According to Ibrahim Affelay's agent, Affelay could go out on loan this year. He could be a real coup for a lot of clubs, although I imagine he carries a healthy wage.

Spurs reject final offer of 30 million from Real Madrid.

Rumours saying Alex Song heavily linked with Barca. Eh? Where that come from

But they have Busquets and Mascherano... This move makes no sense to me :S

Well, Puyol isn't long from gone, they seem to be playing Masch as a centre back and they'd probably play Song as a backup to Busquets. Agreed though, it isn't like he'd be integral to the team. It seems to be more of a problem of having your top players have contracts which expire in the same year, with RVP leaving leading to Walcott questioning his future, to which Song seems to rightly be saying ... what am I going to win here with two of the top players looking to leave.

Sorry but I hope this happens. They've been linked with Martinez & De Rossi all summer, if Rodwell is the midfielder they sign instead then I'll be delighted, I don't think he'll improve them that much tbh.

Anywhere but there. They have enough quality as it is. Yes the money we'd get would be a huge boost, but what guarantees does he have of regular football? Saying that his injuries aren't helping much either. Rather he either stayed, or went somewhere where he'd get regular football. If he's to develop into a very good England midfielder he'll need it. And that's something he won't get sitting on the bench. That's happened to too many players lately and their development has stalled, and they've never realised their full potential. An example is Dan Gosling. Yes he's been injured, but what happened to him? Too much talent get's wasted at times.

He can improve them too when fit due to his versatility. CB, DM, CM would benefit any team in the league

I am in shock. I did say that we should consider a 15m bid, but I can't imagine they have offered anything near that. We're going to be left very short in the middle now unless Moyes pulls the finger out and plays Barkley more.

However that said, if this is the only player we sell this window ill not be too disappointed. Just kills me to see a player we expected to become a real classy player being shipped on to achieve his potential at another club.

I did not want to see this happen tbh. I really like him as a player-he did mark silva out the match before after all which shows what he's capable of. We may get cash but at the same time, I have a horrible feeling we're going to regret this further down the road.

Having the medical today too :(

Shame, hope you make them pay over the odds for him.

Hope so too. But I just didn't want him to go. He could end up the same way as Johnson. It's just a weird signing to me when they already have a solid midfield. Yeah some may be getting on a bit, but they have Nasri, De Jong. would've thought they'd go for cover in defence as they could use a CB, and Mancini wants to make Rodwell into a quality DM. Just gutted. Season hasn't even kicked off yet and already I'm ****** off lol

That is true, on his day he is a phenomenal player. Against United 2 years back too, he was excellent. His problem has been injuries (I wouldn't be surprised if he failed the medical). I just hope we're getting a good fee and not a Mikel Arteta 10m. It's worrying that we're still getting rid of our youth though, if anything we should be trying to get more youngsters playing. The starting XI is far too old at the minute, we have what 2-3 players under 25 who will probably start come start of season.

In an ideal world id like 12-15m plus Adam Johnson, but that has little chance of happening. Just hope Moyes gets to spend the money and when he does, he pulls a big name. This club has lacked a big name for a long time.

It's one of those deals which on the surface may look great for Everton as it is, although 2 years down the line it may look like an absolute steal for City. Lad has potential, if he can hit that with City.. he'll be right up there.

Isn't he injury prone? Honestly, he's good, but I never found him anything special. Plus it's not like he cost you anything. Can get a good player or two
