It makes them a very dangerous cup side (as shown), but weaker in the league, as consistency is king. We saw it last season, sweep aside one team, crumble against the next. They really need some consistentcy performers to glue things together
Given the league form in 2016 through to when we started mailing it in and playing the 'B' side every other week the last 6 games, it's pretty much 6 and 2 threes. Without the Europa run, I have little doubt we'd of finished at least 5th last year, if not in the top 4. We only finished 6 points outside of 4th as it was and that was with only 1 win the last 5 when everything went on Europe.
From the first half of the year, there was big upturn in both goals scored and consistency the second half of the season. Going off memory but I think up until the Newcastle game when we jacked the league in with 5 to go, we sat 4th in points taken from when he took over.
It got better the longer they worked together.
