TBH,
As always, i've tried this in my "trial tactic savegame", putting the tactic 100 % with FMRTE to test it properly and not to have to wait for hlaf a season to see it fluid.
Game: League Cup, away against Man Utd. Me? Man City
Used the counter version.
Lost 1-0 - shooting as 14-2.
What i saw wrong, IMO?
The midfielders where completely lost the entire game and the AMC didn't linked the game with the FCs, who didn't touch the ball in proper conditions. As a result, the team was always running from one side to the other, leaving the 3 defenders alone against Fabio, Nani Kagawa, RVP and Rooney and the LFB, because they where all keeping an eye on the 2 MCs which i may say didn't had a change, ofc.
The MR and the ML where in a constant 2 to 1 position and when the left or right CB as going to cover, he was passed by easily, leaving the space behind him for them to enter the box or to cover to the 2 FCs alone with one CB.
Also, when recovering the ball in my own box, i could not get it fast and safe into the opposition midfield, lost the ball near the box and there we go again!
On the other hand, playing with 10 against West Ham, away and winning 1-2, i've dropped 1 FC and i could easy beat them in counter and finish the game 1-3. Goal from the MR with a cross from the ML.
Again, using MrHoughs 3-5-2, the team is more capable in defending the 1-2s from the wings and getting the ball higher in the field, and i think you should check it. If you could get the team to be more aggressive in the midfield line to be more easy to get to the other team box, it would be a great addiction to this tactic.
My 2 cents ofc, im no near your capacity in doing tactics and i have to thank you for doing this.
