Neville Turns Down Fulham And Zaragoza Jobs!

Today the world was in shock as both Fulham and Zaragoza sacked their Managers. Fulham sacked Mark Hughes after just 9months in charge! Where as Zaragoza sacked their manager, Javier Aguirre after again just 8 months! Both teams came running to Gary Neville immediately and saw him the perfect idol to replace their managers and lead the team forward! But Gary Neville has confirmed the claims and denied both job opportunities claiming he is happy at Wigan and wouldn't dream of leaving half way through a season!

Been linked with Barca Liverpool Deportive Getafe and Valencia but havent been spoken to by media as i think its their contracts near the end! If i get any moer approaches i will update on them thanks for following guys

Wigan Lose Concentration After Cup Win
After their emphatic Carling Cup win Wigan came back to face Liverpool in the FA Cup Fifth round replay and then Arsenal and Tottenham in the league! Whilst trying to fight for their high finish it mean Wigan would have a fairly straight forward end to the season after these games!

Wigan 0 - 2 Liverpool
Suarez (15) Kuyt (55)
Suarez showed why he's such a key signing as he put his Liverpool side 1 up after just 15minuets! Dirk Kuyt doubled the lead after 55 minutes as Lierpool sailed through this cup round! Wigan weren't even given a look in and now can focus on keeping their League form.

Arsenal 3 - 0 Wigan
Fabregas (16) Chamakh (42) Nasri (57)
Before this game Wenger was singing praises for Neville and his excellent man management, as Neville responded telling Arsene he believes Arsenal can win the league. Arsenal struck first after 16 minutes when Fabregas found the net early on! 3 Minutes before half time Chamakh made it two nil and gave Wigan a massive climb to make up! But they were unable to as Nasri netted 12minutes after half time to give Arsenal and Arsene the win they needed!

Wigan 1 - 1 Tottenham
N'Zogbia (82) - Defoe (6)
N'Zogbia claimed a vital point for Wigan in a late last ditch effort after Tottenham scored early on. Spurs went 1 up within 6minutes as English striker Jermain Defoe netted from close range! However he picked up a thigh strain in the celebration and was substituted! N'Zogbia was the late hero once again as he netted with 8minutes to go to keep Wigan high flying in the top 8! Wigan now sit 7th and can go 6th with their game in hand!

Wigan triumphant In Closely Contested Games!
Next for Wigan was a trip of Sunderland and then a visit to the hawthorns! Wigan would want to take all 6 points from these games to give them a sterdy run for their last 6 games! But were they going to be in luck and with Neymars goal drought slipping to over 11hours now!

Wigan 1 - 0 Sunderland
Rodallega (Pen.32)
Rodallege carried Wigan to another victory as Neymar failed to score yet again! Rodallege netted from the spot after winning a penalty in the 32nd minute! Sunderland who are 17th in the league done well to hold the goals to one as Wigan kept pressing but couldn't find the winner!

West Brom 0 - 1 Wigan
Neymar (41)
After almost 12hours of football Neymar finally broke his goal scoring drought as he killed off a West Brom side. West Brom were sitting rock bottom of the Premier League and 12 points adrift from safety looked doomed with six games to go! So Neymar added to their worries as he headed in from close range after 41 minutes! The assist came from the other inform striker Hugo Rodallega.

Wigan Face Strong Willed Newcastle!
Newcastle were sitting in 12th following their return to the premier league and have already secured a place in the league next season to the delight of their fans! Wigan however were still fighting in the top 7 and were looking for another win to keep their top 5 hopes alive!

Newcastle 2 - 3 Wigan
Gameiro (1) Milevskyi (17) - Rodallega (22, 36) Di Santo (89)
Wigan claimed yet another win today to press the campaign on in their last 5 games! Newcastle went one nil up within the first minute as they looked to press on Wigans form! They were 2-0 up after 17 minutes as Milevskyi scored again against Wigan! Rodallega struck back though as he scored in the 22nd minute and a sublime goal in the 36th! All square going in to the last few minutes until Di Santo scored off the bench in the last minute of the game!He'd given Wigan another vital win!

Vintage Display From Wigan!
Wigan continued their battles and next was overachieving Wolves with Mick McCarthy mastermined his squad to a high flying tenth spot so far, They faced Wigan in what was to be set up as a true classic ending! Wigan wanted three points and Wolves wanted their top 10 finish!


Wigan 2 - 1 Wolves
Rodallega (79) Donovan (90) - Steven - Fletcher (85)
Well this game never really got going until the last 11 minutes which saw three goals! Wigan who dominated the majority of the game found the net when Rodallega scored yet again with 11 minutes to go! Wigan had thought they sealed another win. But with five minutes to go Wolves thought they earnt a point when Fletcher found the roof of the net and across the line! But summer signing Donovan provided the finishing touches in the last minute to keep Wigans hopes of finishing 5th a nudge in the direction! Rodallega now has 22 league goals, the same as Neymar!

Wigan had just four games left and they knew they had already created a second piece of history this season! Having already won the Carling Cup the highest Wigan had ever finished in the Premier League was 10th! But Neville was set to change that!

Stoke 0 - 1 Wigan

Just a single game to see this game through as Wigan capture three points! Rodallega the goal scorer once more as he claims more to his best season so far! He struck the ball to the left hand bottom corner out of the reach of any keeper! That was all to report in the clash!

Donovan (24)
Wigan brushed aside a relegated Blackpool but only with one goal as their keeper put up a performance to be proud of! Donovan was the only man to find the net after just 24minutes when he beat two players on the right and cut inside to finish it off. Wigan could of rued their missed chances today!

West Ham 0 - 1 Wigan
Green (Og.90+1)
Wigan were poor but for the third week in a row they had won just 1-0! But they seemed satisfied as it meant they still had all three points! Hugo Rodallega had a rare penalty saved in the 21st minute which proved to be the best chance of the game! But late on Neymar's long shot rattled the bar and bounced out to hit Robert Green on the back and roll into the net! A harsh goal to sink West Ham but another 3points for the Latics!

Blackburn 3 - 1 Wigan
N'Zonzi (6) Kalinic (29) Diouf (60) - Neymar (47)
Finally a game which involved more goals with Wigan, unfortunately it was against them as their leaky defence kicked back in after three straight clean sheets for Ali Al Habsi! N 'Zonzi was off to a flyer with a goal within 6 minutes! Kalinic doubled Blackburns lead after 29 minutes and thats how it stood till half time! Wigan came out blazing and pulled one back after just 2minutes of the second half as Neymar ended his season with a goal! However their joy was short lived as Diouf scored a third for Blackburn to sink Wigan to a final day defeat!
