***THE BETTER HALFS TACTIC UPLOAD & DISCUSSION

I am finding that Wilshere is a solid AMC in this tactic due to his high creativity, solid PPMs for the role and high work rate and teamwork. Tomas Rosicky is a cheaper option but is also older.

Hi again,

I started a new save on FM Classic as I dont have much time these days and prefer the faster pace. I am thinking of using this tactic with my Gateshead (BSP) team. I was previously managing Weston Super Mare but couldnt get promotion. I was trying various other tactics on this board, but have had mixed results.

I previously used this tactic with my Blue Square South team, but the fans were complaining that it was boring, and after 16 games i had scored 14 and conceded 11 (great defence!). Not sure if its because my AMC isnt linking up with the Striker, but obviously i wasn't having many shots on goal.

I'm thinking of using this tactic again because it is a proven tactic for any team, but just have some general questions. My position at Gateshead is very insecure, so I have no time for more mistakes haha. Morale in my team is very poor to abysmal, on FMC i cannot talk to players. Just looking for some general tips I guess, as I am really sick of having a 7-8 game slump every season that ends up costing me promotion. Thanks a lot for the tactic by the way, my friend has taken Dover from Blue Square South to Championship!

so what about some known examples for AML and AMC(or some key attributes and preffered moves)? i use robinho as AML and Bojan as AMC.

AML/AMR - Here you can use any player. If using an inside forward that likes to cut inside, just make sure that he cuts inside with the correct foot ( right on left, left on right) and that he has the needed stats for that move. If using a Winger that likes to huge the touchline, the makes sure he is right on right, left on left and that he has the correct stats to pull this off. etc etc. In short, just use the player that is good at what he is doing

AMC - Here you use a player that is attacking. Use one with attacking PPMs and that has the stats of a AMC on attack or an attacking PLM, or an inside FC. You don't use a supporting player here.

As for exact players, well there must be 1000 of them that fit these descriptions.

Robinho can play the AML role well
Bojan can play both roles really well

so i dont need advanced playmaker support on AML? i just can use fast dribblers with good crossing\finishing?

No. Have a look in the opening post and read about the roles in the screenshot of the formation. Here, you will see that he is a wingforward. The stats posted are basiclly the "normal stats" he needs and after this, you need to add stats that matches his ppms. ( like crossing for a winger, passing and dribbling for an inside FC)

ou can use both inside Forwards and wingers out wide

AMC, its important to have someone that is clever enough

So finished 1st season with Arsenal and managed to win the premiership. Finalist in the Capital One cup, 4th round loss in FA cup and Semi-finalist in Champs League going out to Messi.

Highlights of the season:

Giroud scoring 45 in 53 (37 in 37 for prem)
Szczesny winning golden glove with 23 clean sheets in 38 games
Best defence in league conceding only 20

Some screens

Bolatti is a machine on this and should be a go-to DM for any team that can afford his fee (£4m).

Here you will find a version of my split 451 only this time using a different formation
The flow of the game is the same, the Right side being one that holds up the play and use triangels. Either to draw the attacking opponent onto them before launching a quick attack or by playing a more possession based build up, stretching the defensive opponent. On the left side, its much more straight forward. Here, the Winger moves down the line and either puts in a cross or drifts inside whilst the MCleft acts like a Gerard/Lampard

Don't look at the Rigid/Counter thingy. As most settings are tweaked, they don't mean anything. This also means that shouts are disabled

I have only tested this with middle teams and topteams

The Roles: Look for players fitting the roles given
NO playmaker ( hence the box is ticked and set to "none") and NO Target man
Match Prep'. Totally up to you but when playing on the counter, Defensive positioning is a good default approach

Using the TBH Asymmetric 451 (Not FMC) I can certainly state this is now my current tactic of choice.

I introduced it in the middle of my first season with Newcastle and as can often happen, results were mixed as the players started to get used to the new system. However, after a full pre-season, we have started the second season magnificently although I appreciate that it is early days.

Attached a couple of shots showing fixtures so far to portray two completely different matches using the tactic. Against Man Utd in the league game, we destroyed them in the first half an hour and I have included the following game against Fulham to show the side with a full eleven changes getting a fantastic result against a strong Fulham side.

Great start of the season and dont hesitate to post more screens once you have played some more.
Cheers !

Im using the 451 Asymmetrical version and its been DOMINATING! In my second season as manager of Everton. Used this since the start of the game and won the EPL and FA Cup in my first season, and am currently 1st in my second season as well as on the way through to CL Knockout stages after coming second in a group with SLB, Real Madrid and Dortmund! Super happy with the way my squad plays and the way my signings are just absolutely dominating. During the summer transfer window I bought Emiliano Viviano from Palermo on a free transfer as well as Mattia Destro on a free, as I had barely any transfer budget. First season I sold off a few fringe players but wanted to keep almost the full starting 11 so I could have high chemistry. Now everything is ticking like crazy! Signed a few amazing regens who will be the future of this team as well. Trying not to spend anything in the transfer windows from now on and building from within. Also my defence is just soooooo solid. I keep Jores Okore on 100% of the time for development and rotate Jagielka and Heitinga. WIth baines and Hibbert on either side, theyre unstoppable. Last year Mirallas won EPL Player of the year and was my leading scorer but the team almost changed the way it played and now my ST is scoring like crazy after settling.

Look at Ademilson after 1 year! He started playing way better than Jelavic so I played him every game basically then sold Jelavic in the summer.

I can only add to those who say its a great tactic. Undefeated in all competitions (mid november).
I just wonder if you've noticed any differences between the classic and TC versions? admittedly I havn't played both versions the same amount but I thought the Classic version is a little better.
Its probably just coincidence but I thought i'd mention it.
Thanks again TBH.
