Cheers guys Will have December update soon

---------- Post added at 10:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:32 PM ----------

Will update tomoz. I've hurt my foot playing five a side (ouch) so going to relax tonight.:)

The holidays are coming...

Or not which seems to be the case concerning Tottenham. With eight matches penned in for December Martin Jol is really focusing on spirit and determination. He has rallied the team together and cancelled the usual club festive party potentially incurring the wrath of the squad. Jol commented...

" Yes it's true that I have cancelled the Christmas party but I feel that the position were in at the moment maybe jeopardised by hijinks going too far. I have instead given the squad an extra two days off this month but specifically asked them to stay fresh and focused on the task at hand. If we can stay where we are untill May this decision will reward everyone at the club and be well worth it."

Jol is 100% focused on the task at hand.

Tottenham started December with the shivers. On a night that was blisteringly cold and saw both managers wearing scarfs and wooley hats it was stalemate between these two. Carlton Cole took advantage of the cold weather by slotting in a cool volley but minutes later Jermain Defoe levelled things up with a smashing goal which sailed past Rob Green who was frozen on the spot.

The last gasp winner scored by Nicolas Lodeiro has sealed Tottenham's fate in the Champions League. They progress through to the Knockout Stages and will face one of Europes elite. Nicolas Lodeiro who himself couldn't believe what he'd done was exstatic and could hardly contain his joy. He ran the length of the pitch to celebrate with Joe Hart who had set him up for his mazy run from which he scored from.

An entertaining match which will have overjoyed the Spurs fans who have seen their team overcome a tough Sunderland side. The black cats really pulled it back and drew level just before half time after going two down early on. However it was Giovanni Dos Santos who won it with a clever finish from a Tom Huddlestone through ball.

A great match which was first to be shown on Match Of The Day due to the sheer adrenilin which had been put into thsi match. Bolton though looked the hungrier and more agile on the break and deservedly won the match. Johan Elmander was in fine form scoring two fantastic goals which sunk Tottenham.

Just when it looked like West Brom were out of the game James Morrison took matters into his own hands or should we say feet and stole an important point today.

Chelsea showed today why they are the Champions of England. They pressed Tottenham so far back that the Tottenham fans gave a sarcastic cheer everytime the players managed to get the ball out of their own half. The gulf in class was evident today and it showed the world that both teams are miles away in terms of talent.

Tottenham performed much better today as they agin go on a run against the top teams. Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt has a mixed day going from zero to hero, scoring the right end after a needless own goal. Roy Hodgson looked chuffed with the draw and Martin Jol the same.

Going to try loan Hernandez. Couldn't get him in August! Maybe Afellay aswell I'll have to have a look.

January

Transfer Time

Sky-Sports-Transfer-Center-800_2474516.jpg

It's that time of year again where clubs start dusting off their checkbooks and go crazy with the cash. Many clubs often see this point of the season as a time to evaluate the squad and strengthen if need be their team. Some use it as a time to flush players out or cut down wage bills. Tottenham manager Martin Jol has been busy sending scouts over Europe and is expected to sign a player or too.

8th January 2011 - 08.00am

IN - Ibrahim Afellay - £11,000,000
PA-6076627.jpg

A dutch of class! Afellay will provide pace and technique on the wings.

Only a week into the Transfer market and Martin Jol has already secured a real coup for the club. Dutch international Ibrahim Afellay joins in an £11M pound deal which is sure to please the Tottenham faithful. It looks as if the squad could do with improving and as the squad is quite small it should give others time to rest and regain fitness after long spells in the squad. Afellay impressed in last years World Cup and was somewhat overshadowed by his country's bigger players. It seems though that Tottenham boss Jol, who is Dutch himself was watching the zippy winger. He spoke about his latest signing in a press conference...

"Ibrahim will offer us pace and excitement, I know he will certainly excite are fans anyway. I saw him at the World Cup and thought he was unlucky not to receive more praise. His tendancies are to attack and he will definately benefit our strikers. He also has age on his side and as he is young will hopefully improve and become a Tottenham legend."

9th January 2011 - 10.50am

IN - Andrea Poli - £7,000,000
NEWS_1234203562_poli.jpg

Poli will be used for the future and be loaned out this year.

Tottenham have struck again, a day after they bought their first January signing. Andrea Poli formerly from Sampdoria has joined too. Poli has a great reputation and has been likened to his namesake Andrea Pirlo. He has strong tackling, an eye for goal and sublime passing which would interest any manager. Jol though took the initiative and snapped him up on a £7M deal. Poli stated...

" I am pleased to have joined Tottenham and I like the setup here. The manager is a very friendly man and I know we'll get on well. It will probably take me a while to get into the first team and that is why I have said I would like to be loaned out untill the summer. I want to give my all to this team and will come back better after the summer able to do so."

Breaking News!!

10th January 2011 - 07.10am

the-sun.PNG

Today the nations papers are claiming that Javier (Chicharito) Hernandez is on the verge of signing for Tottenham on loan untill the end of the season. Hernandez who has only played twice for Man Utd's first team this season and has mainly been restricted to reserve game outings should surely relish the opportunity at White Hart Lane. We will have to see if this is sheer speculation or if there is truth involved...

January transfers continued.

Tottenham chief Martin Jol is still looking for potential purchases. His scouts have been stationed all over Europe recently with Jol seemingly desperate to add to his squad. Manchester United's Javier Hernandez has been heavily linked to the club with a loan deal being speculated in the daily papers. Others that have been linked are Chelsea's Gael Kakuta, Sevilla foward Luis Fabiano (recurring rumour) and Sporting CP defensive midfielder Miguel Veloso. Jol has failed to confirm any of these rumours as truth and only replied with a simple message...

"Tottenham Hotspur is looking for the best calibre players to add to it's squad."

13th January 2011 - 09.22am

IN - Javier Hernandez - Loan/fee £1,200,000 - Future fee £12,500,000
javier-hernandez_1693168c.jpg

Chicharito (little pea) arrives at White Hart Lane

Javier (Chicharito) Hernandez has arrived at Tottenham at the pleasure of all the Tottenham fans, although this deal for the meantime is only a loan move it has the potential to become a permanent deal at the expense of £12.5M. Hernandez who was bitterly disappointed at his time at the Theatre Of Dreams was as ever polite about the deal, Man Utd and Tottenham Hotspur the well mannered Mexican even dropped a hint at the liklihood of his stay mentioning it in his press conference...

" My time in Manchester has been fun and I have learned a great deal. Working with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov has made me up my game. I was told I would go on loan by Mr. Alex Ferguson who said it would improve my ability. When I heard that Tottenham were interested I shreiked as I have watched Tottenham on the telly and think I could fit in with their style of play. I would like to play for Man Utd but if I am surplus to their requirements then I would like to stay here."

The press conference will be sure to intrigue Martin Jol who now has six months to try and persuade the Mexican to stay. It is surely once again an exciting time to be a Tottenham fan.

13th January 2011 - 15.02pm

IN - Tom Cleverley - £3,800,000
Cleverley_1100301a.jpg

Jol thought 'Cleverley' about this transfer

It's as if Man Utd players are like buses! One comes along and then sure enough another one does too! Tottenham have signed their second Man Utd player of the day. Young Tom Cleverley puts pen to paper on a three year deal. He stated that first team football was the main reason for the move and that he wanted to help be a part of the changes at White Hart Lane. He said...

"When I heard about Alex Ferguson wanting to push through the deal becasue he wanted the best for me I agreed and sharpishly turned up. I will always love United and would like to go back in the future. For now though my head and heart lye here. I want to succeed at this club and believe it can be done."

OTHER TRANFERS

Wilson Palacios - Malaga - £8,000,000
Sandro - Shalke - £8,000,000
Vedran Corluka - AC Milan - £9,000,000

With all the comings and goings this month it will be interesting to see how well Tottenham cope this month. It could potentially leave the club falling flat on it's face if the new signings can't gel together. With the likes of Man Utd and Arsenal being played this month we shall see if Martin Jol has made the right choices in the Transfer Market.

F.A cup day with no suprises here. Southampton who are a lowly League 1 side didn't really put up too much of a fight here. With their focus on finally getting out of League 1, Tottenham were allowed to run away with it here. Yoann Gourcuff won't have been happy with his performance, missing two penalties and sqandering a chance for a hattrick.

Man Utd played extremely well and will be pleased with themselves as they took apart an ok Tottenham team. Jol set out to score first but his team never looked like testing Edwin Van Der Sar who had a relatively easy game. Wayne Rooney also seemed to have an easy game as he destroyed the Tottenham defence and embarassed Joe Hart by scoing a brilliant hattrick. Jol looked miserable from the sidelines and stomped off after full time.

Tottenham put last weeks dismal result behind them and got back on track with things against the Villians who looked light at the back. Giovanni Dos Santos put the home side in front with a clever shot which curled round Brad Friedel. Gourcuff scored with a trademark shot powering the ball in the net from just outside the area and Javier Hernandez introduced himself to the fans with a goal on his debut.

Back to basics for Tottenham who did have an early scare after Ledley King bought down Neil Eardley in the box which gave Blackpool a penalty, a penalty which Eardley quicky dispatched of. Luckily after the break Tom Cleverley started what looked like it might be an onslaught as Tottenham proceeded to dominate possesion and descended onto the Blackpool goal. Javi Martinez and Javier Hernandez both scoring fine goals from through balls.

Tottenham need to be at least putting up a fight in these matches to have any chance of toppling the big boys in this league. At times it looked as if they just couldn't cope with Arsenal who dominated the match and made sure Tottenham went home with their tales firmly between their legs.

Next Month Champions League Knockout Rounds!!

Tottenham will be preparing for their European Champions League Knockout Round fixtures against none other than Real Madrid next month. Tottenham will go into both matches as odds-on underdogs but as we all know the way of football sometimes, they may miracuously be able to pull off their biggest win of the season so far. So keep up to date...

Jol has been trying to find out why Tottenhams form has dipped

Martin Jol along with assisstant manager Manuel Delgado Meco have been working hard on finding a solution to Tottenhams topsy-turvey form. Both have had one to ones with squad members and agreed that squad harmony is not a factor. Jol has even spoken to other managers and asked for their opinion but came back with nothing he hadn't already thought of. It seems Tottenham are just going to have to work out how to sort out there form themselves.

Despite controlling this match they failed to translate possession into goals and ended up the losing side after Jason Koumas scored.

Tottenham fans will be praying that they can keep hold of Javier (Chicharito) Hernandez after his last performance. The Mexican striker scored a superb hattrick, won the match for Spurs and looked like he has all the makings to be a top top player for the club. Fulham played well and it was only Hernandez's talent that won it for Tottenham today.

HART ATTACK

Many Tottenham fans have voiced their concerns over Joe Hart's performances. With Tottenham conceeding far too many goals it is the Spurs keeper who has come under criticisim. Fans have stated that...

"If Tottenham are going to progress as a team and climb up the league table then we need a goalkeeper who can reduce the goals that are being scored against us. Joe Hart is a good goalkeeper but must improve if he want's to stay at this club."
