I've decided to do a bi-monthly update as both months were rather short.
So we've started the League season very well with an unbeaten start, we'd look to continue this great form into the next two months.
Although with matches coming up against our big rivals Africa Sports and also against Stella, it certainly would be a great effort to stay unbeaten.
Here's the fixtures...

View attachment 355310

ASEC Mimosas vs AS Tanda (6/12/14) Ligue 1

View attachment 355368

We made this match a lot tougher for us than it should of been, AS Tanda are rock bottom of the table and we should of never really been in trouble.
I've been thinking of removing our shoot on sight policy from our tactic to see if we become more clinical, but we keep on winning so I think i'll keep it.
Man Of The Match - Pierre Kwizera

Stella
vs ASEC Mimosas (13/12/14) Ligue 1

View attachment 355353

Much closer game than the scoreline suggests, it was end-to-end from start to finish with both teams looking like we could score with every attack.
Luckiy we were a bit more clinical than Stella, the game was really in the balance up until 84th minute which saw us then score two goals to clinch the 3 points.
Man Of The Match - Pierre Kwizera

ASEC Mimosas
vs Africa Sports (20/12/14) Ligue 1

View attachment 355340

Quite disappointed to not win this game, although Africa Sports are one of the stronger teams in the league, I still felt with the chances we created that we should of won this match.
We were very wasteful in front of goal, luckily we got the late goal which I felt we really deserved as we were the better team throughout the match.
Man Of The Match - Valentine Zoungrana

Issia Wazi
vs ASEC Mimosas (3/1/15) Ligue 1

View attachment 355331

It was refreshing to see us winning a game comfortably after the last two, the lower level of opposition probably had a lot to do with it but were back to our best in front of goal.
It's good to see one of our new signings Ekow Benson getting on the score sheet as well.
Man Of The Match - Ekow Benson

ASEC Mimosas vs SC Gagnoa (10/1/14) Ligue 1

View attachment 355330

Very dominant performance from us as we seem to back into top form, both new signings scored in this match which is encouraging to see for the rest of the season.
Man Of The Match - Sylvanus Ebiaku

A very positive two months for us, we're now unbeaten in our first 11 matches of the season.
We're now on what seems like a winter break in the season, so to go into the break unbeaten is a very good achievement.
Here's how the League looks after 11 games...

Goal Of The Month(s) and Player Of The Month(s)

Goal Of The Month(s)

Quite a few goals this month, so I spent quite a bit of time deciding which one to choose.
However with him being a new signings, I decided to goal with his goal...

So this months see's us entering the CAF Champions League and Coupe de Côte d'Ivoire, we'll be looking to win both. Although i'm not too sure how we compare in terms of quality to the other teams in the Champions League, we'll just go game by game.
Here's the fixtures for this month...

View attachment 355161

ASEC Mimosas vs Maxaquene (13/2/15) Champions League Prelim Rnd Leg 1

View attachment 355160

Obviously Maxaquene are a few level's below us, which means we can't really judge how far in this tournament we'll go on this game.
However it's good to see scoring a lot of goals and really asserting our dominance.
Man Of The Match - Boughoui

ASEC Mimosas vs AS Indenie (18/2/14) Ivorian Cup 2nd Rnd

View attachment 355159

Similar to the previous games in more ways than just the scoreline, AS Indenie are also a level below us, so we were always expected to win easily.
Man Of The Match -Soumahoro

USC Bassam vs ASEC Mimosas (21/2/15) Ligue 1

View attachment 355158

This game saw us return to league action and carry on our good form from the previous two matches, it was good to see us still creating lot's of chances while playing better opposition.
We completely controlled possession and isolated their striker, we would of kept a clean sheet if it wasn't for our goalkeeper dropping an absolute clanger.
Man Of The Match - Boughoui

Maxaquene vs ASEC Mimosas (27/2/15) Champions League Prelim Rnd Leg 2

View attachment 355157

Not much to say about this game as this kind of result was fully expected, although the win do see us progress into the next stage which is the first round.
Man Of The Match - Boughoui

A very different month from what be we've used to, it saw us drop a level of quality in opposition which saw us incredibly scoring 24 goals in 4 games.
We're also now on a unbeaten streak of 15 games this season, it would be amazing to go unbeaten all season so hopefully we can achieve that.
It will be tough though as the games get harder and harder in the Champions League.
Here's the League Table...

Goal Of The Month and Player Of The Month

Goal Of The Month

Taking into account we scored 24 goals in the 4 matches we played, the quality of goals wasn't really all that high, however we still managed to score a really good free-kick.
Here's our Goal Of The Month...

Player Of The Month

If you go back and look at this months games you can clearly see one standout player, he scored an insane 14 goals in 4 games.

Haa what a crazy month, 24 goals in 4 matches! Looking forward to seeing how you get in on the Champions League as well

If anyone want's to try out my tactic then here's a link , it's been working brilliantly for me so far.
It's a very direct tactic, the team get's forward very quick and exploits the flanks.
I've been scoring lot's of goals, as you can see with the results I've had in this story.

March

View attachment 354897

This team is by far the most busy month we've had, this mean's for the first time our squad will have to deal with fatigue and most likely a few injuries.
Here's the fixtures...

View attachment 354893

ASI Abengourou vs ASEC Mimosas (4/3/15) Ligue 1

View attachment 354892

Really impressive performance from the team, we were always expected to win as ASI Abengourou are near the bottom of the table but to score 7 goals is always impressive.
Also to see us control possession is great, as our tactic is one which tends to be more direct.
Man Of The Match - Ekow Benson

ASEC Mimosas
vs Sewe (7/4/15) Ligue 1

View attachment 354891

Very disappointed to lose this game, it see's our 16 match unbeaten streak come to an end.
The early penalty miss really came back to haunt us, also fatigue played a big part as our player's became really tired and picked up a few knocks during the match.
Man Of The Match - Ekow Benson

SO Armee
vs ASEC Mimosas (11/3/15) Ligue 1

View attachment 354882

Very close game, SO Armee really pushed us all the way.
We had to play a weakened team due to fatigue, it really affected our performance especially defensively as they caused us a lot of problems.
Man Of The Match - Pierre Kwizera

Stella vs ASEC Mimosas (14/3/15) Coupe de Côte d'Ivoire 3rd RND

View attachment 354880

Really disappointed to lose this game, we really deserved better as we created much more chances and also had the majority of possession.
Once again fatigue is really punishing us, the team isn't at it's strongest personnel wise and that's causing us to not play at our full potential.
The loss also see's us crash out of the Ivorian Cup, it gives us a chance to concentrate on other competitions but I really wanted to go on and win this competition.

Man Of The Match - Moussa Doumbia

JCA vs ASEC Mimosas (17/3/15) Ligue 1

View attachment 354879

Simply the craziest match I've ever seen in FM, to see one of the opposition player score four goals and still lose the match is just insane.
Both defenses were rendered useless, the game was end-to-end with both teams creating a clear cut chance nearly every time we went forward.
All madness aside, it's good to see us get back to winning ways.
Man Of The Match - Stevens Koffie

Ma Tetouan vs ASEC Mimosas (20/3/14) CAF Champions League 1st Rnd 1st Leg

View attachment 354864

Very important win, I expected the match to be a lot harder than it was especially when the press mentioned that we were underdogs.
Contrary to what the media predicted, we were by far the better team and well outplayed the Moroccan Champions also the win put's in a very strong position for the second leg.
Man Of The Match - Jean-Jacques Boughoui

A very tough month with equal amounts of positives and negatives, the team didn't really deal well with the extra amount of matches we had to play and the added fatigue that brought.
On the positive note it looks as if we will progress into the next round of the CAF Champions League, we also still sit in a strong position in the league, how we're not outright leaders with our record so far is beyond me.
Here's the league table...

Goal Of The Month

Great passing move from the team, and also an accomplished finish from our accomplished striker.

Player Of The Month

Another great month from our main striker, he scores so many important goals and we'd be much worse off without him.

Takeover Saga

View attachment 354775

Yeah, so we're going from a little period of uncertainty with our board, the situation is constantly changing.
I hope that if there is an eventual board takeover it doesn't affect my job status as i'm really starting to enjoy managing ASEC Mimosas and as always i'm getting quite attached to the players at the club.
Anyway, who's a few screenshots that illustrate the uncertainty of the club's ownership at the moment...

View attachment 354769

As this point I was fairly annoyed as this news came during the actual transfer window, and in my opinion there was no need to change the ownership of the club as it was working well.

View attachment 354772

As always these things take time and hit roadblocks, it was starting to drag on a little bit and become a little bit frustrating as I had no control over it.

View attachment 354765

So the takeover saga took another twist and talks continued and it looks like we'll be getting new ownership, however this wasn't the end and far from the end it seems...

View attachment 354764 View attachment 354761

At this point it's really becoming a bit of a rollercoaster ride and i'm not really sure what's going to happen, however I've just decided to sort of put it on the backseat and concentrate on producing results on the pitch.
Anyway, i'll keep you updated on further progression or lack of it and as always thanks for reading :)

Youth Intake

So we've received this year's youth intake and it's fairly good, here's a look at the potential future stars of ASEC Mimosas...

Here's the three strongest players from the intake in my opinion...

April

This month see's us play important games in both Ligue 1 and the CAF Champions League, the league game against AFAD Djekanou is probably our most important game so far this season.
We've both been matching each-other stride for stride so far and this was an opportunity for us to gain an advantage, while in the Champions League we play two important matches which could see us move towards progressing into the group stages of the tournament
Here's the fixtures...

View attachment 354691

ASEC Mimosas vs MA Tetouan (4/4/15) CAF Champions League 1st Round 2nd Leg

View attachment 354690

Our first leg performance saved us really, we really didn't play well defensively in this match and to concede 5 goals at home is always dispiriting.
Looking on the bright side though, we now progress into the 2nd Round against Algerian side USM Alger
Man Of The Match - Ekow Benson

ASEC Mimosas vs ES Bingerville (8/4/15) Ligue 1

View attachment 354688

It's good to see us bounce back with a strong home win after our pretty poor performance against MA Tetouan,
our defense were more composed during this game and cut out the mistakes made previously.
Man Of The Match - Pierre Kwizera

ASEC Mimosas vs AFAD Djekanou (11/4/15) Ligue 1

View attachment 354687

In my opinion this is our most important win of the season so far, we took advantage of paying at home and made sure we got the three points.
After giving away a stupid penalty, I thought we may struggle to win the game but we reacted brilliantly after a change of tactics which saw our defense drop a little deeper to stop their pacey strikers getting in behind.
Our front three also showed their importance by all getting a goal each.
Man Of The Match - Bougouhi

Denguele vs ASEC Mimosas (15/4/15) Ligue 1
View attachment 354686
This match was much closer than the scoreline suggest, we couldn't have really complained if Denguele had taken a point.
Our clinical finishing proved the difference between the two sides, although we were left wanting with the defense again as they made too many individual mistakes, hopefully we can rectify this in training.
Man Of The Match - Pierre Kwizera

AS Tanda vs ASEC Mimosas (18/4/15) Ligue 1

View attachment 354685

A routine, expected win against probably the worst side in the league.
Good to see our defense playing a little better, but we can't judge it to heavily as the opposition wasn't exactly the strongest.
Man Of The Match - Vakoun Bayo

ASEC Mimosas vs USM Alger (25/4/14) CAF Champions League 2nd Round 1st Leg

View attachment 354684

I feared the worst in this game, they looked very strong in the first half and we were also missing three of our strongest players in Boughoui, Benson and Soumahoro.
Luckily my team-talk seemed to work wonders as we played the second-half with a much better tempo, making sure we got a two goal lead was very important considering they got themselves an away goal.
Man Of The Match - Pierre Kwizera

A much more positive month than March, a important win against AFAD Djekanou saw us took an outright lead at the top of the table.
We've also taken big steps to progressing into the group stages of the CAF Champions League which is exciting.
Here's the league table...

Yeah, I've been a silent reader, But really am enjoying this so far bud.

Not that I can think of, You've pretty much got everything covered as I can think of

EDIT: Maybe a Manager Interview every other month?

Another Board Update...

View attachment 354619

Very positive new's, as I expected our new chairman has chosen to let us stay at the club.
The board also has lifted the transfer embargo, this doesn't bother me really as i'll be looking to become as self-sufficient as we can and promote from within.
One slightly baffling decision they have made is to upgrade training facilities, the facilities were already being upgraded and do it again at such a big cost is a bit bemusing.

View attachment 354618 View attachment 354617 View attachment 354616

I'm currently writing an update, it's going to be a very long and exciting one :)

Ligue 1 Run In...

View attachment 354314

Here we are, I've decided to include all the last few League games into this update.
We go into these last few months with a 3 point gap at the top of the table between us and AFAD Djeakanou, so it was vital we didn't slip up and let the league title slide through our hands.
We also had the 2nd leg of our Champions League tie to play against USM Alger, a win would see us progress into the group stages of the competition which would be very exciting for the club.
Here's the fixtures...

View attachment 354307

ASES Mimosas vs Stella (2/5/15) Ligue 1

View attachment 354305

Stella
are one of the harder teams we face in this run up, so i'm very happy we won comfortably against them as they could of potentially caused us problems.
I also have no idea how we keep controlling possession as our tactic we play is more of a direct, fast-flowing and attacking way of playing rather than a slow, patient build up.
However, if we keep winning I have no complaints :)
Man Of The Match - Ekow Benson

Africa Sports vs ASEC Mimosas (6/5/15) Ligue 1

View attachment 354303

Tough result to take, especially playing against our big rivals.
Africa Sports took a bit of a physical approach to the game which lead to us picking up a few knocks, it also disrupted us a few times trying to catch them on the break.
The result meant that AFAD Djekanou moved to within one-point of us, this fact made the run-in even more nerve-racking as we couldn't even afford to draw a match now.

Man Of The Match - Ekow Benson

USM Alger vs ASEC Mimosas (9/5/15) CAF Champions League 2nd Rnd 2nd Leg

View attachment 354298

Once again our first leg performance saved us in this competition, I think the team became a little complacent which lead to us going two goals down and on the brink of being knocked out.
We began playing with the objective of trying to frustrate them and maybe catch them out on the counter, however this just wasn't working as they were finding way's in behind our defense. Therefore I decided to take a more attacking approach which worked wonders with 3 goals coming in 18 minutes.
Man Of The Match - Jean-Jacques Boughoui

ASEC Mimosas vs Issia Wazi (23/5/15) Ligue 1

View attachment 354297

Probably one of our more dominant performances so far this season, we never really let them get a foothold in the game and then blew them away with our impressive attacking play
Man Of The Match - Ekow Benson

SC Gagnoa vs ASEC Mimosas (30/5/14) Ligue 1

View attachment 354289

Pretty routine performance from the team, our swift attacking play was once again too much for our opponents as we took them apart with ease.
Man Of The Match - Mark Sekyere

ASEC Mimosas vs SO Armee (20/6/15) Ligue 1

View attachment 354268

Jean-Jacques Boughoui presented us with a masterclass in finishing, all the praise can't go to him though as the midfield provided with him with quality service throughout the game.
This win took us within three points of retaining the league title.
Man Of The Match - Jean-Jacques Boughoui

ASEC Mimosas vs USC Bassam (4/7/15) Ligue 1

View attachment 354249

What an absolutely amazing performance to win the League title with!
We were easily at our most dominant as USC Bassam didn't have a shot on goal, We could of been 4-0 up within the first half if it hadn't of been for a missed penalty.
Anyway, this win see's us retain the League title and now our focus shifts onto the CAF Champions League.
Man Of The Match - Soumahouro

A very good end to a very good season, we took the league title by 4 points from AFAD Djekanou as they drew the last game to leave us comfortably ahead.
The draw against Africa Sports worried me a little bit, but we recovered well and won the rest of our league matches with ease.
We now shift our attention to the Champions League Group Stages, our group has been drawn but I won't be too sure of the quality of opposition until we come up against them.
Here's the League Table and the newly-drawn Champions League group...
