Saw this rumour flying around Twitter... Thought it was just the usual nonsense from people after the RVP transfer. Hernandez would be a great buy, behind Welbeck and now RVP in the pecking order. Would provide excellent cover for Torres. Young so he fits in with our Youth policy nicely. Would work well in our 4-2-3-1 system with Mata behind him 'in the hole'

Hopefully this transfer happens... Would be great

Don't think there is much chance of it happening though, probably just seeing if he's available because of the RVP signing.

He would cost a lot. Probably 20-25m. And I don't think we are looking to sell Hernadez, or Chelsea really want to buy him. It's just paper talk.

Could possibly happen. Hernandez has just been moved further down the pecking order with the signing of RVP. He will definitely get more games at Chelsea and probably more money too

Possibly although I can certainly see why Chelsea would want him. Will suit our system very well and would be an excellent replacement once Torres goes...

It won't happen unless Chelsea pay over the odds. Why would Fergie sell player to strengthen the team that could potentially rival for title.

The same reason why Arsenal sold RVP to Man Utd. Because Hernandez may want to leave and force a move through. I have already laid out the reasons why Chelsea could be attractive for him. Although personally speaking it does look unlikely but I would be very happy if it happened

portsmouth have signed Luke Rodgers, izale McLeod,Jon Harley,Mustapha Dumbuya,Simon Eastwood,Lee Williamson,Jack Compton,Brian Howard(new captain),Ashley Westwood (player assistant),Liam Walker,Kieran Djilali all sign on month deals and mikkel andersen joins on loan soon to be followed by Connor Clifford and Tom Soares on one month deals all hoping to be extended if we get sorted and josh thompson to join on six month loan on monday appy also expects more today and trust could takeover next week |) im buzzing just got my season tickets today and can't wait for bournemouth tomorrow PUP

Answered it. RVP had one year left on his contract, so it was completely different.

Arsenal have sold Toure, Clichy, Nasri, Ade to City, how many players have United sold to their rivals?

Yeah but Wneger specifically mentioned that they would have preferred to sell RVP abroad except that RVP forced a move through to United which coupled with United's inflated transfer fee make it hard for Arsenal to resist.

Does not matter what has happened in the past--- Circumstances are different for each player. Hernandez may very well be tempted to move to Chelsea and might force through one although Chelsea will also have to do their part and pay a inflated transfer value .. Not by too much though.

The reason why I said it looks unlikely is that Hernandez may not want to come to Chelsea which will kill any deal... I think United may be willing to accept 20-25m pounds for what is now their 4th choice striker even if he is going to a rival club. Think about it, you might actually be able to spend that on reinforcing a weak area for a change

It's not going to happen. United love having 4 forwards. If anyone is going its Berbatov.

Wenger wanted to sell him to foreign teams but RVP was not interested and he had only year left on contract. Heinze tried to engineer a move to Liverpool few years back, but SAF sold him to Madrid.

Arsenal didn't sell them some 10-20 years back, they did last year.

Well you repeated what I said in my first post,
It won't happen unless Chelsea pay over the odds.
. He signed contract last year which means he has at least 4 years left on his contract. Ball is not in his court.

Re your last point, we can spend money without selling Hernandez. If you think Chelsea have a chance to sign Hernandez then good luck.

Edit: You couldn't sign Modric who was desperate to leave and was ready to join Chelsea. That's how hard it is to buy players from rival team when they have bigger contracts. Only way to happen is pay over the odds, which won't happen as Hernandez is happy at United and Fergie loves him as super sub.

You know the fee for RVP is £15m, £7m in appearances, and then 1.5m if we win the CL during the contract. Not sure how that is inflated?.

Hernandez wont be sold, and he definitely wouldn't be sold to Chelsea.

Cant remember the last player we sold to a direct rival. Think it was "Agent" Silvestre. Oh and Veron.

No idea why your getting so defensive. Hernandez is not god... He may very well find Chelsea to be more attractive due to higher pay and more game time. Might force a move through. Even if ball is not in his court regarding contract situation, would you want an unhappy player on your books?

Surely it would tempt United if Chelsea came in with a firm offer of say 20m pounds + add-ons and Hernandez wanted to go. Unlikely but you can't dismiss the possibility and Chelsea have made an enquiry. Hernandez is not irreplaceable...

Its 22.5m upfront with 1.5m add-ons according to BBC.

No it would not tempt United. All this is massive supposition, since he has not given a single hint he wants to leave, more so SAF is openly happy about the firepower we have.

As I said earlier... its unlikely because Hernadez has given no indication he wants to move yet. We have just made an enquiry so things could probably move forward in the next few days. Again, its an unlikey transfer but not completely out of the picture. If Hernandez says he wants to move then it could happen

"Of course they are two fantastic players, and it's great to have the both of them. But also I think what gives us more strength is the combinations I have up front now. If you go back to the '99 season when I had Andy and Dwight and Teddy and Ole Gunnar – the four best strikers in Europe. So I think I'm going towards that now.
"I've got Chicarito [Javier Hernández], Wayne, Robin, Danny Welbeck and I've got [Shinji] Kagawa. That's a fantastic combination of players there. Hopefully I pick the right combinations. It's great to have a player of Van Persie's quality to come into the squad as it is. I'm really pleased."

This is why he wouldnt be sold, especially not to Chelsea.

Its not unlikely, its not even happening. On the highly unlikely chance he wants to move, we still wouldnt sell to you.
