***THE BETTER HALFS TACTIC UPLOAD & DISCUSSION

5th in Serie A with San Marino, first season!

Only Juventus conceeded fewer goals than me. Best thing, next season will be better as the team is very young and in many ways new as I changed almost every posistion from the team that won serie B

Great results !

Here is another asymmetric tactic from me.

SPLIT 361

As previously, the right side is a more possession based one and the left is a more direct counter one. When looking at the roles beneath, you will see that its more important to have players with good stats is Ball Control, Tactics and Attack on the Right side and on the left, its more Agility and Strengths.

Front 2

FC – Strong & Mobile
In the best of worlds, its Cavani

AMC
– False nine/False 10
A player with good dribbling, acceleration, agility and finishing. He is your 2nd striker and a mixture between the roles above
Examples: Giroud/Any Of them: Dzeko /Aguero ( but NOT with the comes deep ppm), Zamora/Taraabt, etc

Central Midfield

MCright – Deep Lying Playmaker
If this player has high creativity and Decision but low flair, then raise his creative freedom so his Flair + Creative freedom equals about 24
MCcenter - Attacking BBM Midfielder

MCleft – Supporting Central Mid.
If he is left footed and can cross it’s a huge plus
DMC – Supporting Ballwinner with great stamina

Defenders

WBR – A holding Wingbacks
The smarter the better

DL – Fullback/wingback on support
This player needs to know how to cross and be able to use his pace

DC & DC
Nothning special here apart from the roles

Thats might be a really, really important match when looking at the table at the end of the season.

I am currently playing my last matches in my Southampton save. We are doing goooood. :D

In my save, second year, PSG has a terrible season... I've Score 7 goals in 2 games against us... they are only 14th....

Good tactic!

Came 2nd in my first season with Liverpool (no buys), won the FA Cup and the Europa League with the original tactic. I retrained Assaidi to MR and he did really well there. I switched between Downing and Suarez on the AML spot and retrained Allen to DMC so Lucas could play MC as he seems pretty suited to the DPL role.

Now in the new season I've bought a few players to suit the tactic more. I decided on going on the mirrored version so I bought Yarmalenko for the ML spot (seems to have the perfect attributes for this role) and I bought Belhanda for the AMR spot (again I think he fits in well here as he can cross, dribble and is rather creative too). I also got Felipe Melo for the DMC role so now I have a Brazilian balance in the centre.

Obviously I have to wait until it all gels together but on paper I think this could be an exciting season :)

Looks like you have got a really exiting squad going on there. Just a thought, what would happen if you trained Suarez in AMC :)
( or tought him " plays one-twos" to be used in FC)

Well he did play a few games at AMC and did really well but I have Gerrard there and there's no way Suarez is taking that position away from him ;) Obviously Gerrard's not getting any younger but in the few friendlies I've seen Belhanda play at AMC, he's doing a a good job there scoring a few scorchers, almost in Gerrard fashion :) tbh Suarez could play anywhere in the front 3, he'd do a good job.

Haha, yeah ! If you are to play Pool properly, there is no way that you would put SG on the bench.

Btw, are you " the" Justified that used to post rather a lot prior to FM10 ( at SI and FM-Britain ) ?

Looks really promising!
Should give this a bash with Ipswich actually, great squad for this one! :) Any particular i should have in mind during season?

Will it work with a lower league like Ipswich you think?

cheers

yeah, it should " work" with Ipswich
The only only thing to keep in mind is that this is just a tactical approach. The way you coach the players and pick the lineup is far more important.

Thanks, Yeah of course! Having earlier sucess with a not so strong Peterborugh, so i should do the trigger with the coaching :)

Another question thou, is there any recommended and non-recommended PPM's for the positions applied? And if YES, which one/-s? :)

cheers

Have à read in post 146 and them try to think what they should not do. After this, just ask away

Yes indeed I am. Become more of a casual gamer these days as I have limited time but I do appreciate the tactic, it's very solid if you know what you're doing. :)

Sorry, but nothing in post 146 will help me with my question actually :p

Well, consider that post anyway an then look at this one.

DR- in that post 146, so no attacking ppms
DMC- as he is more attacking, no PLM PPMs as in the MC in post 146
MC- no PPMs conflicting to being a DEEP Lying Playmaker, like "gets forward
MR- he is a classic winger so no " comes deep" or any playmaker PPMs
AML- does not matter. Just match them to his stats.
AMC- NO TQ here, no playmaker, only attacking PPms , no dictates tempo etc
FC- if being a top team, then the PPMs of a poacher is no good, of being a bottom team, then the PPms of an target man is No good

edit: ****, it was 146 at SI, not here
