***THE BETTER HALFS TACTIC UPLOAD & DISCUSSION

no but your team can only ever train 3 styles at once meaning that one of the four will always be unfamiliar, you know more than me mate im just asking a question

It will not be unfamiliar as the formation and most of the settings will be the same as in one of the other tactics. With most teams , I rarely use more than 2 or 3 versions anyway. I only use the whole 4 versions when playing with a top team, playing a huge variety of teams, unlike you do if playing with Stoke, Blackburn. Barnett etc .

Best used, one should focus on either the quicker and physical approaches or the possession based ones( depending on the team specific strengths). If having quality players WITH the ball, then go for the possession based. If having quality players OFF the ball ( stamina, pace etc), then go for the Countet and Overload.

The thing is, if using shouts, the situation will be the same anyway.

That depends. Would you like to really put the effort into it and watch the game or do you prefer just plug & play and change approach at half time in needed ?

Most games, especially the important ones I watch everything closely.

Working wonders with my Liverpool team, won 9 out of 10 in the league and won 6 of 6 in the EL. Just played a draw against Tottenham, but they had a 4-0 lead at HT but 4 goals in the last 15min secured a point atleast. Dominating every game.

Which players are you using in the winger and def mid/midfield positions? And are you using attacking formation or any of the other formations?

Hi,TBH, what happened to the tactic you posted late last night ? Sorry if someone has already ask. I have downloaded but not tried it yet.( I cant find it now )

<3 your formation!! One question I would like to ask is I started using Arsenal and possession soccer. So which of the 3 version will you recommend?
Attacking, Cautious and Overload
or
Attacking, Counter and Overload

Skip the Overload version

I've tried this tactic for a couple of games now, and it works ok. 5 matches, 3 won, 2 drawn.

I've got one question though. The wingers? Since they tend to cut inside alot (despite tactic-approach), would it be a good idea to play a rightfooted player on the left, and a leftfooted player on the right?

What´s your thoughts on that TBH?

Either way works. Just use the players in their best position.

Hey, I'm managing Liverpool and against weaker opposition like Southampton and Norwich, I tend to deploy the overload tactic. However, I seems to always only be able to get a 1-0 victory, just scraping past my opponents. Should I switch to the attacking possession tactic instead? Or is it just because my players are wasteful in front of goal?

I'm using Liverpool too. I tend to start out with Cautious Possession as default. If it is a very weak opponent use Attack. If they are moving up to try to break through you, use Counter. Overload should probably only be used for emergencies (when you need a goal desperately) or when you are playing a very weak opponent (a team one or two divisions below you).

TBH,

I used your 4-5-1 in Fm12, and i've tried your attacking 4-5-1 now, but there are things that aren't working for me.

- Im not getting many balls on the striker
- The space between lines it's very big, specially between mids and defense
- Mids are not aggressive on the ball (I have toure and mountinho and nasri)

Tactic is 100%, but playing against Chelsea i had 40 % of the ball possession, no CCCs and lost 3-0
Line up: Hart; Maicon, Lescott, Kompany, Bale; Toure, Mountinho, Nasri; Balotelli, Silva, Tevez.

Help!

Alright thanks a lot mate. I'll try and get back to you.

This is my second season with this tactic and team get used to play with this tactic. There is no particular or consistent problem so far. I just finished the first half of the current season and my team is flying like a charm.

I generally use caution version but when i have possession difference in my advantage i changed to attack to go more offensive, if possession advantage goes to my opponent i changed to counter. That is my only move and it worked well so far.

Alright mate, I beat Southhampton 3-0 (which I guess is an okay result) using the counter tactic throughout the entire match. However, once again, I struggled in the next match against Servette in the Europa League. And since I reckoned Servette is around the same opposition level of Southhampton, I decided to use the counter tactic again, but it didn't work this time.

Kinda frustrated right now cause although this is clearly a good tactic, I just can't get it to work sometimes. Can you help me on which tactics I should deploy against which level of opposition?

Morale is important. If you start losing then it will become a cycle. The trick is to start out right and win the games you need to win so that with harder opponents, you are less likely to lose.

In my opinion, default tactic should be Cautious Possession always.

Only use Counter tactic when your opponent has more possession than you or when you get a message from your assistant saying that the opposite is moving up/stretch your defensive.

Attack should only be used when you have more possession but can't break through an opponent's defense.

Overload shouldn't be used unless you are desperate for that last goal against a weaker opponent.

For training I used Team Cohession with High intensity at the beginning. Match training I use def. set pieces and with most opponents, I use att. movement training before the match against everyone that is my level or lower or anyone that I am playing at home. For Manchester United, City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham on away, train def. positioning to play it safe.

What is your starting 11 and subs? With Liverpool you don't really have to move the wingbacks to fullbacks. Glen Johnson and Jose Enrique can fill those roles fine.
