So I did manage to sign Bernard but only after Gareth Bale turned me down to move to United sadly, only cost £25m so I would have saved £10m. Never mind though I've always wanted to sign Bernard but never got round to it so hopefully he doesn't disappoint. I also signed a brilliant looking CDM in Tachtsidis for a cool £8.25m. I then recruited a RW I've always wanted to try and develop in Alvaro Vadillo.
Leaving was just 2 young lads on loan and Jay Rod left on the last day on loan to Stoke.
Panagiotis Tachtsidis

Literally never noticed this guy before looks like an absolute animal and will battle it out with Schneiderlin for that BWM role. Look pretty awesome though.

The £35m wonderkid is finally mine, really looking forward to seeing just how well he will play for me. Big hopes!!
Alvaro Vadillo

After being SO disappointed with Bruma so far this season I decided to sign Vadillo to add some competition for him, they'll both battle it out with Puncheon for that RW role.

League
Liverpool 1 - 0 Southampton
Disappointing result here as they score from a cheap peno.
Southampton 3 - 2 West Brom
Maupay, Hernandez, Mayuka

Not as tight as it looks but great to see my three strikers scoring a goal each. Mayuka loves a goal from the bench.
Manchester United 2 - 1 Southampton
Clyne
Argh. They went 2-0 up but we were superb after half-time, Vadillo chipped in a lovely ball for the overlapping Clyne to score his first goal but sadly we couldn't grab another.
Southampton 2 - 1 Cardiff
Maupay, Ramirez

Phew, way too tight for my liking against a side we should easily have swept away. Maupay netting again and Ramirez coming off the bench to net the winner with a great solo run.

Capital One Cup
Semi Final 1st Leg
Manchester United 5 - 3 Southampton
Hernandez, Maupay(2)

Wow what a game I really don't know what to say. Shocking performances from both defences but Maupay had a great game!!
Semi Final 2nd Leg
Southampton 1 - 1 Manchester United
United win 6-4 on agg
Hernandez
Bit more tame and at one point I felt we could have maybe grabbed another and held on but they scored nearly straight after Hernandez netted for us. Never mind always next year.

FA Cup
Third Round
Southampton 3 - 0 Burnley
Lallana, Maupay, Hernandez
A nice solid win, I fielded a strong side as I want to do well in the FA Cup this year.
Fourth Round
Huddersfield 1 - 1 Southampton
Maupay
Maupay nets again to save our skins, we were awful here and could have easily lost!! Must do better.

Monthly Review
So not a great month considering we lost twice in the league and got knocked out of the Capital One Cup but we done pretty well getting to the semi's but it would have been nice to of won a trophy this year. The two league games we lost were, on paper, to be expected but they were very tight losses again.
In the FA Cup I was very pleased with the Burnley match, we were very ruthless but in the Huddersfield match we were so poor its unreal. Good at the back but dreadful in the final third.
Bernard has made a good start and will improve I'm sure, Vadillo and Tachtsidis have also done well settling into a new team. None of them are English or speak the language so will take time to settle but all are young and will develop well I'm sure. Tachtsidis is already immense as is Bernard anyway!!
Player of the Month
Neal Maupay
Can't really look past this lad after he banged in 6 goals this month. Having a superb year, better than I could have hoped!!

Still 5th even after those losses. Can't see us being there at the end of the season but look how bad City are doing!! Unheard of on FM really.
