable. He hasn't improved in training, but that is cause of the lack of matches, but is still very good when called upon.
View attachment 113770
Once thought to be a future star has faded a bit as he only found 6 caps last year. Still coming off the bench with 50 caps is still very good. Before we would have a bunch of youth players as reserves but now we have veterans with experience coming off the bench. Even if a veteran player is only 21 years old.
View attachment 113769
Finish as the starting midfielder in 10 of the last 13 matches. He now has 66 caps for the 26 year old. While he is listed as a backup is a very good backup at that. Teams have been dangling a nice price, but its not that nice to where his experience costs us too much.
View attachment 113768
An American on the team. Don't worry we didn't buy him, he came up through our youth system, but he looks like he could be very good as a GK for our team. Moves up to number two on the depth chart and if we do lose Bjornsson it might not be as painful.
View attachment 113767
Just keeps falling on the depth chart for strikers. He does have 30 caps and 14 goals, but hasn't seen much match time in the past couple of years (12 caps in the last 2 years)and appears in games the subs see before Champs league.
View attachment 113766
Not bad when you have depth now at center back, that is if we can keep Svansson, and its very nice depth as a 21 year old who has 75 caps. Despite being on the bench we are still looking at him splitting time as a starter so he is more of a 1b instead of a 2.

SEASON PREVIEW

View attachment 113765

Just weird seeing FH still in 1. Deildkarla. Haukar who just got relegated and doesn't have the link with us will be an easy game. We do have IBV and Valur who will be our biggest hurdles, but if we can limit shots against us like last year it should be an easy path to get out of the group stage.

View attachment 113764

We sneak in to the Knockout stage, and I know these are good teams, but man do we play some of the top teams in the knockout stage as we now have to face off against Juventus. Again at least our fitness will be up, but it looks like the magic will again stop here.

great to follow. would be interesting if you finished 3rd in CL group to see how far you could go in the Europa

Thanks. As for Europa League I probably should of been in it the last two years with the way and again 6 points and I still advance? Since I can see into the future I can tell you that ...

2022 Deildabikar

View attachment 113738View attachment 113737

Only around 5,000 fans like Stjarnan. The rest of Iceland hates Stjarnan. We were just 8 minutes away of being the first time we would have had a clean sheet for all ten games played. Still it wouldn't be enough as we would of course give up a goal in the Finals.

Can you find any complaint about this team though. Only three games ended 1-0 (with one being the Semi-Final), and we just dominated teams. How dominate? We won the Quarter Final over Valur 5-0 (which we beat 5-0 in group stage) and throttled Fjolnir in the finals by the score of 9-1.

View attachment 113736

Fjolnir was the biggest overachievers as they made it to the finals. Problem was they had to face us and losing 9-1 to us probably wasn't very good for their fans. Still we had the top goal scorer, assister, and average rating for the first time under coach Sterling.

Record are meant to fall, but this only shows that it's going to be sad when he leaves. However, it won't be at the end of this year. Apparently telling him we would win a tournament (was assuming Champs League was what he was referring too) actually was just any tournament/cup so with this win Bjornsson decided he was happy enough from the promise that it gave us to a window to offer a new contract. He was still leary about our team and chances so it was only for 2 more years. But two years is all we need...

View attachment 113734

With the signing this is the offers we were receiving for him. Sorry but he is staying for at least another year. Which means that total will be up to hopefully at least 10 million next year.

View attachment 113733

For a 17 year old he is fetching a modest 5.5M. Of course we are not going to sell him right now.We will hold on until we absolutely have to sell him. Especially after setting a new shut out record.

View attachment 113732View attachment 113731

With that Final score it was now a new Deildabikar and team record (pic 1) with the 9-1 mark in the finals. Just to show how strong our side really is now we are keeping people for more than 3 years! Now 24 game winning streak (pic 2) is now a new Deildabikar record as well.

View attachment 113730View attachment 113729

Add another record as we set a new team record for goals (pic 1). We also didn't break it we crushed it by 7 more goals. In the finals Runar Baldvinsson would score 5 (pic 2) to show why he should be starting in front of Bjornsson.

View attachment 113728View attachment 113727

While we would have our first person for assists (pic 1) in the Deildabikar. It would be good enough to be the most ever for Deildabikar. With that he also grabs the highest rating in just 6 games for the Deildabikar (pic 2).

View attachment 113726

Stjarnan has won 7 straight Deildabikar (all with Sterling) to be the most decorated team in Deildabikar history.

View attachment 113725

12 players are still being called up ,but now we have 4 of them on the senior squad. I doubt Baldvinsson will be starting, but for my club he is and that is all that matters right now. Barcelona hasn't had much luck recently in the tournament, but England teams have since they won the last two years.

View attachment 113724

As you can see from the matches of the month we did not advance against Juventus in the knockout stage. However, we did score a goal at least.

View attachment 113723

Normally its a quiet month during the Deildabikar, but since we totally dominated it there was a lot to talk about. Now the eyes are set on the Islenska Frabaer Bikar (who we have to play Grotta who can't use our youth players which is sad) and then on the league.

KR is suppose to finish second, we shall see, but I am surprised that KR, Breioablik, and Por have that good of ratings against us. We have a 1000-1 odds to get relagated. I think just using our bench only for league we could still win the league (bringing up some other youth players to fill out the starting XI of course). If the Deildabikar is any way this season is going to be we are going to be in for one exciting season.

Funny to think that we have won the Frabaer Bikar three times with the score of 2-0. Which was our biggest win in the cup game until this year. We would actually use our bench for this game and cruise to a 6-0 victory.

KR is in first place! Stjarnan fans I think actually threw a party (maybe our league can continue to climb). We have to be second right? Sadly no, we are sitting in third place. We do have a game in hand and are only behind first by a point. But is anyone worried about first place? I know it's just 3-4 games, but Breioablik who used to be so solid is now sitting in 11 place with just a point.

Three keys to the month:

Another cup and another record. This might be a bad year for every other team in our league.

View attachment 113635

Sure Sterling granted his request. Doesn't mean he is going to sell him. It better be for the right price, but right now 5.5 million is not anywhere close to the right price. He already is unhappy so it won't matter when Sterling says “No” to each team's offer.

View attachment 113634

No Stjarnan player is on the list which is good. Actually we have nothing to do with this. Although Maimo FF has taken one of the players and they seem every year to take one or two people from our league. This is just sad and we need to hold our players in our own league!

Really 8 games this month. I guess that is fine. Still when we get to the fourth round of the Borgunarbikar cup we actually have a very good record. We got there this year and despite just a 2-1 win we did advance.

View attachment 111433

Record: 6-1-0
All-Time Record: 34-5-0

The world held its breath as KR tied us in a game. That would be the closest a team would come to beating us and the score was a 0-0 tie. We did allow goals in 4 of the 7 matches but none of those games were really close. We already have a double digit lead over Por who is in second place. KA has been on a tear of late (looking like they did when they made from noise back in 2017). There is still a race to who will get relegated, as currently the relegated teams are just a point out from the danger zone.

Three keys to the month:

Serbia (pic 1), Montenegro (pic 2), and Albania (pic 3) all decided to join the European Union. This doesn't affect our team personally, but it is good globally. Or we think so. Only time will tell...

View attachment 111429

We made the top 20 now for European Compeition. This is actually great news for our league. Would be nice to be top 10 so our youth players would want to stay, so again Sterling is still running up hill.

Iceland moved up 3 places now for the Coefficients table. Europa League is awesome. One team now in the Group Stage (free money to our third place team now. Lets get everyone professional status!!!) and we lost one from the Third Qualifying Round (was 2 now 1) and still have one in Second Qualifying Round.

As for Champs league it is a double edge sword. We move from the Third Qualifying Phase to the Best Placed Third Qualifying Phase. Plus we now have Stjarnan as automatically in the Group Stage. I like playing in the playoff's since that meant another 2 million in revenue, but at least it means it keeps us fresh for the league and means our starters get to play more.

All-Time Champions League Third Qualifying Phase: 4-0-1

Man our bench is good with people who have a bunch of experience under their feet as we would grab our first win in the quarter finals of the Borgunarbikar. Remember both losses were in shootouts before. With Champs league starting later we saw more of our starters play this month and our goals starting to climb as we won away in Champs League 5-0.

View attachment 111377

Record: 4-0-0
All-Time Record: 18-6-5
Two of the four games we allowed goals (3), but we did score 13 goals ourselves. KR moved into second place, apparently they want to try to go to Champs Group Stage like us, but they are not close enough to us as we now have a 15 point lead which is the largest at this point in the year. Breioablik started to turn things around as they are avoinding relegation, but still isn't good that the top 5 teams are only positive in goal differential.

Three keys to the month:

View attachment 111376View attachment 111375

Sterling reaching the 300 mark (pic 1) and shows that just at 2,382 days at Stjarnan (pic 2) has turned the team in a powerhouse with still over 70% win percentage. Also of the 35 people we have sold we finally broke the 10M mark which is good, but we are now averaging three-to-one for goals to goals allowed.

View attachment 111374View attachment 111373

A big leap for us in youth candidates (pic 1). First time we would have one of the best players of his generation (not even Svannson had this), but he is a striker instead of a centerback (pic 2).So looks like someone will be losing a spot here shortly to allow this player to be amazing. However we need to find better scouts for our team (we do have terrible ones) cause this is what they think of the most notable influence players are these two:

View attachment 111372

Good job scouts. I agree, lets sign him.

View attachment 111371

Not so much on this one. I am not even sure he could crack my senior squad in the next three years. Hey,maybe there is something I am missing, but just looking at his stats he doesn't even look remotely good.

But really nothing on...

View attachment 111370

Oh well, Bjornsson, we now have two really good prospects so your sting might not even hurt us at all.

View attachment 111369View attachment 111368

I can see why the scouts didn't put him up. Our tactic's don't run his natural position, so if he is going to play it's going to be out of position which we have done before. Or maybe they didn't think he is that good since he gets injured before even playing in a game(pic 2). Maybe he won't turn out to be that good from first glance at this stats.

View attachment 111367

Of course he is going to be good with that name. Funny how it is another striker and in the same class! But look at his off the ball and teamworking. I don't care about positioning, but is Sterling going to run with actual two 17 year olds next year at the striker position?

Due to the influx of players this year coach Sterling would iron out some other contracts before they reached their final year to keep the squad happy, and more importantly will keep them locked to the team for a couple more years instead of losing them on a free. Still we do have people under 19 squad we can call up, but don't want to lose anyone else on a free but now only from transfers.

All-Time Champions League Third Qualifying Phase: 5-0-2
All-Time Champions League Playoff: 6-4-2

It would be exciting times for us as Sterling would finally get to his first Borgunarbikar Semi Final. We would easily win and would see us in the final for the first time. With an easy 2-0 lead at half we somehow let them score two quick goals in the second half to go into extra's. We would bring in some fresh strikers (we got 6 now on our senior squad) and would score 3 times in extra to give Sterling his only county title cup missing from the trophy case. Fans can finally exhale knowing that Sterling does care, or that our depth is finally starting to work in our favor.

View attachment 111315

Record: 1-1-0
All-Time Record: 18-5-5

Two league games this month. With one round less of Champions League we might be able now to just run the table for everything (other than Champs we know we aren't any where close to that). KA somehow flipped spots with KR from last month and sit in second place. We still have a 10 point lead, but we do have 2 games on KA. KA has been holding their opponents of scoring anything as they are the only other team in double digits in goal difference.

Three keys to the month:

View attachment 111314View attachment 111313

Sterling couldn't get the 2K a week he wanted, but it was close. With the way he is dominating the league and now his senior squad growning people are wondering when the NT will make another run at him.

View attachment 111312View attachment 111311

Arnarsson showing why he might be the best ever as he broke Larus Bjornsson record for the youngest goal scorer in a Champs League game (pic 1). Just seven days later he would be the youngest goal scorer in league history (pic 2). At least one striker might be moved after this year.

View attachment 111310

Well so much for keeping our team in tact. This time it was our promising midfielder who is now sold for a measly 1.1 million. I will take the money but at least sell him for more especially when he was looking to be an icon at midfield for us. Oh well, like the saying goes...next man up.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP STAGE

View attachment 111309

Can we be excited for being a 3 seed in a draw? Sure that means we most likely are looking at least a minimal of 4 points in the Group Stage. Bad news is that so much for the luck of everyone else above just just trying to duke it out we sneak in the knockout stage with 6 points. However, the more experience the youth players can get the better we can become and we have a bunch ofyouth players now that need playing time. Man City got a second seed, and Milan is very tough so again the odds are not in our favor. Unless Man City and Milan can tie both there games against each other and we can manage to sneak out a win against one of them we should be good to advance. Lets dream big Iceland! Still should probably win both games at SK RapidWien this year.

September 2022 to End of Year

View attachment 111203

Month Record: 4-2-2
September All-Time Record: 25-9-10
Champions League Group Stage: 2-2-7

We would face off against the number four seed team in Champs league first at our place. So we got our win (we were heavy favorites) to start off champs league which usually doesn't happen as you can see from our record. We went on the road at the end of the month to take on Man City and they would easily dispatch us 3-0. Could have been 5-0 if it wasn't for some good saves by Bjornsson.

View attachment 111202

Record: 3-2-1
All-Time Record: 23-8-6

Four youth players would see a bunch of time to end the year in league play, and while we did not have the best record we would again tie for most points scored in the league with 55 points. We would also tie our best record of wins with 17. KA would hold onto second place (their HC is not the under 19 from my team anymore) took second. KR missed the automatic bid, but everyone else seemed to be bunched together so it again shows how good our league is turning out to be competitive.

Three keys to the month:

View attachment 111201

So close to maxing out our stadium. This is good cause we still have another year until our stadium is built and we need to get more fans out to our games.

View attachment 111200

Baldvinsson lead our team in goals with 10 but didn't get to play the last month of league matches for the youth players we just signed. Which meant he missed the Golden Boot, but will it be Baldvinsson who will be benched next year?

View attachment 111199

It was a lot closer than I thought it would be, but KA coach would take coach of the year by just 8 points. Maybe Sterling needs to just go undefeated each season and start his starters each league game to claim this award.

Man City looked clearly like the one seed and Milan played like a three seed. Two ties against Milan put us in position to advance, and when Man City beat Milan for the second time that would seal our fate in moving on. We didn't even need to do anything in our final game, but we did actually make sure Man City wouldn't win all their games as we would tie at our place. The magic of the group stage continues!

2022 Season Recap and Awards

SEASON RECAP:

View attachment 110743

So we didn't have the leading goalscorer or assist leader for the league. For how dominate we were it looks as if coach Sterling is now just running with two rotations coming into this year. Especially with the influx of new players at the end of the year.

View attachment 110742

Three-and-a-half star for us! Oh yeah the world is now on notice. Nothing is going to slow us down not even our league. The race is over now. Seasons are already now going to be handed to Stjarnan (sorry if this save becomes a little boring). We won most of everything already, but now we should be able to challenge more for the Deildabikar Cup, and for the league it will now become when will the earliest be for us to clinch the title. As for the Deildabikar and Frabaer Bikar will be how many goals and records will be broken. Sure now we have 10 teams with two-and-a-half star rep but we now have a full rep over those. Plus for how our team is build, even if we lose youth players to bigger clubs (looking at Bjornsson and Svannson) we now have the youth facilities to replace them without missing a beat. We might not be able to challenge top clubs in the world for the Champs League yet, but the growth and consistently performing in Group Stage is all we need.

View attachment 110741

It's been forever, if at all, if we released a high profile name on this list. It would come by Larus Bjornsson. Shocking to most, we just have too many good, younger, and more potential than the 21 year old who won the Golden Boot twice. While we would of liked have kept him, we know he is only good if he consistently gets playing time, and well after the year the youngsters had that was going to be slim to none.

View attachment 110740

Another increase in TV rights and we are oh so close to 200K. Just 25K short as we are granted 175K for the upcoming season. What will that number be like after our stadium is built?

View attachment 110739

Almost have a clean slate this year. Sadly Aegisson wanted to go and so he left to Fiorentina. Have fun playing on the B squad for the rest of your career buddy. With all the players we sent to Grotta they decided not to use a lot for some reason and didn't get promoted again. That's fine Sterling will keep on sending until they want to rise all the way up to the top division in Iceland.

View attachment 110738

Three revenues would drop this year. Last year would be the first time one would drop. This year it is Corporate & Hospitality, Match Day Commercial & Retail, and Broadcast revenues. Wasn't by a lot, but we did get more from Compeition Prize money so it all even out. We are still the richest club in Iceland by about ten times from the next closest team. KR who is close to 4 million in money sits in second place. Still we have no debts and that is the key to this successful run Sterling has been able to put together.

View attachment 110737

Gate receipts of 140K for one game. Oh yeah! This now means letting our players get paid now so we won't lose them unless our club is too small for them. Especially when the new stadium gets built. Oh that day will be a beautiful day for us.

Team and Player Awards:

View attachment 110736

Champs League was put on notice now that our youth facilities are top notch and if these top teams want to continue to stay a top team they might get some youth players for cheap from our team. Most 21 years olds are being sold at least for 35 million to bigger clubs. Bjornsson and Svannson are barely cracking 10M for their fee's. Still this is the reason why Larus Bjornsson was let go.

View attachment 110735View attachment 110734View attachment 110733

Baldvinsson shows why we let go of Bjornsson as he was just great for us with almost an 8 rating for the whole year and he played in 28 games. The sad part is he might not even be our every day starter this year.

Last year we wouldn't sell anyone in the preseason. That would be abnormally since we would sell off two people this year. However, coach Sterling didn't want to sell them for the price, but wanted them to go for free. Still we got almost another million, but it wasn't anyone from the senior squad. It was too youth players and both (pic 2, pic 3) are staying in Iceland so that is always good. Now the first time where who should start and who shouldn't start is finally rearing it ugly head for CoachSterling:
View attachment 110732
Still on the team and will be for at least the end of this year. Most people believe he will be sold then when his value is at the highest. Still he has 64 caps to his name now and only gave up 35 goals. Still we have depth now at this position where it won't be that hard of a hit.
View attachment 110731
Played in 15 league games last year and is oh so close to triple digit cap marks (98). Still is huge for us and we do have a nice sub so we don't have to worry about back-to-back games. Very impressive that he is 27 and still on this team. It seemed if you were over 24 you were sold before.
View attachment 110730
Proclaimed now as a wonderkid. Oh it's going to be painful when we will sell him after this year. Again will go the whole year unhappy but does have 40 caps to his name and still is the key to everything on our back line. Sterling still tries to resign him, but he wants no part of our team. Maybe a perfect league season and we can make around 20-25 million for him.
View attachment 110729
Only 18 but has only played in 22 league games. He hasn't been turning out the way Sterling wanted. While he is good he doesn't look like he will replace Svansson when he leaves. Again very solid, but compared to his partner he pales inability.
View attachment 110728
With 12 caps just last year pushes his mark up to 35. Won't get any better, but he is very solid in what we want him to do and the coaches are perfectly fine with that. With only being a two-and-a-half star in ability other big teams have asked for him and offered up to 3 million for him. Should show why he is a lock for our team.
View attachment 110727
Played a little less in caps last year from the year before (14 down to 12), but he does have 49 caps for being 20. Still with all these games we do have the ability to give him more of a rest. Not the best in stamina, but he has improved to where if we do need him to play in back-to-back games he is able to do so. If we do that we just have to rest him completely the next game.
View attachment 110725
Had a great year as a rookie for us as he garnered 14 caps and scored 3 goals. More time will make him even better and being 19 he still have plenty of time to hone in and get alot better.
View attachment 110724
He is our lock down midfielder. He only got 15 caps last year, but we know he is more important in bigger matches. Since we do have people who can cover the midfield don't expect him to see more than that again this year for the league.
View attachment 110723
Well he isn't Icelandic (Portuguese) so while that might hurt our NT if he is amazing he is going to get the start after we lost our standard at AMC because of a silly release clause. Played in 5 league games (and some champs group stage games) and did very well.
View attachment 110722
Has 52 caps and 40 goals. Not only does he score goals he is very good at setting up other people with assists. Which is why we are not starting both rookies at this spot. Plus probably not good that all our attacking players will be rookies. While they are all very good he is proven and very good himself.
View attachment 110721
After Baldvinsson set average record he loses his spot. Still did you think that when your scouts say he is best player of his generation that he would sit behind anyone? He got 5 caps last year and scored 6 goals so hopefully he can be the kind of striker like Svansson is to our back line.

RESERVES
View attachment 110720
Probably won't see much time this year. Sterling just likes to run with one goalie. However, while this 16 year old isn't in the plans this year he will most likely be our starter after we sell off Bjornsson. He does have 8 caps and gave up 4 goals.
View attachment 110719
Weird that we are benching a player who posted an 8 rating all of last year. Or that he has 29 caps with 25 goals. Still when you have a generation player someone will have to sit. Even if there is an injury we won't miss a beat with him coming in.
View attachment 110718
Teams still want him and Sterling won't budge. Gave an amount for teams at 1 million, closest people will offer is 550K. So with that he stays as a reserve with his 71 caps. He bounces all around for us and even in 5 caps he showed up in last year with a 7.28 match rating.
View attachment 110717
He looks amazing and probably won't play that much for our team. Sadly we don't run an AMR or AML so he isn't very good yet at AMC. So either he will be sold for a very nice price or hopefully he can learn AMC and we will be set at that postion (and for the NT). He did play in 4 games last year as well. All out of position too.
View attachment 110715
Just like the coaches says coach Sterling knows he is a very useful player. Doesn't play much league games, but see's a lot of time thoughout the year. Has 53 caps and won't miss a beat when he does start.
View attachment 110714
Since he comes in every other game he has been asking for a pay raise. Still he is just a backup and only cause we have so many back-to-back games we need it. Still 73 caps to his name is great and will still see a lot of time this year as well.
View attachment 110713
A 22 year old with 84 caps. Right now only one prospect, but as of now he has the experience to be a starter after Svannson leaves. Unless we get a clone of Svannson in the upcoming youth contracts, but he is still a solid choice to be a center back.

BENCH
View attachment 110712
Last year was number 2 on the depth chart. Moved to three, and next year will jump up to two again. He might get loaned out, which he rejected a loan to Grotta, but right now he stays on our bench. Only appeared in 1 cap but has appeared in a couple of non important matches.
View attachment 110711
Moves futher down our bench, but can fill in again any spots especially if it means we just need to get someone a rest. Will never play in Champs League or say a Cup final, but for everything else he will probably see playing time. For being 26 he has to have some value if he is staying on our team.
View attachment 110710
6 caps and 2 goals as a 16 year old. Still that age to start the year, but while he is good and could be great he is just the odd man out right now. He will get a lot of playing time, and could be a reserve player, but right now he is on the bench to start the year.
View attachment 110709
Just cause he is on our bench doesn't mean he won't be used. Just if he is not starting he will not be on the bench to come in. We just have too many younger, more potential people to play in front of him. Still will find time as he does have 59 caps as a 22 year old.

View attachment 110708

FH after a two year abstance from th etop division is back in. Por was a high finish for the past two years, but they still won't challenge us, and with the last Pepsi team being Leiknir R it looks as if we will cruise to the playoffs of the Deildabikar with ease this year. Last year we gave up one goal, but with the Champs League, all these new faces, we might struggle to find some goals and might give up a few this year.

View attachment 110707

We make the Knockout Stage again, most people might say we were lucky, but the luck now comes with the draw as we actually get a very favorable draw against Borussia Dortmund. Sure they beat us twice before in the group stage, but that was before we had the team we assembled now. Plus when we played we played more of a shell, and this year we will be looking to attack even when playing at their place.

If I told you that we would not start two games with the same XI would be believe me that we just dominated the league? We started off hot scoring a ton of goals despite switching out strikers and striker combinations. Each game we scored at least 2 goals in 8 games. The other two games we only scored 1.

We finally did it! We posted a shutout from group stage all the way to the finals. What might have been more impressive is that we had all three out of goalies play in the Deildabikar. I know we are a full rep star better than everyone else in our league, but these games weren't even close. Even with Champs play that would leave some of our players tired we just rolled over the competition.

View attachment 110508

We would have the top goal scorer, assister, and highest average. Last year the same person would own the assist and rating. This year would be similar, but it would be Magnus Bjornsson with top goal scorer and assister. Funny how the fourth striker on our team did this. Maybe he should be starting.

Last Years stats:
Went 10-0-0

Leading Assister: Goumundur Geirsson 7assists in 6 games

CHAMPS LEAGUE

View attachment 110507

We have to break this up this year from the Deildabikar since we finally got out of the knockout stage. While it was close we actually won both games. We went into their place with a 3-2 lead and at half it was all tied up 3-3. But two second half goals gave us the victory and we would face off against Man City who was in our group stage.

First leg was crazy as we would win the game 1-0. We would only hold them to 10 shots, yes 10 shots, and we would only attempt 6, but we would lose a key player that would basically lower our chances (one of the screenshots below). With Bjornsson out thats fine we will bring in our backup Geirsson. Now that wouldn't even last two games as he would get injured. So down to our third goalie that would lower our chances even more and it would be too great of us as they would cruise at their place. Only positive is that we did score a goal at their place.

NEWS, RECORDS, and PREVIEW LEAGUE PLAY

Hey a new sponsorship. Sure it's peanuts, but it's something. We will always take it.

View attachment 110504

This was a bit of a surprise for everyone, but the quickest goal for us would come in the knockout stage of Champions League.

View attachment 110503

The record continues to grow. Still 30 games is impressive, but 19 of the last 20 have been shutouts.

View attachment 110502

Man City noooooo! So we win the first game, but with that victory we see maybe our chance of moving on to the semi's slip as Bjornsson got a broken hand in the last five minutes of the game.

View attachment 110501

I wonder what this number will be like in 5 more years. Our team is good and mostly all (only 2 on our senior squad are of different counties) so I wonder when my whole senior squad will be called up. Still our NT is climbing so that is good news as well.

View attachment 110500

Is KR really that close to us to dethroning us? I am not sure, but what is even more crazy is that FH who been in the lower division for the past two years is now suppose to finish fifth and has 60-1 odds. KA who finish top 3 has 700-1 odds so is that just FH really that good. They didn't buy anyone great so I wonder how they improved so much.

All-Time Frabaer Bikar Record: 7-0-0 (2 times in extra, with 1 ending in a shootout)
All-Time Borgunarbikar Third Round Record: 5-0-3 (3 times in extra, with 3 ending in a shootout)

Frabaer Bikar is ours again with the score of 2-0 (4 out of the 7 games we played in). Actually it would have been called the 2-0 month since four of the five games we played in that was the score. The only other game that wasn't 2-0 was a 3-0 win for us.

KR suppose to finish second has only settled for three ties in the first month. Fram and Keflavik has shown the mini version of us as they are in second and have a goal difference of 4 and 3. Still this is our month and while we have again shown a different lineup each game we look like a world class team. Most teams are getting 2 shots total (not shots on target just shots) and we are putting up around 20 a game. Our finishing is lacking right now, maybe due to the switching of players each match, but once we do it might get ugly for the league.

Three keys to the month:

Another trophy (pic 1) and another attendance record (pic 2). Will any one be able to threaten us this year?

View attachment 110439View attachment 110438

So our generation player of course is going to get to play in this game and while he sets the age record (pic 2) he actually got to score in the game which would be a year for youngest goalscorer (pic 1).

View attachment 110437

Another club came and took away someone else. It would be Vigfus H.O. Arnason who has been on our team since Sterling took over, but has yet to be even be called up to the senior squad. While he was a center back he isn't good enough for our team but might be great for Afturelding. Plus this time we didn't have to receive any compensation for it since he left on a free.

For whatever reason against KR we decided to not worry about an offense as we would only get one point. Other than that it was normal business for us as we won every game by a shutout. With the Borgunarbikar Fourth Round we have been great, if we been able to advance to it, and this year wouldn't be any different as we would win easily in a 4-0 rout.

View attachment 110256

Record: 4-1-0
All-Time Record: 38-6-0

I guess my starters were already thinking of taking a rest in the KR game since we decided for the first time all year we wouldn't get more than 5 shots in the game. It's been maybe a couple of years (since Champs Group Stage in our shell) since we had less than 5 shots in a game. Other than that our offense finally started to put up goals as the lowest scoring output was three goals.

Fram has faltered and KR despite getting the tie is still thinking this is pre-season. Keflavik and Fylkir are showing in great form as they are tied for second and have great goal difference (10 and 8 respectively). Leiknir R. looks to be outclassed and is all but sure to be relegated. They only have 4 points, and are close to getting out, but they can't seem to stop opponents from scoring.

Three keys to the month:

Maybe Geirsson isn't the backup to Bgornsson since he is now injured for the second time this year. Good thing we didn't loan out Hlavaty.

View attachment 110254View attachment 110253

Leagued moved up 5 spots. While we are 14 now in the world still not good enough to keep our young stud players on our team. We might need to be a top 10 league for that and right now it looks like we might be 2-3 years away before cracking that.

View attachment 110252

So we dropped a place. How was that even possible. Either way we will go up next year again after how far we got this year. Still despite losing both the group stage team in Champions and Europa that is actually good for us. Just means we get some extra money by playing in the playoffs.

While we only got to the Quarter Finalof the Borgunarbikar four times in eight years under coach Sterling we would go .500 as we score the lowest output at the month with one goal. The sad news came on July 23 when we would play Valur in the league and would win 2-1. It would be the first time all year we would give up a goal in the Pepsi-deildin.

KR apparently only likes to play late in the year. They climb all the way up to third. FH didn't want them to be the only ones who climbed as they are right on KR heels. However, Keflavik holds a 6 point lead over KR, and we hold a 10 point lead over Keflavik. Fylkir who sits in six does have a positive goal difference but the two teams above them (Valur and FH) have -1 and 0 goal difference. Leiknir R. is all but relegated as they still have just one win on the year.

Just to show how amazing we have been to start off the league with 12 shutouts.

What might be more impressive is that we have had 18 games since April 21 of shutouts.

We finally cracked this list and about time as well. Honestly if it wasn't this year it would easily be at the end of this season when we will have to sell off our two best players. It's painful, but rumor has it that Coach Sterling has been looking at some other players from different leagues now. As of now nothing will happen since Bjornsson and Svansson are still on the team.

All-Time Borgunarbikar Final Record: 2-0-0 (1 game in extra time)
All-Time Champions League Third Qualifying Phase: 5-0-2
All-Time Champions League Playoff: 6-4-2

Again we would make the finals of the Borgunarbikar Cup. Again for the second straight year one of the games would go into extra time. This year it would be the Semi-Finals, but we really didn't try until extra time where we would find two goals.

We faltered a little with two ties with one of the games we couldn't find the net. Out of the four games two of them we allowed a goal. Despite having a 15 point lead we still haven't clinched the league, but Sterling can see the team starting to get complacent. FH is making a push for second now. Guess I was wrong about their odds at the beginning of the year as they sit in fourth currently and only four points out from second. KR sits in seventh but still has two games on most people.

Apparently we are a goalkeeper factory. Baldvinsson could move into the second spot on our roster since our backup can't stay healthy for the year. Although Pall Gunnarsson is a CB and looks like he will be called up after we sell off Svannson.

Shocked to see coach Sterling first for America (pic 1), but we have been breezing through our league so I wouldn't put too much stock into this since he enter coaching. We would already celebrate the treble this year with a 2-0 win in the Borgunarbikar Cup Final. What is it with 2-0 scores in finals for us? Must be an American thing...

Sterling plans might have backfired on offering some players bonus for winning this cup when signing them to new contracts. Although Hlavaty is third...er, well now fourth on our depth chart after the newly sign goalkeeper.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP STAGE

Man Utd will be though since they won it a couple years back. Lyon and FC Red Bull Salzburg really don't seem to challenge us so we should easily cruise through to the knockout stage. Yeah I said it, we are actually favorites this year which is shocking. Lets hope we play like we did the last couple of years and not like the favorites seeds in the past and just win one game in group stage.

We would face off against the number four seed team in Champs league first at our place. So we got our win (we were heavy favorites). We went on the road at the end of the month to take on Man City and they would easily dispatch up 3-0 which could have been 5-0 if it wasn't for some good saves by Bjornsson.

So close to maxing out our stadium. This is good cause we still have another year until our stadium is built and we need to get more fans out to our games.

Baldvinsson lead our team in goals with 10 but didn't get to play the last month of league matches for the youth players we just signed. Which meant he missed the Golden Boot, but will it be Baldvinsson who will be benched next year?

It was a lot closer than I thought it would be, but KA coach would take coach of the year by just 8 points. Maybe Sterling needs to just go undefeated each season and start his starters each league game to claim this award.

We got our three wins we were expected to win this year (two against fourth seed FC Red Bull Salzburg, and a home win against one of the top two seeds). However, we didn't expect to tie the other three games and win the group stage.

So we didn't lose Man United who is one of the top 5 teams to win it this year. We jumped up finally in odds by 100 so we are now just 100-1. I am currently confused about the odds. Clearly my team isn't a top 5 world team. I know this, the world knows this, every reporter knows this, but yet every game we either had the odds in our favor (we were actually favor to win on the road at Lyon!). Even on the road at Man United, they had the odds, but it wasn't great odds and the reporters were saying for how in form we were that they could see it easily being a tie with us winning. Either everyone is drinking the wrong Kool-Aid, or one of these published odds are wrong. I will still say its the game odds cause while we do have some really good people (our GK and CB are being looked at by all the top teams in the world) most are still young and experience. Plus our wing backs are the best and while our midfield is solid they aren't going to wow anyone.
