Also, just want to ask the Liverpool fans [or anyone interested] if Torres were to remain here for the time being, proved successful alongside Suarez and helped us to a good finish, and he wanted to remain at Anfield, would you accept him back?

Yes, if he worked hard and never asked for a payrise. If he said he wanted to actually stay because he wants to, of course I'd accept him back.

I'm resigned to losing him though.

Yes.. id accept him back now... he's done wonders for LFC and only wants to leave to furthe rhis career.. he is 26 and never won anything with his club and for a player of his quality you can see why he wants to move

Crazy to see some of the reactions to Torres leaving. We would have never been a consistent top 4 club without him. He deserves success, I admit though it was horrible timing.

The fact we are bidding this amount on a player actually gives me hope, we'd have been lucky to see £35m all year previously. Shows we are a fincancially backed club :)

There isn't one other striker in the world they could get for 15-20 million quid that would work well with Suarez?

Raikan, what do you think?

Wouldn't even pay £10m for Carroll myself, don't see how he's worth anywhere near £30m, that's just my opinion though.

Like it says in Alex's sig though, he wanted to help us bring success, and then he bails not long after. Shame.

If i was liverpool id go for Llorente a cheaper version of Carroll big strong Target man and with the spanish influence would settle easily!

If Torres stays...i think he will stay as an unhappy Liverpool player. You can see that he haven't enjoyed this season very much. He has recently been much better...but you can still see that he isn't very happy playing for Liverpool. Even if he would say otherwise. I think it's time for him to move on and Liverpool to cash on him.
Fair enough.

No. Don't want him here longer than tonight now. He has ****** us about big time.

Good riddance.

what do u expect him to do, remain at Liverpool and not win any domestic trophies

no offence mate but a striker of his quality deserves to be at a club which is in the position to challenge for trophies, i feel that by not leaving in the summer, Torres already showed a good bit of loyalty but he cant do anything if the previous owners kept a manager like woy and have hardly made any signings to show that they have top 4 or top 6 ambition this season

I'm sure Stefan Kießling would be available for around that price, it'd be short notice for both him and Leverkusen though.

Raikan, a shortlist please? (A)

Liverpool fans need to realise that whilst Fernando Torres is still at the club, and nothing has been agreed, we still have all the power.
Especially if Newcastle said they'd accept £35M, then when we offer it, it's rejected.

Personally, think Torres will stay at Anfield, and Carroll at St. James'
also, Carroll's injured, he'd never pass a medical?

We're not gonna have success for while though, at least until he's 28/29, he'll have peaked by then. He's being selfishly, rightly so though in my opinion. Not that I want him to go, I am as gutted as the next man.

Agreed mate but I really hate the timing of the Torres situation, I think Carroll would be great (30mil max) but can we please bid for a LB and some wingers? Hazard would be great, even if its buy now and loan 'til next season, or Kagawa (even if injured), Show that financial backing with some smart signings not just panic buys.

understandably ur gutted but atleast ur being realistic about the situation, I am pretty sure any one of us would have done the same if we were in Torres' shoes right now and although I am in no position to speak, I hardly blame him for being selfish, the lad has to think about his own career too

Although seriously now guys do you honestly believe for one second that weve bid 35 ******* million quid for Carroll?
Weve spent weeks negotiating with blackpool over incresing our bid to 7-8 million, and spent 2 weeks to shell out 22 mill on luis suarez. Does it really make sense that in one day wed offer 35 million on Caroll?? of course not

This may just be one huge smokescreen and Comolli is in Europe now thrashing something out as we speak.

Aquilani?
