I dnt know why but i never seem to use Rooney. I didn't in last years save.

I will send my scouts out as i like to use youth. I think Henriquez is going to be a star and iam going to use your idea and get vp to tutor him.
 
Has anyone SS of United youngsters from season 2017/2018 and further? I would like to see Mitchell, Rashford and Keane if possible.
 
Having been a lurker here for way too long time, it's my time to post. As it's been a tradition since the very first Football Manager game, my first game is with Man Utd!

How far: I've played 7 games of the 3rd season so far. I'm 1st together with Arsenal.
Titles: Premier League winner the 2 first seasons + a couple of national cup trophies - got beaten by Barca in the ChL semis 2nd season :(

I've bought: Lucas, Romero, Tielemans, Pogba, Pjanic, Balanta, Jovic, Andrija Zivkovic, Fierro, Cleiton José, Masip (2nd GK), Ante Coric, Roberto Pererya (got him for free after 1st season - he has been one of my best players)

I haven't lost in 60 consecutive Premier League matches. I've never expierenced such a long win streak in my entire FM carrer.

Where about`s do you play Roberto Pererya? I am also doing a Juve game and he has done well on the right wing too.

Anderson, Young, possibly Fletcher (All three are useless)

You could go further and get rid of Rooney or Falcao... both are on £1M wages and they will cripple your finances in the first season, I was £80M in the red, sold Rooney for £30m to Chelsea (would have given him away, he's useless for me) to get him off my wage book... I would bring in Munir, will become better than Van Persie, Rooney and Falcao within a few years.

Munir would cost £10m and in my 2nd season he's scored 25 goals, played 32 league games so far!

I also sold Ander Herrera to Madrid for £19m in my second season (Kovacic, Mata, etc were better) - Valencia went to Monaco for £25m... Smalling and Evans both went to Arsenal for £10m each. United's starting squad is quite poor imo, after a season or two they aren't sufficient for your level.

This is actually a reasonably tough question in this year's version. Ashley Young actually performs well in the first season, but you can't offload him for a decent price after it, so he generally is sold. High Wages and old. Also, Anderson is definitely a sell.

Fletcher, I'd keep. Excellent tutor, and is rather good in the first season.

Other than that, it basically comes down to your choice. I tend to sell Rooney, either in the first season or at the start of the second. Rather high wages, getting older, temperamental and isn't that good (ingame).
 
Probably the only 'must sell' player is Anderson. Young and Fletcher can be very useful. It depends what kind of tactics you want to play.
 
Im sitting 2nd behind chelsea in my utd game.

Sold valencia , young , smalling and rooney.

Signed balanta, depay, reus , coleman, juan jesus and gil romeo(loaned back)

Depay is a beast but reus has been really poor so far

How much did you sign pong a for?
 
Decided to keep Valencia as I wasn't prepared to let him go for the low offers I was getting. Turned out to such a good decision - he's been immense! Played him out on the right as a supporting winger, scores so many and gets loads of assists.

He did end up damaging his cruciate ligaments though in February, so gutted!
 
Bought Cuadrado and kept Valencia as back up for him... Can't beleive how good he's been. Nearly at the end of my first season and he's had 15 goals and countless assists. He flies up the wing on his crosses are outstanding... Falcoa has been bumming him flatout
 
Anyone found any luck with the youth at the start of the game? I've found Croskery, Mitchell, Wilson, Redmond and Rashford (with Ledson and Zivkovic added) are my go-to group for cup games, and they've been really, really good.

How much did you buy Cuadrado for?

Im currently in December second season (lost the charity shield 2-1 to chelsea). Im second 6 points off the top. Mainly using new tactics that Ive made to test possession based stuff which hardly lose but there are a lot of draws.

Januzaj/Mata/Romero are particularly good
