Mate, it differs greatly for every player and the required time might vary from few weeks to a year.

These factors greatly affects the required time:

1) The current rating for STC position, if it’s “ineffectual” then it might take a season or more, if it’s “Unconvincing” or “Competent” then it might take few weeks or few months.

2) Versatility attribute.

3) Total Number of positions a player can play at, the more positions a player can play, the harder to learn a new one.

Just for fun I gave the asymmetric 4-3-2-1 a go with Barca :)

I don't have any transfer updates and play on the default database so Neymar is still at Barca

I wanted to make a quick test so didn't bother with any micromanagement stuff and just used Instant Result for all matches

I think the result is OOOOOOKKKKKK :P (H)

WOW! :O I thought that only strikerless tactics was capable of producing crazy results but then I tried the Asymmetric 4-3-2-1 tactic…

Hoffenheim, predicted 7th, first season... I won the league and DFB-Pokal Cup! :)

Hey, this is how TFF rank his tactics



I would rank the tactics in this order:


1st Place : Demolisher ( Strikerless )

2nd Place : Demolisher ( Striker )

3rd Place : Stinger ( Strikerless ) /// Stinger ( Assymetric 4-3-2-1 ) /// Stinger ( Assymetric 4-4-1-1 )

4th Place : Stinger ( Striker ) :: This is the weakest version, its efficiency is about 30% less than any other versions and I suggest using it only if like this formation very much.
 
So 3rd place is in no particular order, they're all just as good?
 
Seriously people don't use results in friendlies as examples. And that's even truer when you play with players like Barcelona's or Madrid's.

Another brilliant tactic by TFF!

I used it with Tottenham (predicted 6th) in my first season and won everything, smashed Arsenal in the Champions League final! :)

Harry Kane was on fire, Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela also had an amazing season
