2023 Season Recap and Awards

SEASON RECAP:

View attachment 109727

We would claim the titles of top Goalscorer, assists, and average again. Once again we would win the league and this time by 18 points. We would shattered all types of records, and well despite going 18-4 we posted a ton of shut outs. While this is all find and dandy the rest of the league is now cornered we are too good for the league. Now the clock is on for when we will lose both our goalie and centerback. However, their moral is slightly improving (they are just not straight red anymore) so maybe there is a sliver of a chance for us to sign them. If so it will be all over for the league. Still even if they do both go we will win the league next year we just probably win 18 games or shut out almost everyone.

Valur who was suppose to get relegated finishes in third. They must be mad. Last year that meant you would be in the group stage of the Europa, and this year they will have to qualify now for the Europa league. The pre-season favorites who were suppose to finish third shockingly, I say that with sarcasm, got relegated.

View attachment 109726

There are a couple of green arrows in our league this year which is really good. The biggest one being KR and KA as they now sit behind us respectively, but are still a full star behind. Hey even some 1. Deild karla and 2. Delidkarla teams are improving. So that is just the cherry on top. One sad bit of news is that while Grotta won the 2. Deild karla league they somehow went down in rep rating. Maybe I am sending them too many players and it is hurting them growing their own.

View attachment 109725

Sterling would finally take a coaching qualifications course and would get his Continental Pro License which took him the whole year to do. Now how dangerous is the best coach in Iceland going to be?

View attachment 109724

Winning the league saw an increase as we are now close to 30K for winning first. This is only promising of what our league is now doing as a whole.

View attachment 109722

32K increase for TV rights in one year. I don't think anyone else has build a stadium yet, but that was a big increase as we sit now at 207K for the year.

View attachment 109721

Another year and no one sold really. Sure we had 2 people but that was mostly from pre-season who were on the under 19 squad and they sold only cause of compensation. As you can see we sent again another year of players to Grotta on loan as well as more teams in our league.

View attachment 109720

This is the first year they actually posted the league sponsorship standings. Sure the league doesn't make that much (5 million) but just think what it has been prior since they never brought it up. We are the tops at 850K last year but we shall see it over a million after next year (all about the new stadium).

View attachment 109719

We are back on a rise for everything. Some new deals now put our annual sponsorship deals at 1.11M. Now the question to ponder is will these numbers go up or down next year after losing two starters?

View attachment 109718

So now we have 21 people called up for International Duty. While that is a staggering number it isn't as impressive as Sterling would like. Only 6 are on the NT. 8 are on the Under 21 (I bet a couple will be moved up next year for how well they played for us this year), and 6 are showing on the under 19 team. We do have one for another country in Portugal under 21.

View attachment 109717

Normally Stjarnan doesn't release this number to the public. However, we got a huge increase in both numbers this year. We went up about 250K for payroll salary and around 20 million in transfer budget. Funny thing is our wages is only set at 80k a week right now.

Team and Player Awards:

View attachment 109716

Arnarsson would already get the call up to national team at the tender age of 17 and would score his first goal international goal. What was shocking is that it was not only against Spain, but it was the goal that put us in the lead. Iceland national team is sky-rocking back up to mid twenties rankings, and fans are happy coach Sterling didn't take over the NT. Although some more players are popping up now as regulars on the NT.

View attachment 109715View attachment 109714

Our record would stand for the full year as the league we now currently are on a 25 game unbeaten streak (pic 1). We finished the season unbeaten (pic 2) but now the new streak everyone is talking about is if we can actually post the perfect 22 mark. It doesn't seem far away now especially with the depth (crazy how a couple years ago we had no depth) and the ability to bring in subs who are quality players.

View attachment 109713

Did anyone not seeing this coming into the season? It will be a sad day once we sell Bjornsson off. Still 14 league shutouts is very impressive.

View attachment 109712View attachment 109711

18 wins (pic 2) and the 58 points (pic1) for the year is a new record. I think our fans wanted 66 points, but 58 isn't too shabby.

View attachment 109710View attachment 109709

Oh so close to the max capacity for attendance with 4,854 for the league (pic 1). We need to max it out this year since our stadium will be build at the end of next season (finally). One good note is that for the year we do have 6,313 attendance as for the whole season.

View attachment 109708

An average rating by someone who isn't an attacking player. Well this is good news. So much that our wingbacks aren't very good. An 8.14 for league play in 14 games is very good.

View attachment 109707

This is just cruel. Player of the Year goes to the best rated player in the league. Just cruel knowing that we have to lose him. Real Madrid and Barcelona have both offered 25 million after the group stages of Champs League. Sterling decline hoping we can get him excited about staying on our team.

View attachment 109706

Arnarsson who tied two other players, but would win the Golden Boot because of less appearances. He only had 13 league games played so just assume what that number would be if he was getting the games like Tokiv and Bjornsson were getting?

View attachment 109705

Another year and another sweep for Icelandic Young Player of the Year. Two ST and a M claim this award that is just turning into a team award.

View attachment 109704

Another goal of the year. This isn't so shocking now for how many goals we put up now. We are more of an offensive team and while in the league we run more of a control style instead of an attacking style. Sure we probably could score 5 or 6 goals each game if we were more attacking, but I think we wouldn't post the shutouts, and Sterling is fine with 2-0 or even 3-0 wins instead of 4-1 or 5-3 scores.

View attachment 109703

Sterling would win head coach for another year. Still this one would be impressive as it is the first time that a head coach got over 1,000 points (1,015).

View attachment 109702

Only 4 players made it on the Icelandic Team of the Year. While this could be more like all 11, we do shuffle our lineups and you could tell as our top goal scorer only played in 13 of the 22 league games this year.

View attachment 109701

All this means is that we don't have people missing games since of silly yellow cards culmination. Although I wonder if we could press a little more in the league without losing this. Still can't complain when you set all the records we did this year and still get this award.

View attachment 109700

So the assist record would be broken by a wing back. Yes, in Champs League they play mostly back, but we do allow them to move forward in the league. Which is why if we moved more to attacking we would allow a lot more goals.

2024 Team and Breakdown

We would only sell one person off in the off-season and it was a goalie. Not it wasn't Bjornsson, or well a GK on our senior squad (we have 4), but it was a reserve goalie who was 24 years old and never saw the time of day for our team. He went on to sign for Leiknir R. on a free. With that the new starting lineup for the 2024 season:

View attachment 109633
Wahoo! Still on the team in the pre-season. 83 caps and only 39 goals allowed. It was nice knowning you my friend, but it looks still his ego doesn't want him here. The countdown is 6 months away. That will be before he can leave on a free which we won't do again like the Tokic situation.
View attachment 109632
First player in a long time who had over 100 caps for our team. He sits now with 112 and coming off of the year where we set the team record in assists in league play. Will it continue for the 28 year old or will he start to regress with only playing in half of our matches?
View attachment 109631
Up to 55 caps and that might be all he will see. He will probably be the first to go and rumor is he won't even last until league play starts in May. Still Sterling is holding out hope he will pull a Bjornsson and at the last moment will sign an extension for another 2 years just to keep him a tad longer.
View attachment 109630
Another year and another promise of someone who can cover for when Svansson leaves. He did get 4 caps last year, and did play in all 6 of the group stage games, so he does has some promise as a 17 year old. Then again so did the previous three players before him. Two are on the bench and we sold the other. While his stats mostly looks good his determination is low at 4.
View attachment 109629
Lost a half star in ability from last year, but he is still solid for us. Despite losing that half star he is still amazing and played in 15 caps last year to push it up to now 49. Plus Sterling likes all the stats so right now he is still the starter. We do have some youth who been loaned yet that might take his spot next year, but for now is the clear choice.
View attachment 109628
Despite not having amazing stats as a player he is amazing. As a 21 year old has 62 caps for our team, and does a great job at DM for us. He is vital to us since this is our weakness position, as for a backups, but honestly if he is healthy and has stamina he is always our first choice. He is our unsung hero on the team. Which he is perfectly fine with.
View attachment 109627
Don't worry about this 20 year old stats dropping. He is still very good, and I don't know why he is dropping. He just signed a new contract at the end of the year to keep him for at least another 3 years. Does only have 28 caps, but with a multiple of options at this position he gets to see rest to stay healthy for top competition.
View attachment 109626
60 caps for this 22 year old. While he is only a two star in ability now (why is everyone dropping now?) but is still again very solid for us, even when it comes to Champs League. He doesn't have the best stats have for a midfielder, but just plays better than most of our other options which is why we gets to start.
View attachment 109625
18 caps and 8 league goals for this 17 year old kid. He is good enough now to where our attack is spearheaded by him. Only time will tell how much better he gets, but if there is one position we have lost in the past to bigger teams it s this position. Still he is 17 and has 2 years left on his deal. He should be getting a new deal before next year though.
View attachment 109624
Our best striker on the team by far and being the third starter on our team who is 17. Again we are all young but 18 caps and 21 goals, with winning the Golden Boot, and we should be fine here for years. Or until he doesn't want to re-sign with us. While his contract is up in two years he might get a new deal before the league starts just to quell the minds of the coaching staff and fans.
View attachment 109623
Had a great Deildabikar group stage that got him into the starting lineup last year. At the end of the year he would be switch spots with Armarsson to change the complacency. Still 20 caps for this 17 year old and already has 11 goals in the league with more throughout other competitions.

RESERVES
View attachment 109622
Once again a promising looking centerback to replace Svansson. He hasn't improved really and with that he is being benched in favor of another youth player to see. Although once the sell of Svansson happens he will be back in the starting lineup. He does have 38 caps as a 19 year old.
View attachment 109621
Despite being relegated to the bench halfway thought the season he still got 11 caps for us and this is one of the positions where we alternate games of starters. So if anything its not like he got demoted but more of extra days off for rest. Still 44 goals is very good for our team when we need to score.
View attachment 109620
Shocking a 17 year old keeper without a league game start to his name. How do you play him in a game while Bjornsson is red hot. Still his time before he is our starter has already started and is closing in the final minute. He already looks to be league ready, maybe not Champs League, but still should win plently of games. Just might not win most by shutouts.
View attachment 109619
37 caps with 32 goals for his 20 year old. If we didn't have two great 17 strikers he would be our leading man. Still he will get a lot of time like Kolviosson, but will just be coming off the bench.
View attachment 109618
Has 79 caps as a 27 year old. After the past couple of years playing wing back for us is now only a bench player to come in as a sub at MC. He might see some more goals finally, but is more just to keeping our midfield fresh.
View attachment 109617
12 caps for this 17 year old. He might actually be better than Nunes, but again it is like our striker position. He gets his time in games, but since he isn't the starter is more of a rotation when it comes. Two games in one week he is already slated as a starter for one of them. Since he isn't a true AMC is the only reason why he is not getting the start. However, just for NT wise it might be good to move him to the starting role.
View attachment 109616
23 year old with 61 caps to his name. Like most attacking positions is probably as good as the starter ahead of him (his stats aren't exactly as strong though) and is still a very useful player to our team. When Geirsson needs a rest he gets the start without hesitation.
View attachment 109615
Some people wonder if he should be the starter since he is getting more attention in the transfer market. Or maybe that is only cause he is on our bench. Still is very solid and gets a lot of time as he has 83 caps now as a 28 year old. Although he is getting up in age is still very good and by the time he is 30 he should break the century mark for caps for us.
View attachment 109614
For being 23 and 93 caps you would think he would be a starter. Still not a starter, but with having 4 center backs we can change them out when someone gets tired. So easily hit the 100 caps this year especially with Svannson leaving, but despite his two star ability he is still a very valid option.

BENCH
View attachment 109613
Still number three on the depth chart now, but is turning into a very sold backup despite the lack of games. He did get 22 caps last year with Grotta (only 1 with us) and lead them to promotion. He didn't want to go back this year so now just sits on the depth chart. Might move him to under 19 squad just to get some playing time.
View attachment 109612
Known as old faithful on our team. He isn't the oldest player on our team at just 27, nor caps (80), but is the weakest position player we have. Still he is the only backup we have right now for DM, and while he does play he still is better than most of the league it seems like. We have depth everywhere else, but he can play multiple positions for us.
View attachment 109611
23 years old with 67 caps. Starting to get worst with the lack of playing time, but on the pitch he seems to be very good. Sure three of the league ties he was playing, but we did have most of our second squad out there.
View attachment 109610
After a loan from Grotta last year he makes his way back to the senior squad, but is fifth on the depth chart and probably won't see the time. We asked him to go back out on Loan but being 24 he wants no part of it.

View attachment 109609

KA, Valur, IBV, and Keflavik will be battling out for second. Even with using our second squad, and we have the ability right now to run a full second squad now. I doubt we would even lose first place in the group stage. Man our team is turning into a power house. I just hope our best crops of new players this year isn't headline by another goalie.

View attachment 109608

We make the Knockout Stage again, most people might say we were lucky, but the luck now comes with the draw as we actually get a very favorable draw against Borussia Dortmund. Sure they beat us twice before in the group stage, but that was before we had the team we assembled now. Plus when we played we played more of a shell, and this year we will be looking to attack even when playing at their place.

POSITION BREAKDOWN:

Goalkeepers:
Starter: Bjornsson
Backups: Baldvisson, Hlavaty, Geirsson (on loan to Grotto)

Might be our best position. Bjornsson has just been dominate the last two years. Baldvisson and Hlavaty are already probably the next two best goalies in our league, although they haven't had much time on our senior team.

Backline:
Starter: Aegisson (DR), Baldvinsson(CB), Svannson (CB), Geirsson (DL)
Backups: Nokkvason (DR), Sigurdsson(CB), Karlsson (CB), Helgason (DL)

Svannson is world class, but not really anyone else as a starter or a backup. Aegisson is getting up there on age, but our depth is all under 25 and can play without missing a beat for our starters. While no one will replace Svannson we still posted some shutout without him in the lineup in a few games last year.

Defensive Midfielder:
Starter: Valgeirsson
Bench: Gudmundsson

Our weakness spot for sure. At least depth wise. We might have some options in our youth, but Gudmundsson is too experience to lose his spot as a backup right now. Really need Valgeirsson to be able to get his stamina up, but right now when he is in there it is hardly a chance for opponents to rattle off multiple goals (looking at your champs league).

Midfielders:
Starters: O. Jakobsson, V. Jakobsson
Bench: Petursson, Knutsson

On paper 3 of the fourth aren't very good but in this tactic and team they play well. That or all other positions outshine to mask for their lack of ability. While we don't have a key name guy we can't complain too much. Although our bench is getting up in age so we might need to infuse some new blood coming up. Especially if Knutsson and Petursson will be sold since those two are the only midfielders that teams want.

Attacking Midfielder:
Starting: Nunes
Bench: Halldorsson

If only Halldorsson was a true AMC... still he gets a lot of playing time. Even if Nunes gets poached from us I don't think most of our fans would matter. I think they might prefer it since then an Icelandic player would be back in the starting role. Nunes is more of a scorer for us while Halldorsson is more of the playmaker. Still this position they will trade off so it's not really like a true starter and bench player.

Strikers:
Starters: Arnarsson, Bjornsson
Bench: Kolvidsson, Baldvinsson, Svansson

Our strongest position. While we rotated each game last year with strikers we might want to do that a little less when it comes to league play this year. At the end of the year it seemed this bunch became the most complacent as they knew they weren't going to play the next game and saw our scoring dip despite putting up 20 shots a game. We only play a max of 4 strikers a year so it looks like Svansson is the odd and old man out of this rotation.

2024 Deildabikar

View attachment 109606

Coach Sterling would mostly flip his starting XI each game. Only when there was a game before Champs league (if it was the starters turn) he would bench them and let the reserves play again to keep the starters rested. We wouldn't shut everyone out this year as we would only post 6 shutouts. It looks as if the 17 year olds are not the future since the future is now.

First game they would put up 5 goals against an Pepsi-deild team. Still this year only one game did we only score one goal in (reserves played) and that came in the Quarter Final despite putting up 24 shots. KR would score first in the Semi Finals, but just like us in the past in the knockout stage of the Champs league we would just pound away and take the game from them. The finals saw the reserves play and they posted another 3-0 shutout to show that even when we lost our two key players we will be fine.

View attachment 109605

With two squads running every other game basically it would be a hard feat to post one of the three awards. Yet we did it with a stiker in Kolviosson and also he had the highest rating with a 8.27. The biggest overachievers came from our group in Afturelding. They were one of the four team who was able to score on us too.

Last Years stats:
Went 10-0-0
Outscored Opponents 29-0

Outscored Opponents 34-4
Had 6 clean sheets
Leading Goalscorer: Hrafnkell Ulfur Kolvidsson 8 goals in 7 games
Leading Assister: Runar Baldvinsson 5 assists in 7 games

Total Years under Coach Sterling (10years):

CHAMPS LEAGUE

View attachment 109604

A whirlwind of Champions league leads to “what if”...

Knockout Leg one. What if... coach Sterling change tactics to the shell game in the sixty-second minute after we scored our second goal of the match to go up to 2-0. When he finally did in the seventieth minute that game would already be tied 2-2 and we would then go on to lose the first leg 2-3. For the second leg they would go up 1-0 first, but 3 straight goals from us would send Bayern home empty handed.

View attachment 109603

The soccer gods would give us the easiest game in the Quarter Finals. Or so we though. In the first leg we again were on the road. What if... coach Sterling would come out from the gate in an attacking formation. Why would he since he has never done that in the past 9 years? Still we would see our so called easy leg be a very difficult one as we would would be in a 2-0 hole with thirty minutes of play left. Still he would change his tactics to attacking and in just a span of two minutes we would find two goals to head home in what looked to be a locked up game.

What if... coach Sterling just did what he normally did and start from the beginning with his shell tactic. All we had to do is tie 0-0, and honestly the world thought that this is what would of happen. In all things crazy he came out in the normal-run-of-the-mill game using control. Wasn't so crazy after we were almost about to head into stoppage time with a 3-0 lead. They would manage to score one, and almost another one before the final whistle was blown.

View attachment 109602

Porto and Barca usually beat us, and well we already played ManU in the group stages this year and have two ties against them. Could this be the year we somehow sneak into the finals? Sadly before the first game would be played Svansson would get an offer too good to turn down. That meant it was time to put some players on the block. Bjornsson wasn't happy we put him on the block, but he wasn't going to resign with us. Svannson was painful for the whole city to see him go and he went the fastest and selling for an amazing fund (will post when the transfer goes through). Now the question was about Bjornsson and what if he sold him before group stage of this year when the team got an offer for 15 million. Despite making it to the Semi Final he wasn't even getting looked at, but it now looks as if we are going to lose him for free.

Still for the first game what if... coach Sterling changed his counter tactics to shell tactics in the second half when we had the lead. In stoppage time they would find a goal to give it the third time this year we would end the game against them in 1-1 fashion. The second leg is at our place. The shell tactic would come out, but what if... coach Sterling would of waited until after Champs league to sell Svansson as we didn't look as solid in the back and would lose at home 0-1. What if we would of have won...

NEWS, RECORDS, and PREVIEW LEAGUE PLAY

View attachment 109601

Another under 19 team player poached from another league team. This I am fine about, if anything it is just going to build the league up a little faster. For him he is actually decent but is more of an MR and we don't use those so it is good he is moving on.

View attachment 109600

Another out of position player (AMR, MR) who looks like he could be good but will never play on our senior squad since he can't play for our tactics. Still I rather let ProtturR. get him for free so they could spend the money somewhere else.

View attachment 109599

Selling off some people made us lose some players, and probably going to drop two more before the year is over. Still 15 people on the NT (5 on the senior squad) isn't bad for Sterling and his coaches.

View attachment 109598

Just like the league...err, well the league is just like Deildabikar group stage. We have been dominate for the past couple of years and that continues as we now have a 42 game winning streak. This with the fact we basically use two different squads now is very impressive

View attachment 109597

With those 42 wins means that there is a new Deildabikar record. All I know is that the only team that will beat this record will come next year as we add too it. Other than that, no team will ever come close unless they get to avoid us in the Group Stage. Then again they had to play us in the playoffs and we still know how that goes.

View attachment 109596

Well Sterling is getting awarded with 100 dollars extra a week in salary as he now moves up from 1.9K a week to 2K a week with a 3 year extension. Rumor had it that he was looking for a new challenge in Iceland and was thinking about leaving to takeover a lower division team. Yet that was just a rumor with the signing of this new deal.

View attachment 109595

The league welcomes KA now as the third team to be professional. So now the top three teams to win the league, but we all know Stjarnan will, are the only three professional teams in Iceland. FH moves up again this year to 9-1, but again they were professional and somehow lost that title. Now the question is which team of: Fram, Valur, or Vikingur R. will finish top three in the league? And will KA get relegated after finishing third last year and turning professional?

how are the league standing & coefficients coming along?

I had to go back to see where we are at. We jumped up to 14th last year (which is where we sit) and our coefficients (apparently didn't post I don't think) but here are some screenshots. First for the League Competition Rankings...

View attachment 109432

Then for the Coeffiecents...

View attachment 109431

As for the league rep we are taking the biggest jump and everyone else is mostly packed together, so the league isn't progressing the way I wanted too. I am a couple more years into this so I don't want to spoil anything. I don't think it's what most people would predict, or maybe it will be, but there are some very shocking surprises.

May 2024

View attachment 109430

Month Record: 6-1-1
All-Time Record: 43-3-4
All-Time Frabaer Bikar Record: 8-0-0 (3 times ending in a shootout)
All-Time Borgunarbikar Third Round Record: 6-0-3 (3 times in extra, with 3 ending in a shootout)

With Champs league pushing into May (we cover Champs league with the Deildabikar) we won't recap it. However with the amount of games it did give us some pressure on the Frabaer Bikar. We would win it in comeback fashion in a penalty shutout, but normally our mindsets are high after winning the Deildabikar and going straight to the Frabear Bikar. As for the Third Round of the Borgunarbikar we broke a new record for highest scoring game as we won easily 7-1. The lost in the Semi's might have of had that affect, but with our trio of 17 year olds wouldn't be down for long...

View attachment 109429

Record: 3-0-0
All-Time Record: 28-2-0
We wouldn't be able to sell Bjornsson off, and with that came a rift between player and coach. After the past three years and now not commanding the fee coach Sterling or the Board felt was a good price they decided to let him move for free. However, Bjornsson thinks now since he is still on the team he is the starter. Guess you shouldn't of talked about leaving cause as of now he is listed as a backup and the new 17 year old prospect is playing.

As for the league we sit in second place. Don't worry it is only cause Vikingur R. is sitting in first with one more game than us. Our trio of 17 year olds would set the league on notice that they are going to torch the league as we have scored 15 goals in three games (Bjornsson has 8). So right now it looks like Vigingur R. is the team that will finish high and KA is going to have a down year. I know it's only three games but KA doesn't have a win yet while they were on a good run in the Deildabikar making it to the semi-finals.

Three keys to the month:

View attachment 109428

37 of our players are now playing in the league. Not too shabby, but if that number expands in the future we hope it is with people from our Under 19 team and not from our senior squad.

View attachment 109427View attachment 109426

Honestly I expected us to move up this year, but not 3 spots. We are getting to the ever elusive top 10 in the world (pic 1). With that we go back to having one team next year make the group stage in both Champs League (That will be us) and onefor Europa League (pic 2). Well I guess this makes the previous post irrelevant now. Opps sorry.

Another record fans at the hands of a team that is just looking to survive in the top division. Let alone they face off against us in the Borgunarbikar Third Round.

Month Record: 4-1-0
All-Time Record: 48-7-1
All-Time Borgunarbikar Fourth Round Record: 5-0-1

We would continue to won the Borgunarbikar Fourth Round (its the Third Round or Quarter Final we use to have trouble with) as it would be the only game we would post a shut out in. This was a month that our fans were not really happy about, and now are fretting if this is going to be a thing of the future.

View attachment 109405

Record: 3-1-0
All-Time Record: 41-7-0

KA didn't get any breaks as they open this month against us, but would go on a tear afterwards. While we did allow a goal in each of the league games this month that is not what the fans are upset. We missed our trio of 17 years olds since they were called up to the National Teams. Luckily for us we do have a deep bench and at forwards are did score almost two goals a game (only the tie was 1-1).

Vikingur R. is slowing down a bit as they are still top 3, but KR and KA are nipping at everyones heels above them. Valur despite getting crushed finally got their first win of the season and moved out of the relegation zone even if it is short lived.

Three keys to the month:

Now a new wrinkle is being iron out for Sterling as he has to now watch his team as they are being picked up for National Team call ups and has to adjust according. Still Bjornsson is sitting in top 3 goal scorers for the league without playing a single game this month as he is now third.

View attachment 109404View attachment 109403

I am not sure if it counting the Svannson sale, it didn't go through until a day or two later, but I think it is cause we made it to the Semi-Finals of the Champs League. Still either way we are never going to be threaten to be in the red now. Heck in 21 years from now when we can build our next stadium we should have enough money to build it without taking out any loans.

View attachment 109402View attachment 109401View attachment 109400

Here is the transfer. There was three teams super interested in him: Barca, Real Madrid, and ManU. Sterling was sure he wasn't going to sell it to the team that knocked him out (there offer was at 28), but he had his choice between two and choose Real Madrid (pic 1). Along with a player sold earlier it is a new record for transfer income (pic 2). Although Svannson alone was enough (pic 3) and to be the new record paid to an Icelandic club which will probably stand for some time now.

All-Time Borgunarbikar Quarter Final: 3-0-2 (2 games went to a shootout)
All-Time Champions League Second Qualifying Phase: 9-1-0
All-Time Champions League Third Qualifying Phase: 4-0-1

With the second game against IBV being the Quarter Final they would play us a little tighter, even though we would use our bench players to rest up for the league. They somehow scored twice against our starters, but in the cup match they failed to score.

Again the lack of Champs league games, since we are in the group stage already, we would cruse in the league as we went undefeated. Still without our trio of players for half of the month we now have a 11 point lead over KR. It looks like there is a three team race for relegation. KR on the other hand decided to play this season as they are currently in second place (usually like in tenth at this time). Looks like the professional teams are doing well since they claim three of the top four spots in the league.

Three keys to the month:

View attachment 109285View attachment 109284

400 games (or well 401 in pic 2) shows that we are actually getting better since we gained a 1% winning percentage from the last 100 games. Still 19 total cups is impressive even if I play in Iceland. Still impressive that coach Sterling hasn't bought anyone yet for a fee, and stopped paying for a couple of years now. Yet our total for players sold keep going up and we did get a nice fee.

View attachment 109283

One of our older guys on the team was sold to KA and for lower than his asking price. Why you might ask? Coach Sterling feels that it is good to keep the league growing and while it did go to KA the rich just get richer as the professional teams just keep stockpiling. While we don't need the money but still wasn't getting any playing time for our team.

Bjornsson would come back and play in two games and would regain the top spot with Christensen (KR) for the league goal scorer. Also nice to see we own the top shutouts with Baldvinsson with 5 after been thrown into the fire.

Question for my readers. I know I have taken some time (over the holidays) where I haven't posted and of late its been hit or miss. Real life has been crazy which made me dive into this game even more over Christmas. I will be out of town probably for a week. So here is the question I have for all of my readers...What should I do when the time comes where I will go out of town.

1. Just don't worry about posting until I get back (currently posting as you can see in 2024 which my save is in 2030)
2. Post what I would normally post (I try to post twice a day, and again I know it's been spotty of late so around 2 seasons before I leave)
3. Just post three (or four) times until I leave. So it basically is a combination of #1 and #2
4. Whatever the most responses of that these two. I assume there would be some creative ones.

All-Time Borgunarbikar Final Record: 3-0-0 (2 games in extra time)
All-Time Champions League Third Qualifying Phase: 5-0-2
All-Time Champions League Playoff: 6-4-2

With 8 games in the month we would go back to using two squads. Our starters would be more about the league games, and Sterling would resort to using his backups in the cup matches. Against Fulkir we would actually be losing before scoring two late second half goals to win the Semi's. Next for the finals against KA we apparently only wanted to start playing when the game went into extra time. Still the title comes back to us.

View attachment 109235

Record: 3-1-0
All-Time Record: 22-8-5

KA and KR are battling out for second, and leaves us almost with the title. With only 5 games left and a 15 point lead the title is all but ours. It looks as if one of the professional teams (KR or KA) will be in the Europa league next year and the other will try to battle for Champs League promise land. As for fourth through eight is only separated by two points.

Three keys to the month:

Bjornsson would finally find himself a new home. Shockingly he lands on AEK. While he could have been great staying on our team and playing in Champs League now he probably will never see Champs League. While we should of sold him for 15 million we lost him, and he is now lost in a lower league than even ours. I guess they did get paid him a lot more.

View attachment 109233

I know this is for September, but honestly this was the only other news worthy to talk about. We all know we are one of the weakest teams in the tournament. However, how is it after we sell off our wonderkid, and lose our proven goalie on a free how is it that we move up from 100-1 odds last year to 80-1 this year. I know some of my players are young and we add depth each year, but is it the depth that is making us rise?

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP STAGE

View attachment 109232

How is Chelsea a two seed and Benfica is a one seed? Honestly they should be switch, but it might help us out in actually advancing past the group stage. Should easily dispatch FC Steaua in both legs, and should at least get a win over Benfica at home. Could push them if we have no injuries from NT callups to beat them at their place at the very least tie on the road. Chelsea should be tough on both legs. However, we are going to be using our trio of youth players and this is the first year they need to come up big in all. On a great day we should get around 10 points (3 wins a tie), but realistically with the youth it might just be two wins and a tie. Rebuilding might be now for the Champs League.

Been enjoying this story mate, interested to see how long it takes until the league is a dominant force in Europe.

In regards to your holiday: I'd prefer option 2, however just post as much as you want!

Seed system in champions league switched last year or so. The 7 champions of the best 7 competitions are seeded in pot 1 together with the champions league winner if last season. From then on it is based in the coefficients of the teams;)

September 2024 to End of Year

View attachment 109160

Month Record: 7-0-1
September All-Time Record: 32-9-11
Champions League Group Stage: 2-2-8

The only non league game we play this month is the start of Champs league. Again it was against the number one seed at their place. So again we lose on the road as Chelsea beat us 0-2. Although we probably could of won since we had 3 shoots off the woodwork and wide open in front of goal. Just at the last second they would clear it out.

View attachment 109159

Record: 7-0-0

So the results are in and KA beats out KR for second. Maybe KR will never challenge Sterling ever, but we did win the league by 22 points, which is the most its ever been. Fram would lose their safety net and would would get relegated with Valur. It looks as if our affiliation with Grotta is about over since they finished second. Looks like we will need a new team to send our youth players too.

Three keys to the month:

View attachment 109158

We can't complain if our wages and transfer budget shot up again for the year. Transfer was mostly cause of the sale of Svannson, but hopefully these wage increase means our youth can still making the money to keep them at least happy with the lack of competition in our league.

View attachment 109157View attachment 109156

Youth and our depth showed how good wereally are as we set records for most wins with 19 (pic 2) and for points with 59 (pic 1).

View attachment 109155

The scoring record for most goals in a season is now set with an amazing 65. While that is very good you would think we would beat our previously own record of 62. Sadly we wouldn't hold that mark as it was to IA. Shocking we haven't beaten that mark until now.

October Monthly Group Stage Record: 2-0-0 / October Group Stage All-Time Record: 5-3-4
November Monthly Group Stage Record: 0-0-2 / November Group Stage All-Time Record: 3-4-9
December Monthly Group Stage Record: 1-0-0 / December Group Stage All-Time Record: 3-4-1

View attachment 109154

We would end up with good results as we would secure second with 9 points (three wins). Two of our losses wouldn't be pretty. Lost to Chelsea 0-5 at home and to Benfica 1-4 on the road. We would lose both of our strikers to injuries for those games, and to Chelsea we would lose our starting left and center back to 3 yellow cards. Apparently our bench isn't that great anymore, but granted they were in no way match fitness. We would get all our starters back in December and you we cruised to a 5-1 victory over Steaua.

2024 Season Recap and Awards

SEASON RECAP:

View attachment 108973

Again we are the cream of the crop which shouldn't be surprising anyone in our league or especially the world that we wouldn't win this title. However, one big shocker was that we wouldn't have the Golden Boot winner on our team this year as we that went to a striker on KR. Everyone else really performed to what they were expected too. It is werid that KR didn't finish terrible, or that an relegation team didn't finish third in the league. Still it looks like the days of big upsets are over as all three professional teams finished 1 through 3. Guess the fighting will not be for second anymore, but for fourth place. We will let KR and KA fight it out for second since they can't really threaten us yet.

View attachment 108972

KR is now the only three star rep team in our league, hey we are sitting at three-and-a-half stars. KA and eleven other teams are now a two-and-a-half star reps. With hardly any money, professional status, or a chance of winning the league it is impressive to see some of the lower teams still growing in rep.

View attachment 108971

Finally the day is here! Sterling Stadium is now build. We did have a nice little fort at our old stadium as we haven't lost at our place in the league for a long time. Still the board decided to now allow the stadium to be open up for Champs League so we played that at our regular venue for the past few years. The ability to expand the stadium to 26K is amazing (I assumed it would be 18, maybe 20K max), but I am sure we can build that and sell most of those tickets before our twenty years is up.

View attachment 108970

35K is the new marker for the year (last year was 32K increase) in TV rights. We now sit at 242K now for the upcoming season. It's a lot better than when Sterling first became head coach of Stjarnan.

View attachment 108969

So we got 38.5M on the sale of 3 players (most came from one). Which is sad to see Svannson go to Real Madrid. It might be the first time for Sterling to actually buy someone back who has previously played on our team. That is if we get the option of him wanting to come home. We are starting to loan more people out to our top division, and with most of our youth being cancelled now since Grotta is in our division, it looks as from now on only loaning and the crazy price selling of a youngster will be the names we will see on this list from now on.

View attachment 108968

We gew to 1.1M out of the 5.75M for total league sponsorship's. While we are growing, the rep is growning, not so much in sponsorship's. We aren't going to do anything top 10 wise in the world if one of a few things doesn't happen. This is one of them.

View attachment 108967

Everything went up for the year except for Broadcast Revenues. We didn't get the most from Champs League (down 510K from last year), but everything else is up so again we came out way ahead. Still our finances are in the best shape so Sterling isn't really worried about one statistic dropping.

View attachment 108966

Not too shocking we would get another affiliate. What is shocking is that it isn't for a lower team division in our league. It looks like Sterling is trying to finally brand Iceland out. Maybe giving the league the little nudge it needs too be pushed into the right direction.

View attachment 108965

Our goals is to reach the group stage of Champs League (that's an understatement), but the more important showcase is that our transfer budget is now 89M and our payroll Budget is 1.1M. Sterling has said that he is looking to hand out more contracts each year if the players want to renegotiate. Right now though most of the high profile players don't want too. Which is not the best of news to report on.

Team and Player Awards:

View attachment 108964

We would finish the season unbeaten.

View attachment 108963

48 league games unbeaten in a new record. I guess the only record now to go from here is the perfect season?

View attachment 108962

For the League our average attendance at our old stadium did an very impressive amount of 4,908. Which was just 92 people away from selling out each match.

View attachment 108961

New attendance record was again broken for the average attendance to now 6,446. Luckily we don't have to play in two more stadiums anymore, and Sterling Stadium is now the focal point where we can get a lot of people to come out the first year.

View attachment 108959

New average record broken by now the new face striker who has been dominating everything for our team. While we did get it in 25 games, we need less call ups, and more league time, and we will soon be the new holder for most goals in the league. It is bound to happen for how amazing he is.

View attachment 108958

We might not have the Golden Boot player on our team, but we sure as well going to claim the Player of the Year award. Is it shocking that all three professional teams have a player up for this award?

View attachment 108957

So we know we didn't win this award but for Bjornsson only playing in like half the league games he did end up with 17 goals which was good enough for one below the leader.

View attachment 108956

For someone who plays out of position for our team it is great he won Icelandic Young Player of the Year.

View attachment 108955

Arnarsson would show off his skill with bending a shot around a sliding defender and a standing defender to score a goal from 27 yards out.

View attachment 108954

Coach Sterling wins the Coach of the Year award again. Did not break the 1,000 point mark this year, but was close enough. KA coach is second and should be since they finished second in the league.

View attachment 108953

For using two squads I am surprised we got even three of these players in there. Really surprised that Bjornsson didn't make it, but Kolviosson did. I guess there is a cap number you have to hit to be eligible for since Bjornsson and his 17 goals didn't make it.

View attachment 108952

Finally some anger out of Sterling as he found out his team was runner up this year for Icelandic Fair Play Team of the Year. He takes pride and second...to KR! They are the dirtiest players in the league (they did injure three of our guys in one game!)

2025 Roster

View attachment 108881View attachment 108880

We would finally give Knutsson (pic 2) his wish and would sell him off to Molde for basically nothing. Hey he was a great backup, but he wasn't getting the regular playing time he wanted so Sterling granted his wish to be sold. Vikingur O. decided to take one of our midfielders (pic 1) on the under 19 squad, who is 24 years old, and good for them. Again he wasn't our style of player at midfielder so hopefully we goes on and has a wonderful career somewhere else in our league.

With that the new starting lineup forthe 2024 season:
View attachment 108879
Was our backup starting last year, and in turned became our starter and played mostly every game for us last year in the league. He does have 19 caps and only allowed 9 goals (for whatever reason it says – for conceded) and is only 18 years old. Second year starting.
View attachment 108878
A French prospect coming in at the end of last year. He got to play in 7 games for us, and looks to be the key going forward as he is already the starter and up rooted Aegisson spot on this team. Only 16 years old we might have our bumps in the road, but is currently a two-and-a-half start in current ability. First year starting.
View attachment 108877
An 18 year old who has 22 caps to his name, and is our best center back we have on the team. Will be huge for us this year again, but we need to see some improvement from him, or he will be like everyone else on the team. Just average. Second year starting.
View attachment 108876
24 year old who is the new comer for this team for the triple digit mark. Has 107 caps now and again is promoted back into the starting role since losing his starting spot two years ago. Fifth year starting in seven years.
View attachment 108875
Solid and reliable as they come as this 23 year old has 60 caps to his name. Fifth year starter.
View attachment 108874
A 22 year old with 75 caps. Losing ability, but still our best player currently ability wise and has been a lock at this position since arriving at our club. Sixth year starting.
View attachment 108873
A 21 year old who has 38 caps to his name and is battle harden and tested. One of the few people on our team who's personally is of low determination, but still is the best midfielder on our squad. Fourth year starting.
View attachment 108872
A 17 year old who got called up last year and appeared in 5 games. Will he be the future of our midfield or will it report back to the previous holder? First year starting.
View attachment 108871
Last year Nunes got the starting nod, but injuries in the pre-season and a hot start got Halldorsson to stay in the lineup despite playing out of position. Still he is Icelandic and is only 18 years old with 25 caps. More of an overall player instead of sheer attacking like Nunes is. Second year starting.
View attachment 108870
Best player on the team and the next player to hit “wonderkid status”. Look for him to be sold in a few years. He is only 18 and has 27 caps with 30 goals. If it wasn't for Bjornsson he could be the one to break every scoring record for the team. Second year starting.
View attachment 108869
Coming into this system he was actually fourth striker on the team. Who would believed that. He has 30 caps and 28 goals (little less than Armarsson), but he is our leading scorer since being moved into the starter spot. Certainly should carry on this year. Second year starting.

RESERVES
View attachment 108868
After being a starter for the past five seasons he now finds himself on the bench. Still he is a proven asset and won't be sold as he has 123 caps for our team despite being 29 years old.
View attachment 108867
After starting one year he has been relegated to the bench for the second straight year. He still will play in a lot of games as this 20 year old has 48 caps for the team.
View attachment 108866
After being called up to be a starter for the past four years this 23 year old is now being a bench player for the new up and coming player. Does has 71 caps to his name.
View attachment 108865
Has been a two year starter for us. Although the past three years he has been coming off the bench. This 24 year old is still very good as he is our first striker called in, and gets plently of time still. Is the closest to breaking the most goals scored in league play for a Stjarnan player. Has 78 caps and 58 goals.
View attachment 108864
A two year starter previously has 48 caps and 38 goals. His progress has been halted as he lost his starting job two years ago and for the past two years has had 5 injuries and missed half seasons both years. If he is healthy he is good, it's just sad that he looks old and frail now for a 21 year old.
View attachment 108863
Once looked to be the future after Bjornsson left. An injury that keep him out for several months and before the spat between Bjornsson and Sterling, he got the nod to start only to be injured again to lose it. Looks to now be a backup as he has 11 caps. After coming back from his injury last year did get loaned out to Grotta to help them get promoted. Funny how our backup to goalie is another 18 year old.
View attachment 108862
Our only true AMC on the team and very good. Injuries cost him the starting role this year which he held the year prior. Will still see a lot of time for this 18 year old Portuguese player. Plus starting and bench only means who gets to play in Champs league, and if we do struggle without a true AMC he will be called back in without hesitation.
View attachment 108861
A 17 year old who was called up last year late to see what he can do. Will he have a future at this position? Luckily with running a two team squad he will get a lot of playing time to see how he handles it.
View attachment 108860
Some people thought he would be a starter this year. In his short time he already has two injuries so for now this 16 year old with 7 caps is now just relegated to the bench and hopefully doesn't continue to be injury prone.

BENCH
View attachment 108857
Still number three on the depth chart for this 20 year old. He does have 2 caps, but is mostly known for going out on loan to Grotta and getting them promoted. Sterling likes to keep two goalkeepers on his senior squad so he might go out on loan again this year.
View attachment 108856
The old man is still on our team (only 28 years old) and is now out on contract. Still he stays on our team and while isn't a second choice now, if we do need a sub in the worst way we know he can contribute still.
View attachment 108855
A 24 year old with experience as a starter (3 years) but that hasn't been in the past 4 years though. Still has 73 caps (29 caps last 4 years) so he still is being use. Might see that drop since he is now third on the depth chart for his position.
View attachment 108854
Similar to Nokkvason. Started for 2 years, but has been a bench player the previous five seasons. He is now 24 years old with 65 caps.
View attachment 108853
Another Bjornsson, and he is not starting!! Crazy talk I know but this 16 year old is just that. A prospect and is the fifth midfielder on our team. He does have promise, but might not be better than the rest of the squad. Still he got the call up just in case of injuries.

View attachment 108852

KA again is in our group. The other two teams (Breioablik and Prottur R.) will not give us much trouble. Then again KA shouldn't give us much trouble as well. Lets just hope the KA game doesn't come where we need to use our bench players cause of Champs League.

View attachment 108851

I don't think it is really being luckily not for us to make the Group Stage. We have a very potent attack, and a decent backline now. Sure it's not Bjornsson or Svannson back there, but we do have capable players and Baldvinsson should be up to his level if not at the beginning of the year to the end of the year of where Bjornsson was.

POSITION BREAKDOWN:

Goalkeepers:
Starter: P. Baldvisson
Backups: A. Geirsson, T. Hlavaty
Key Losses: Baldar Bjornsson (free to AEK)

Baldvisson got most of the work last year. Still with three goal keepers on the team under the age of 21, our team is still very good to make up for lack of time. Still Baldvisson will get most of the play time which should speed up his progress.

Backline:
Starter: R. Martin (DR) , P. Gunnarsson(CB), J. Sigurdsson (CB), G. Geirsson (DL)
Backups: H. Aegisson (DR), N. Nokkvason(DR), A. Gunnarsson (DR), B. Karlsson (CB), P. Helgason (DL)
Key Losses: Brynjar Asgeir Svannon (sold to Real Madrid)

Aegisson is getting up in age so we decided to go with youth to start the year, and have another youth person for our third position. Center backs we go back down to three, but can still use old faithful Gudmundsson in a pinch. Still Geirsson and Helgason trade off on the left side so we are fine there as well. Not the best squad for Champs League (might be a year or two away from being a dominate back line) but still very solid.

Defensive Midfielder:
Starter: Valgeirsson
Bench: Hallfreosson
Key Losses:

Not so much our weakest spot on our roster. Hallfreosson will be the future, if he can stay healthy, and Valgeirsson is our now. That is if he can stay in match fitness with our crazy schedule. It might not go the whole season for Valgeirsson being the starter, but either way this is two solid players we have that can trade off without missing a beat for the whole year.

Midfielders:
Starters: O. Guojonsson, V. Jakobsson
Bench: O. Jakobsson, G. Bjornsson
Key Losses: Kari Petursson (sold to KA), Porhallur Kari Knutsson (sold to Molde)

We are breaking up the Jokobsson twins in the midfield. Still after selling off two players, we are able to run with four midfielders for our team. Both are fresh, and while one is starting, the other looks like he is more of a project. Still being a project on our team means the players are ready to play against any team in our league. As for Champs League will only see time until the group stage and then will be lost in the reserves.

Attacking Midfielder:
Starting: M. Halldorsson
Bench: M. Nunes
Key Losses:

Starter is not a true AMC, but either way both are very good and very young. If one goes down in Champs League we won't miss a beat which is very good news. The only problem is that Nunes is already making noise of leaving and the highest bid is for 10 million for him already. Good news is that both are locked up for a couple more years so we should be fine.

Strikers:
Starters: O. Arnarsson, M. Bjornsson
Bench: H. Kolvidsson, R. Baldvinsson
Key Losses:

Arnarsson and Bjornsson are amazing. True goalscorers and when they are in the lineup the goals can pile up quickly. Kolvidsson and Baldvinsson have started before and know how to play as well. Coach Sterling wants more playing time for the starters in the league, so it looks as if the bench will be used only in “the starter needs a rest” which isn't too bad. Only bad news is that the bench won't be match fit for most of the time then. Still they are heads above half of the defenses we will face in the league so it shouldn't be that bad.

Our bench players would see more time this year due to the matchups we had in the Champs league. Still our bench looks to be awfully good as we cruised through the group stage and then playoffs. Again, like a couple years back only one team wouldmanage to find a goal against us. It didn't happen in the finals though as this one would be the last game of the group stage which they would be the one to score first.

Still we cruised thorugh as we beat KA twice (once in group stage and in quarter finals) by the score of 2-0. It would be the first time ever for Sterling that his team scored at least two goals each match. Could this be the year we go perfect in the league?

Only thing we would grab this year is highest average. Still with all the goals we would score you would think we might have the top goal scorer or assister. We didn't, but Sterling really doesn't care as long as we would win it and this would be the tenth year coach Sterling has been in control of this team and would be the tenth time he has won this tournament.

Last Years stats:
Went 10-0-0
Outscored Opponents 34-4
Had 6 clean sheets
Leading Goalscorer: Hrafnkell Ulfur Kolvidsson 8 goals in 7 games
Leading Assister: Runar Baldvinsson 5 assists in 7 games

This Years stats:

Had 9 clean sheets
Leading Goalscorer: Magnus Thor Bjornsson 6 goals in 4 games
Leading Assister: Rene Martin 3 assists in 4 games (Goumundur Geirsson 3 assists in 5 games, Heioar Aegisson 3 assists in 6 games)

Total Years under Coach Sterling (11 years):
Record: 95-3-2
Outscored opponents: 197-31

4 Semi's went into extra (one decided by a shootout)

CHAMPS LEAGUE

Didn't go as far as last year, which is amazing for us, since we lost two great starters last year. Still knockout stage was the easier match up we have had since entering this round:

View attachment 108840

A 4-2 win at home in our new stadium would see everyone happy after the first leg. The goals would come plentiful for us despite us being up 3-0 in the game. Still it was the first time the fans got to enter Sterling stadium and they enjoyed the show the team put on. As for the second leg coach Sterling would change his tactics and would run a counter for the first time. It didn't look good as within the first minute they would score. Still two goals for us within two minutes in the second half (77 and 78 minute) would be all we needed to move onto the quarter final.

View attachment 108839

Again the first leg would be played at our place. It would be a well defensive front as both teams only had 3 shots each in the first half of a 0-0 game. The second half would come and they would out shoot us, but we were the only ones who would find the back of the net. After only the second game in the new stadium the fans have already came up with a new nickname for Sterling Stadium. Last stadium it was “the fort” and now it is upgraded to “the fortress”. While it is early, only 2 games played, we are undefeated against Champions League teams.

NEWS, RECORDS, and PREVIEW LEAGUE PLAY

View attachment 108838

After ten years lets look at some records for Stjarnan under Coach Sterling.

View attachment 108837

We decided to change up our captains to people who actually play, and hopefully making Nunes a vice captain will want him to stay on our team. Highly unlikely, but we can hope right?

View attachment 108836

We almost sold 3,000 season tickets. That is a little more than half of our old stadium. While it is impressive (since no one else has a stadium over 2,000) we will need a big turnout this year if we want to upgrade our stadium. Still with being the biggest stadium in the league it might be a couple of years for the request to actually work.

View attachment 108835

Almost 13K for a match is amazing. Will this continue when we start league play though?

View attachment 108834

With that new record above means that this record had to show. Still 200K is amazing and would likely cover almost 2 weeks of our payroll (we did decide to lock up some more people with higher paying contracts).

View attachment 108833

This will only be news once we actually lose a game. Now it is just being an every day thing that we win all our games.

View attachment 108832

We have 2 people. Thanks Real Madrid for taking Svannson from us. If you plan on not using him can we have him back on loan?

View attachment 108831

So much for making him vice captain. While most fans were upset that Sterling accepted his request it doesn't mean he will actually be selling him off to the first bidder.

View attachment 108830

So much for the record being broke up a couple weeks earlier. The new record is here. This time it is over 13,000 people came out to see us win at the fortress.

View attachment 108829

19 people are now called up to the NT from our team. Think if we had Svansson and Bjornsson still? Still shocked to see Breioablik is second though when you have KR (only 4)and KA (0) are the other professional teams in our league. I know KA has some money. Use that on improve training and youth facilities guys!

View attachment 108828

Well shocking to see the only title contenders to be us, KR, and KA. Breioablik and FH apparently have less than 100-1 odds so I guess they might have a chance but in all reality that is like saying Stjarnan has a chance of finishing second. Grotta is up, but can they stay up without our players?

View attachment 108827

Remember how I said we added some wages, well one went to our goalie for another year after our promise of winning a cup (Deildabikar title) was good enough for him. Only if we could of gotten Nunes the same promise.

Month Record: 5-0-0
All-Time Record: 48-3-4
All-Time Frabaer Bikar Record: 9-0-0 (3 times ending in a shootout)
All-Time Borgunarbikar Third Round Record: 7-0-3 (3 times in extra, with 3 ending in a shootout)

We would open up the year with games against the top two other teams in the league. With KA it was for the Frabaer Bikar. Sterling is now using this as more practice time with his second squad to allow his starters to be ready for league (and against KR). With KA scoring first it wouldn't matter as this game looked to be in controlled by us as we came back with our second team to win. It wasn't our normal 2-0 score, but we did manage to score our two goals like normal.

Record: 3-0-0
All-Time Record: 31-2-0
Grotta without the help from us would welcome them to the show as we cruised to a 4-0 victory. Even against them supposedly the team that should challenge us for the title was no match as we open the league with a 3-0 victory at KR. We would keep the shut outs continuing with the last game against Breioablik. Prottur R. is still somewhat staying up, but they haven't faced us yet, and Grotta despite it only being the first month does have a win. Most wasn't projecting a win until second half of the year. Still with the loss to us KR is actually playing now as they sit currently in fourth place.

Three keys to the month:

View attachment 108770

We already have Nunes mad at us, we might as well add our other AMC to the list that thinks our team and league is too weak for him and wants out now. As before him, and will continue after, Sterling will accept the request and will listen to any and all offers. It's just needs to be an fantastic price if Sterling will let him leave.

View attachment 108769

We have won the Frabaer Bikar nine straight times with Sterling taking over. With one win prior to him being here, we now are the most decorated team with 10 titles. The question now becomes which will we lose first: Deildabikar or Frabaer Bikar?

View attachment 108768

Almost beat the league record in attendance by double. While 11,417 is a great attendance number that means we still have more seats to sell before the board will allow us to expand. We can't leave 2K seats unable to sell. Still the new stadium and size is amazing for our club so we should be able to climb to newer heights now.

Month Record: 7-0-0
All-Time Record: 55-7-1
All-Time Borgunarbikar Fourth Round Record: 6-0-1

Seven up and seven wins. We would allow only one goal for the month, so there goes the season without giving up a goal. Although I am surprised we have this many shut outs for the league (8 so far). Again the Fourth Round we play against a lower division team which was good since the reserves haven't been switching each league game like before.

View attachment 108727

Record: 6-0-0
All-Time Record: 47-7-0

Six straight wins would vault us into first by 9 points, and basically sealed the league already for us. KA and KR are tied for second, so apparently the chance to make the Group Stage has inspired KR to play for the whole year. Grotta doesn't seem like they will be relegated this year as they sit in seventh with 12 points. They have a 6 point cushion from the cut off line. While we have a crazy 25 goal difference in the league (KA, KR,and Prottur R. have all positives), the rest of the league is negative with Vikingur R. and IBV sitting with -10. I will let you guess what places they hold in the league.

Three keys to the month:

View attachment 108726

Currently have 6 players on the senior NT, and that might change before the year is out. Either we would gain some more to that list, unless Sterling finds a price for some of these young guys to really secure our finances.

View attachment 108725

Crazy thing about this is that Bjornsson was only one away from claiming this award. Could we really see someone next year, or soon, from our team that would win this award. That is just crazy to think about, we really need to keep him, but this is very exciting. This just shows that despite giving up goals now we can actually score them as well.

View attachment 108724

54 unbeaten streak in the league. Well done team...well done.

Month Record: 4-2-0
All-Time Record: 48-9-8
All-Time Borgunarbikar Quarter Final: 4-0-2 (2 games went to a shootout)
All-Time Borgunarbikar Semi Final Record: 4-0-0 (1 game in extra time)
All-Time Champions League Second Qualifying Phase: 9-1-0
All-Time Champions League Third Qualifying Phase: 4-0-1

We would cruise in the Borgunarbikar Quarter and Semi's this year with two shut outs. We would win 4-0 against Grotta with our starters, and then would face them 4 days later with our second squad that would win 3-0.

View attachment 108575

Record: 2-2-0
All-Time Record: 30-8-5
Two ties on back-to-back road games against KA and KR would be the two ties this month. We failed to only score one goal in those matches, but for the other two games we went on to score 7 goals. Maybe KR and KA are better than we think.

Still with two ties we sit in first with a comfortable 7 point lead. KA and KR are keeping the fight going for second, but the real face is which two teams will be relegated. IBV and Vikingur R. have six points, but will one be able to jump over Keflavik (8 points) to escape relegation?

Three keys to the month:

View attachment 108574View attachment 108573

Chelsea is the richest team (pic 2). Still with the sale of Svannson we jumped from 64 to 33 (pic 1).While that is amazing Sterling would like to drop out of this if it meant we could of kept Svannson. Still he hasn't been missed much as our team as a whole keeps getting better. Maybe not for his spot, but 10 other spots are improving. With the top 5 richest teams in the world being from England is also kind of crazy to think about.

View attachment 108572View attachment 108570

What?!?! Say it ain't so! We actually dropped (pic 1) in the Competition Rankings for top league. While it is just one it is still backwards. Hopefully we can correct the league fast. This is not going well for our players who want to play for a top league. What is even worst is that our GK Bjornsson who left for Greece for free last year is the league that jumped us (pic2). I guess he is the one with the last laugh.

View attachment 108569

With losing a spot in the top leagues of the world means we lost a spot in the Coefficients table.

Month Record: 6-0-0
All-Time Record: 46-12-9
All-Time Borgunarbikar Final Record: 4-0-0 (2 games in extra time)
All-Time Champions League Third Qualifying Phase: 5-0-2
All-Time Champions League Playoff: 6-4-2

Our first real competition in the Borgunarbikar came in the final as we face off against KR. I assume we will be facing off KR or KA for the next couple of years in this cup. This time coach Sterling would want revenge for the tie so he would allow his starters to play and they would not disappoint with a 4-1 victory.

View attachment 108485

Record: 5-0-0
All-Time Record: 27-8-5

Four games remain and with a ten point lead all it will take is one more win. KA finished really strong, or KR had a terrible month since KA has a ten point lead over KR. Grotta with breaking in 18 new people this year seemed to get them all clicking as they will be staying up in the division. IBV found some wins and flipped spots with Keflavik to all but seal Keflavik fate of being relegated.

Three keys to the month:

View attachment 108482View attachment 108481

Some new contracts would be handed out this month. First up was Halldorsson (pic 1) who is now a wonderkid (!) after asking for his transfer to be rescinded. While his was an important signing, Baldvinsson (pic 2) might be the better one even if we do have three goalies on the team who can play. He just been getting all the work for our team.

View attachment 108480

No we are not looking at Board Requests. Nothing really for us to do yet or try than just get affiliate clubs. No this is actually too look at our salaries now for a week. With those two new signings and a couple of other backups and youth players we now are over the 100K a week and up to 136K. We were at the start of the year at 68K a week for salaries.

View attachment 108479View attachment 108478

In one game we would lose CB Gunnarsson (pic 1) for 5-6 weeks. Even worst is striker Bjornsson (pic 2) out for 6-7 weeks. If you look already on the players injured you will see our two backup strikers on that list, although Kolviosson is about to come back.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP STAGE

View attachment 108477

Well we are facing off against the Golden Boot winner from last year (PSG) and will have to face off against Liverpool as well. We do have Zenit as the other team, but with the fortress we should be fine in the group. Still we would need help if we want to advance to the knockout stage, but we have been lucky before, and we are a very solid team this year. Oh by the way it looks as if we aren't the only Iceland team to be in group stages this year. Congrats to KA!
