I wish I could sign Traore but I've only got a 1 Million, I've edited my budget so I have 86k on the wage budget. only signing free players at the moment.

Why? Who's gonna be the 1M signing? Hmmmm what positions do you need players in.

If you're signing free players you can get Henri Camara, Santiago Ezquerro, Mark Viduka etc

At the moment I don't have a goalie, I put on all my budget on wages so there will be no cash sales, I'm completely re-vamping the squad at the moment.

Please note I am in my second season ;)

I'd like to see you do well in Italy mate!

good luck with this. last time I saw your Burnley team were peroforming nd then I came on to see you relegated :( But still Rimini should be a hard but achievable challange. Best of luck.

It may achievebale because of the stupid amount of quality players I am able to get on loan ;)

High Expectation

After an excellent end to pre-season, Rimini Manager Rudolf Martinez said "I am delighted with the results, espicially the 2 nil victory over a quality Getafe side, we our brimming with confidence after scoring many goals, I can see us giving Cavese a very tough time in the Italian Cup. The first two fixtures were tough as we barely had a squad, now we have an amazing squad, I have full belief in the lads to challenge for Promotion this season".

The key man for Rimini this season will be Fernando Forestieri who is on loan from Genoa.

The media have predicted Rimini to finish 17th this season.

Rolando Zarate, the brother of Lazio starlet Mauro Zarate will be club captain at Rimini this season.

Rimini have sold 4900 season tickets for the upcoming Serie B Championship season.

Please note that some of my new signings have been placed in the reserve team.

I shall be using the Goals Galore tactic for this season which can be found here http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/f72/goals-galore-2010-its-back-and-its-banging-3-goals-t24827.html

Wanted to try something new Kris ;)

Competetive Games

Rimini 2 - 0 Cavese
Idrissou, Bah
With the likes of Forestieri and Destro inelgible to the play, the likes of Stevanovic and Idrissou stepped in, a proffessnial performance from Rimini was enough to see them past lower league oppositon, Idrissou put them ahead with a powerful effort early on and then a deflected free kick from Bah in the second half was enough to seal the victory.

Cameroon striker Idrissou today told the Rimini Daily Press that he in unable to settle into the area and is having problems adjusting to the new culture, Rimini Manager Rudolf Martinez said "Change is something we all struggle with, even I have had to adapt to this new country and new culture, I hope Idrissou keeps his mind on the job because I certainly, he is key to how well we do this season".

Rimini draw Grosseto in the next round of the Italian cup, the Serie B Championship will kick off 3 days after the cup game.

Grosseto 3 - 4 Rimini
Kucera (og), Idrissou, Taarabt, Zarate
Rimini took an early lead as two Serie B sides clashed together, Taarabt cross was forced over the line by Grosseto player Kucera to give Rimini a one nil lead, the lead was increased when Idrissou got his second goal in two games with a powerful effort, Rimini firmly in control at half time, Grosetto came out fighting in the second half and pulled one back through Carl Valeri, they then equalised when Valeri free kick was nodded in by Thomas Job. The game was taken to extra time where Grosetto went 3-2 ahead, Taarabt equalised however and then set up substitute Zarate to score the winner.

Rimini have drawn Fiorentina in the next round of the Italian Cup.

Rimini face Padova as there first fixture in the Serie's B.

Padova 1 - 4 Rimini
Ortega, Forestieri, Zarate (2)
Once again, Rimini went into half time with a 2 nil advantage, De Laet set up Ortega to hammer home the first, Forestieri then made it to with a fantastic header from Bah's cross. Padova pulled one back after the break through Timi Lahiti but substitute and Captain Zarate came off the bench two score two goals in quick succession and ultimately seal the win for Rimini.

Rudolf Martinez has expressed his delight at Rimini fantastic start to the season, he said "I am very pleased with the performances over the past week, we played in the Italian Cup on Wednesday so I had to shuffle the pack for today's games and deal with injuries, I am excited about our draw with Firentina as we will be able to test ourselves against some quality opposition. I hope to have some players back from injury soon".

Well played Jack, seems you've got a great set up at Rimini now, keep it up mate

Sustainable Development?

Rimini 1 - 0 Ancona
Destro
On loan Mattia Destro got the only goal of the game as Rimini dominated Ancona, substitute Taarabt crossed in from the right hand side and Destro was first to react as he gave Rimini the lead in the second half, Ancona reacted and hit the post through Iriome but failed to find an equaliser, it is now 4 wins in a row for promoted Rimini.

Rimini face Atalanta in there next fixture as the Serie top two teams face each other.

Rimini 2 - 1 Atalanta
Zarate (2)
Two penalties in either half was enough to secure victory for Rimini today, Zarate put Rimini one up in the first half after Faccioli was brought down in the box was Fausto Rossi's corner, Faccioli himself came close hitting the post off Rossi corner, Rossi could of made it two in the second half but spurned an easy chance, Atalanta were denied by the crossbar before Talamonti headed in from a corner to equalise, however Rimini battled on and then won another penalty after a long throw into the box from Dodo, Zarate once again stepped up to cooly convert his 4th league goal of the season.

Rimini go top of the League on 6 points with only Atalanta being the other team with 100% win record after two games.

Salernitana 1 - 1 Rimini
Forestieri
Rimini lost there 100% win record after drawing with promotion chasers Salernitana, on loan Forestieri put Rimini ahead on 28 minutes but Salernitana equalised just before half time, Salernitana could of won it in the second half but Rimini held on for there point.

Matteo Gianello has returned from injury, the former Napoli goalkeeper will soon take over in goal from Rimini youngster Gary Woods.

Rictie De Laet ruled out for 3-4 weeks after picking up a hamstring injury aginst Salernitana

good luck mate, was enjoying you at the burn though, shame about what happened, anyway good luck

Got off to a great start Jack, I thought i signed alot of players in my lower league days but you may have out done even me with that many signings, Sure can get some quality signings for that level though which is always helpful.

Do you plan on sticking it out with Rimini now or would you be tempted to take up another challange if the right club comes in for you?, I'll be following either way but maybe one day you can get back to England and give Burnley a kicking for sacking you.

Nice thread. Always good to see managers carry on after they get fired and see what the world throws at them.

Unlucky Jack, good to hear your carrying on with the story with another club shows your commited:) Goodluck with your new club!.
