thank you

yes I am using your tactic so it has worked pretty darn well. I would tell people though that a standard strategy is better for lower league as it garnered some great results after struggling with the Control strategy at the start of the season

Thanks Lewis!

If anyone has any recomendations for signings feel free to share!

Cristiano Ronaldo :P

I'm not really sure on signings for lower leagues really :S

very very well done mate :)

remember just browse through the unattached lads though their "attacking","defensive" attributes etc. just click on a stat important and it lists them in order you find the best frees this way IMO.

also you may be able to get a parent club now whihc would enable 4 season long loan deals with no wages so.

End of Season

It has come to the end of the season and I am very happy at the club and the board are even happier at me. I refused jobs at three clubs including Leyton Orient and they were very happy that I had stuck with the club but I was always going to do this. They are ecstatic that I managed to get them promotion as they did not believe it was on the cards for this season. However I could not have done it without my players and these are my players that were key to the promotion.

***** Topp was brilliant this season. He was the only arrival that came for a transfer fee and he certainly lived up to the £50,000 we payed for him. Thirty one goals in forty appearances takes some doing and I just hope that he can get a similar amount of goals in the League above.

I am so delighted that we got Daniel on loan from Liverpool this season and he proved my judgement right. Daniel eas fantastic this season, he chipped in with eleven goals from thirty four appearances from the attacking midfield position and got an average rating of 7.17 which is very consistent for this level of football. I hope Liverpool will loan him out to us next season and I hope also that he will want to come back to us as I would love to have him for another season at the club.

I knew the ex-Chelsea player would be a great player for us and he has turned over a very good season in Vale colours. He had a very consistent season holding our midfielder together alongside Jarrett and Fraser and was one of our best players this season starting thirty three times and scoring three goals. I hope to see him play as well at a higher level.

We only signed this left back in January after his TPS contract expired. They must have regretted getting rid of him as he was very steady at the back for us. We were struggling in the position and he firmly woin the first team place from Kris Taylor. Kris is a very good player but Iiro has proved that he is a different class since January.

Everyone at the club is delighted that we got promotion this season. We struggled at the start but really improved going into the new year. Throughout February and March we always held the playoff spaces and I was just hoping that we could hold on to them but it was something else to get promoted automatically. I am very proud.

fantastic :D
knew you could do it, that's a quality achievement. i reckon you can go and get promoted again with a few good signings.
and mateee, we did it :D check out my page for latest and almost last update.

very well done mate :) remember to look through the unattached players the right way because you can find some top top players if you look hard enough.

Thanks Deano I will have a look!

Oakes swoops to sign Taylor-Fletcher

Today, 1st July 2010, Port Vale manager Daniel Oakes has completed the signing of Gary Taylor-Fletcher on a free transfer from Blackpool. Recently relegateb Blackpool now in the same league as Vale were believed to have offered Taylor-Fletcher out to manager Oakes in June for nothing and Daniel Oakes snapped at the opportunity. Gary can play in many positions including right wing and attacking midfield. ''If I fail to re-sign Daniel Pacheco, Gary is a great player to step in, if we still have Daniel for the season I'm sure Gary will fit in somewhere as he is a great player and will do well for the club''.

Gary Taylor-Fletcher has recently signed for newly promoted Port Vale and hopes to take them on to successive promotions.

In other news Port Vale have released Michael Nardiello, Anthony Griffith and David howland. Oakes simply said that they weren't in his first team plans and therefore got rid of them off the wage list and he wishes them luck in the rest of their career.

ouch, no transfer budget. that hurts. does that mean you'll be selling, or just bringing in loan signings?

I have signed a lot of released players from premier league clubs on free transfers! I got given a decent wage budget so it wasnt too bad!

Port Vale have today unveiled three new kits for their new campaign to start in August. The return to white colours again is a great choice as it is much easier on the eye. That will be their home kit. Their away and third kit are based on yellow. The away kit is very nice based in bumble bee yallow and black hoops and the alternate strip is bright yellow but they will not be appearing in that strip very often.

thank you

Hey mate, might wanna try rigid with attacking or control. Should work pretty well i hope =x You could experiment on your upcoming friendlies (6) But really really great results there mate :$

Transfers Update

Recently promoted Port Vale have been the subject on many people's lips this month as they have been very active in the transfer market. In addition to the free transfer signing they have managed to sign no less than nine players to add to their ranks.

They have re-signed defender Ritchie De Laet on loan and also attacking midfielder Daniel Pacheco. They have also managed to sign three former Arsenal starlets in Rhys Murphy, Kerrea Gilbert and Thomas Cruise after they had their Arsenal contracts terminated. They have also signed former Man City goalkeeper Filip Mentel as well as Carl Magnay and Zak Whitbread to balance out their defence.

Perhaps the biggest signing is the free transfer of midfielder Sam Hewson after his Manchester United contract was terminated. Oakes stated ''I am absolutely delighted to sign Sam as well as all of these other players. I expect Sam as well as everyone else to make a big impact on the club''.

Rhys Murphy and Zak Whitbread are just two of the new arrivals at Vale Park.

In other news Vale have sold three players from their previous season. John McCombe has left Vale Park for Bury for a fee aroung £12k. Rob Taylor has signed for Bradford for £450 and Louis Dodds left for Dagenham for £45k. The Valiants also loaned out hot prospect James Lawrie to Cheltenham for six months.

fantastic signing in murphy mate :D

Mate get Murphy on a good schedule he will improve loads for me. 65 goals in 93 games for me and that is league 1 and championship so make sure you play him he will do wonders in the right position!

sam hewson didn't cut it for me but that was because I had fantastic centre mids he should do great job for you and improve quite a bit! good luck mate succesive promotions is definately possible.

Yeah I am putting him on Pompey Dans schedule but I have **** coaches what did you have him on?

I have him on my own one but pompey dans one is great put him on the striker schdule on that and he will be great :) I'm surprised other people haven't hyped him much because he is an absolute beast at this level.
