GROUP H

Italy 1-0 Chile
Tenconi

Line Up: Viviano, Accordino*, Bonucci, Chiellini, Santon, Agosto, Verratti, Balotelli (Tenconi), El Shaarawy (Bertolacci), Giovinco, Paloschi (Destro)

A hard fought win with substitute Tenconi scoring his first goal for Italy to give us the win and an early advantage in this fairly easy group.

Czech. Republic 1-1 Honduras

------------

Honduras 0-3 Italy
Paloschi, Chiellini 2

Line Up: Viviano, Accordino, Bonucci, Chiellini*, Santon, Agosto (Bertolacci), Verratti (Onofri), Balotelli, El Shaarawy, Giovinco (Benatti), Paloschi

Good result and we had a goal disallowed but we are still not firing on all cylinders I feel. Need to step it up in the knockout stage as I will rest players against the Czechs since we are already group winners.

Chile 1-1 Czech.Republic

------------------

Czech. Republic 3-3 Italy
Balotelli 2, Giovinco

Line Up:
Viviano, Santon, Bonucci (Oliveiro), Chiellini, Criscito (Benatti), Onofri, Poli, Balotelli, Bertolacci, Giovinco, Paloschi (Destro)

A strange game. We were 2 down at half time but fought back to go 3-2 up but Vaclav Kadlec scored a late goal to complete his hat-trick to deny us our 100% record.

Honduras 1-3 Chile

Italy v Chile has happened before in a World Cup except it ended like a kickboxing match instead of football

2nd Round

Italy 1-0 Ghana
El Shaarawy

Line Up: Viviano, Accordino, Bonucci*, Chiellini, Santon, Agosto, Verratti (Poli), Balotelli (Tenconi), El Shaarawy, Giovinco, Paloschi (Destro)

Once again we just do enough to get through. We scored late on to book our place in the quarters against the USA.

Ukraine 4-0 England!!!!!!!!!
USA
2-1 Mali
Turkey 1-2 Portugal
Russia 1-4 France
Brazil 6-1 Colombia
Belgium 2-0 Republic of Ireland
Chile 2-1 Holland

England and Holland going out early is a bit of a boost!

What the **** Ukraine beating England 4-0!!! Who's in charge?!?

QUARTER FINALS

USA 0-1 Italy
Destro

Line Up: Viviano, Accordino, Bonucci, Chiellini, Santon (Criscito), Agosto (Poli), Verratti, Balotelli, El Shaarawy, Giovinco*, Paloschi (Destro)

Another poor performance with our winner coming in stoppage time. I must be managing Italy like real life - boring as **** with a great defence! Brazil up next.

Portugal 4-2 Chile
France 1-0 Ukraine
Brazil
2-1 Belgium

I should add that I play a round and then post an update so I am not posting with the knowledge of what has happened in future rounds etc

What the **** Ukraine beating England 4-0!!! Who's in charge?!?

Stuart Pearce but probably not for much longer!

The England squad was

GK - Hart, Butland, Smithies

D - Walker, Clyne, Smalling, Jones, Bertrand, Christou, Shawcross, Chalobah

M - Rodwell, Milner, Henderson, Wilshere, Lallana, Shelvey, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain

F - Rooney, Sturridge, Cotton (regen) and Adam Campbell the young player I used to have

SEMI-FINALS

Brazil 3-2 Italy (aet)
Verratti, Destro

Line Up: Viviano, Accordino, Bonucci, Chiellini, Santon (Criscito), Agosto, Verratti, Tenconi, El Shaarawy (Poli), Balotelli, Destro (Paloschi)

AAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!! Heartbreaking stuff! We went 2-0 up early on and then Chiellini decided to give Brazil a chance and score an og. Pato equalised in the 2nd half and Destro then had a late goal disallowed. Pato scored the winner in extra time and I am gutted.

Before the game Giovinco got injured and his tournament is over.

France 0-2 Portugal

3RD PLACE PLAY-OFF

France 1-2 Italy
Balotelli, Bonaventura

Line Up: Viviano*, Accordino, Bonucci, Chiellini, Criscito, Agosto, Verratti (Benatti), Tenconi (Bonaventura), El Shaarawy (Bertolacci), Balotelli, Destro

A nice way to end our touranement. We took an early lead and from then on we got battered. I thought we were going to hold on but M'baye Niang scored with 5min left however we got a last minute winner thanks to Bonaventura - yay!

FINAL

Portugal 0-3 Brazil

BRAZIL!!!!!!

Went in for both the Argentina and Brazil jobs and Brazil responded first so off I went! Funnily enough Francesco Totti also left the Italian coaching staff. Although taking over Brazil may sound easy I know from past fm experiences 2 poor results leads to unemployment so I better be consistent. Whether I will be here for the 2022 World Cup is another matter as I really want to win the Copa America

Lucas Moura would be the only surprise but after breaking his leg his stats dropped and I have plenty of AMC's anyway so decided to cash in. Hoilett agreed to go ages ago while all the others were not near the first team apart from Ramsey who I let go to give Cleison and Munoz more opportunities.

As expected Gateshead and Carlisle got sent players on loan and a few minor players got sold for tiny fees.

SUMMARY
No real changes - just promoting a few players from the reserves to the first team like Munoz, Cleison and Johnson. Thats it really. Still not sure who my first choice AMC is though.

(sorry for the lack of order lol)

PREMIER LEAGUE MANAGERS

Thought I would give you an update on who is in charge of who

Arsenal - Jose Mourinho
Aston Villa - Sinisa Mihajlovic
Bolton - Safet Susic
Chelsea - Massimiliano Allegri
Everton - Paul Lambert
Ipswich - Gareth Southgate
Leeds - Neil Redfearn
Leicester - Nigel Adkins

Liverpool - Roberto Donadoni
Man City - Roberto Mancini (again)
Man Utd - David Moyes
Reading - Steve Clarke
Southampton - Brian McDermott
Sunderland - Fabio (dont have a clue who he is)

Swansea - Carlos Queiroz
Tottenham - Stale Solbakken
WBA - Mike Phelan
Wigan - Joe Cole

Wolves - Keith Millen

AND ANOTHER THING
Genk cancelled our partnership because they became a rich club and felt it wasnt beneficial so I now have a few players lying in my reserves who dont have work permits and need to be back in Belgium within a month and the board arent letting me ask for a feeder club. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

another good update, any chance of posting a first team screen shot, would be good to see... i think soon your aim should be to win everything unbeaten, you certainly do know how to develop decent teams...

Thnks a lot klippybo, not sure if you noticed that I sent you a PM with details of my romanian regen, I just dont seem to get anywhere near as good end results with them as you...

Yeah I got it - he seems decent although I would never have guessed his PA would be that high!
